HELLO PEOPLE, I mentioned entering a convention competition in the video, which is Otafest. I’m also going to UK Games Expo, so don’t be afraid to say hello if you’re attending either of these events!
You're right... It all makes sense now, YES! Bionicle was indeed my first kit bash! I never made the connection before but as soon as you mentioned it, all the memories came flooding back, like the final puzzle piece coming together!
Fantastic vid! I’m a LEGO moc builder who’s just started getting into gunpla and love watching kitbashing stuff, so ts all very inspiring. Lots of great points about focusing on how people should enjoy doing their hobbies their ways and to encourage each other. A great vid and a new subscriber :). I believe venturing into other hobby types is a venture gained not a hindrance on the previous hobby. Enjoy your journey your way.
You know whats interesting, the designers of bionicle pieces would do their concepts with kitbashing. If you noticed that in the later series of bionicle that some pieces have similar shapes or designs, thats because they even kitbashed with their own old designs.
I know impostor is incredibly difficult to combat however Liam you are not only an inspiration for someone like me, you are also an amazing creator and brilliant artist. My the Millennial Model Mayhem reign on. ❤❤❤
Oh my god yes I need bionicle content!!! I've always been curious about combining bionicle with mini painting techniques, kind of levelling up bionicles to something more customizable?
Not only were Bionicles my first foray into kitbashing, it was also my first foray into prop making Also, love both minis and gunpla so very excited to find a creator who does both

I'm here for your general aptitudes with plastic model kits/hobbies and painting advice. plus, by this point seeing minis and gunpla blended or even stand along bring a Nu sense of artistic invigoration to my gunpla base entry to the hobby. Don't stop stay fly!🎉❤🎉❤
This piece was a wonderful essay on your experience in this fantastic content creation hobby. Very cool stuff. Can't wait for more, whether it be gunpla, minis, or another peek behind the curtain!
I came for the gunpla and stayed for the mini painting. I think people in the two hobbies can learn a lot from each other, and you're not the only content creator I watch on both sides of that line.
Hey, I know im just some random stranger on the internet, but I want you to know that what drew me to your channel was your combination of both the mini painting and the gunpla- having done the former for a while and just having got into the latter. And your skills in both areas absolutely blow me away! So, I guess I'm saying, I love whatever content you put out and you continue to be an inspiration to me and my hobby. And I hope you find success just hobbying as you like!
Brother, I'm into both. I apply the techniques of minis-painting to Gunpla because I don't have room for a dedicated airbrush-rig (even though I have one... gift from a friend) and it's too cold to rattle-can paint half the year (thank you, Army Painter Brush-On Primer) where I stay. I love what you do, and thanks for being candid. It's Okay To Not Be Okay. But if you keep makin' 'em, I'll keep watchin' 'em.
I use to do Gunpla back when I was younger and honestly completely forgot about it. It wasn't until I stumbled upon your content that I got back in to building models. I'm more of a miniatures guy myself but I still enjoy your witty content.
I just want to say that your channel is so refreshing! I love your attitude toward content creation. At the end of the day, if you have fun and enjoy what you are doing, then your videos will be fun to watch! Youve been a big inspiration to my Gunpla building and I enjoy your mini content even though I primarily am interested in Gunpla. Ive actually started making my own Gamma Wolves crew and found someone to play with after watching your videos!
Hell yeah I just finished taking apart my bionicles and beast wars transformers. Your words really hit home and motivated me. Just got some xps foam and am looking forward to a new project!
New fan here, I'm into both Gunpla and Minis but started out with Gunpla. I hand paint some kits (since I dont have a n airbrush yet) and the way you paint your gunplas is just mesmerizing. Im looking to get into minis soon but havent got any yet. I'm looking forward to more content on hand painting skills and advice :) Keep it up!
I actually did a really simple gunpla kitbash recently using two kits that use the same frame, and even now I refer to it as something “simple” but I’m still incredibly proud of how it came out
I myself like to fixate my gunpla in a singular position ( at least from the legs down) and paint them purely with a brush. It just gets rid of unwanted paint chipping and its just fun, so i completely respect your decisions and hard work.
I never kitbashed, but way long before I knew the term "Panel line" I used black sharpies to mark the lines and paint unpainted (duh) details on my toys haha Guess the things you do as a kid are a mirror of your future self
your videos fit into the same category i feel im in. i build gunpla and recently got into warhammer, my friends are cool with me building my gunpla on hobby nights as they build/paint their minis for 40k. you give my inspiration on kitbashing and making the two different hobbies work together. keep up the good work
Great job on the kitbash. Magnets is a great idea to add different non permanent pieces or to change armaments. Mintures are solid to. Just do you in your art it seperates us artist from other artist. Our art is uniquely us. I started using gouache and watercolors on my kits with the acrylics.
I know how the different paint media work together as an artist so that's the key plus I'm considering trying color prisma pencils to which you can use over or cover with matte medium for details and panel work. I think it's worth experimenting with all tools we are comfortable using.
