Dr Olivia is so awesome thank you Sarah and Matt. I am.in a terrible mess physically from going through nine years of idiotic treatment and now my thyroid is allessefup.as well. I wish I had the finance to work with doctors like her. We have nobody like this in South Africa. I saw her many times on your series and other docuseries. I wish too that I could afford to buy some of your supplements and Jonathan's!!
I had a very very low TSH - .0085. Functional Medicine Doc was concerned about Graves disease. He tested for T3 & T4 and no Graves antibodies. He wanted to wait 6 months and re-evaluate. I drastically cut out sugar and worked on my diet more. Six months later I had my TSH to 1.13. Have been doing good until last week or so and now feeling very tired, moody, etc.
Very informative. Had to talk to a endo dr. And skipped around my issues. Crying with the frustration. My tpo levels were high and all.my tsh levels were normal. So I need to go to another endo until get my answer.been talking to my drs. And feels like im talking to the wall.
Very informative video. Thank you. My left lobe is small as a consequence of radiotherapy for a maligncy elsewhere and right lobe shows a nodule which has not increased in size since last year and shows thyroiditis on ultrasonography . Having symptoms of brittle nails puffy face , dull eyes , dark circles, constipation, dry skin and hair . My TSH is 7 and not on any medication since diagnosis as tsh is always 7 and below. Hashimoto has been ruled out . T3 and T4 in normal range . What all should I eat / avoid eating and how to reverse nodule and thyroiditis.
Thanks for joining us, Annpurna! The truth is that many different underlying problems could be contributed to your symptoms. It would be best to consult with a healthcare practitioner who can thoroughly review your history, symptoms, and environment, along with any additional diagnostics that may be beneficial, to determine your best course of action. If your doctor is not providing you with all of the answers you need, you can always seek a second opinion. Best of luck! xx
Amazing information... My biggest breakthrough happened when I understood I was dealing with more that just a thyroid issue... A lot more gut related... Thank you!! What's the best way to contact you??
I asked my NP for the full panel with antibody test, but she only ordered the tsh reflex and t4. My t4 is normal but tsh is 9. Now she wants me on Synthroid without doing the full panel I asked for. I also asked for a celiac panel bc I have gluten sensitivity symptoms and a heavy metals panel bc I've been chronically exposed to lead for 30yrs in my old apartment building (lead pipes, paint...) But she wouldn't test me on those either. How do I get her to listen? Synthroid is like slapping a bandaid on the bleed. I refuse to take it until I get those blood tests. If my doctor stubbornly refuses to test me then I'll be just as stubborn back.
@@GoodnessLover She was my second opinion. I switched doctors when my first doctor did the same thing. I have another appointment with her this month. I'll ask again for the tests.

That's right, swelling is one of the classic symptoms of inflammation. Swelling can also be the result of fluid retention, hormonal changes, allergic reactions or serious health problems, like congestive heart failure. Check in with your doctor if you are experiencing unexplained swelling!
Very informative...more information than I've received from my doctor in over 10 years...

It's unfortunate that your doctor isn't listening, but it's great that you're seeking a more compatible healthcare provider!

I guess swelling is also inflammation in the body ?
