I hope Kevin goes on Bills podcast one day to reminisce about these times. I know this is the pass but I cant get enough of Patrice. Patrice O'neal, comic GOD. RIP.
Bill eventually said it was Steve Byrne that did the gig. He also said Steve told him that the gig was brutal because they actually hit TRAFIC on the way there and Bill never thought of that lmaoo
Jimmy probably wanted Kevin Hart to give him the credit by saying it was him but Kevin forgot, lol. Apparently Bill was roasting him about his shirt, and Jimmy couldn't fight back without taking a cheap shot.. what a invertebrate lol
Patrice Oneal was always extra hard on Bill cause I think that they were very close. Patrice use to give Bill shyt all the time but if you noticed he would do this mainly for Bill is he was always clarifying by saying "all jokes aside Bill is my close friend blah blah" which shows me that he was real tight with him. Tough love kind of how brothers do
Him and norton were closer, but I think Patrice always could tell how big bill was gonna get, and wanted to sharpen his wit and resolve every way he could. And if you really think about it, bill became the best comic out of the whole group besides the late Patrice. So all those trashings paid off In spades.
DieYng98 he trashed everyone no diubt but he took a personal liking ti trashing Billy’s career. Norton , Ant, and Patrice all have this Dark humor. He even trashes Vos all the time but who doesn’t but something about Burr use to make Patrice happy at pissing on his success more than anyone. Rare he trashes Jimmy for a gig or good promotion, Vos may be the closes to trashing Like ill to me. Burr had a comedy Show or gig Patrice would love trashing him.. Vos even said to Patrice one time. Vos said “your just mad cause I cant hang with you as much” Patrice answered with “yup I know, I miss my bud” when Vos got married lle he trashed Vos
Its crazy how close knit the stand up comedy circle is. Like all of them are friends and keep in touch and they all came up together. They probably supported the shit out of one another when they needed something. You don't hear about that anywhere else in the entertainment industry
There is a similar story in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry, the established comedians promoting the emerging comedians, and the emerging carrying the aspiring comedians along.
but at the same time they shit on each other about everything and thats the funniest to me because they sometimes get genuinely mad but it doesnt matter because its for the sake of comedy and well they‘re real friend arent they? it must have been the best time of life for them to be in this circle of opie & anthony and co. I really wish sometimes I could be part of all this but for that I would have to be funny..
Patrice was the wisest of the bunch. He was their lowkey guru that made them all more advanced versions of themselves as comics and people. What a man...
It was Bobby Kelly that told Jimmy about the gig to begin with, Jimmy was just the one who told everybody else in order to escape getting a beating from Patrice, Kev, Keith & Bobby.
The rest of the story is bill didn't take into consideration that there'd be heavy traffic so the 30 minutes gig turned into almost an hour. Classic story
Can you imagine hanging out with these guys lol steel sharpens fucking steel man….imagine these guys joking on each other making each other better comedians and then imagine someone having the nerve to heckle one of them….Bill is ready for anything
My guess would be Paul Virzi. Fellow New Yorker, I think he's a big Yanks fan (might be Mets, I forget) and Bill told a follow-up story during one of the Patrice tributes the guy said "dude, it was brutal". I can picture Virzi saying that.
Anyone know who the comic who took the gig was? Here's my wild guess, based on nothing other than he was further down the ladder and hung out with all of them... Joe DeRosa.
Actually Bill did do a podcast with the comic that did the gig! I forgot what episode it was. It was awhile ago, but he did do it and reveal who it was
Bill still won. He got a ticket to a World series game, that's worth a couple thousand today, in exchange for his comedic entertainment on the way to the game. . I'm not a fan of either team but I love baseball and would take that gig in a second. That was a classic, epic, legendary, etc.. world series.
I'm confused... I just listened to Bill Burr's most recent podcast (12/27/18) and at 96 minutes into it this exact same piece is played. I'm a long time fan of his, but just recently started following his podcasts a few months ago. Does he usually replay his past podcasts? I know he has a tendency to forget that he's told stories in previous podcasts and repeat himself, but this clip is completely identical.
Patrice prepared Bill for Philly.
The Cellular crew in general
Patrice would've made a good Huell in Breaking Bad. I think Bill and him could've had awesome on-sceen chemistry. :(
FUCK
Damn.
this comment messed me up for a couple seconds haha, you're right dude dam that's some shit.
Holy shit it's David Lynch
Hit me right in the feels
I hope Kevin goes on Bills podcast one day to reminisce about these times. I know this is the pass but I cant get enough of Patrice.

Bill went on Kevin's podcast about a week ago
Was the pass completed?
@@TL2354 I just re-read this this morning. I was kinda drunk last night LOL
Check out Kevin hart's podcast, bill went on and channeled his inner Patrice and trashed him

😅😅😅😅
Bill finally revealed its Steve Byrne
I love how Jim starts off saying, "who ratted him out?"
"I dont remember who started it...who teased him.."
Knowing damn well he was the cause ahaha
Jim’s a worm for asking that question and knowing full well it was him.

Him and norton were closer, but I think Patrice always could tell how big bill was gonna get, and wanted to sharpen his wit and resolve every way he could. And if you really think about it, bill became the best comic out of the whole group besides the late Patrice. So all those trashings paid off In spades.
Shahaan Singh Guraya Just not true. Patrice didn’t play favorites. Whoever was deserving of a beating, got it.

No wonder bill's so funny. He's a walking calus at this point.
Lol word
Lmfao so true, and before this comment I hadn't realized it. Also I now aspire to become a walking callus myself.
As he said, no heckler can get to you once you been trashed by some of the all-time comedic greats of you generation.
He’s the opposite

I miss having friends like this.
This just proves Bill’s sheer bravery and “fuck-it” attitude. What other legit comedian would go through with this? Legend.
Exactly. American comics are great.
Comics teasing him for it but the rest of us think its cool that you can get $500 and World Series tickets just by saying words
He could've gotten the ticket and flipped it and made a cool $1000

Shout out to Bill Burr for taking his lumps and earning his stripes.

this whole story and when Jim norton made fun of bills grandma are the funniest things i ever heard

It was Bobby Kelly. I remember he was talking abt it in one of the remembering Patrice shows on O&A.
It was Steve Byrne. I'm watching this video now because he just mentioned it on episode 200 of the Bertcast.
