Cranked treble, prolly 7 or 8 on midrange, 5 on the bass, full overdrive, and a touch of reverb for good measure. That's what I use when I want to sound like Chuck, and it comes across pretty well to my ears.

The secret is a dimarzio x2n and a Marshall valvestate 8100 with a touch of a boss chorus ensemble pedal but most decent chorus pedals will give you that effect

There's so many layers to Richard's drumming. All the intricate little cymbal work blows my mind I don't even know how to describe it.

I had this concert in a VHS tape recorded from a friend back in the day. Never heard anything like this at the time... the intricate drumming, the massive riffs, the tempo shifts, the unexpected cymbal swells and chokes, the philosophical lyrics. Groundbreaking stuff.
As a bassist - came for Scott's bass intro, stayed for Chuck's playing.
Such an amazing talent Chuck shuldiner was . It sucks that his life was cut so short . 🥺 RIP to the most significant figure in metal music .

Does anyone know Chuck's reading focus by the time? He touches on some themes which I think had an immense impact on his compositions and general musicianship. There could be some testimonies out there.
