This is a fantastic recipe! Made this for dinner last night and was a hit. I’m glad you had a nice trip and are recharged. Looking forward to cooking with more of your recipes. My doctors have been impressed with my progress and have asked me what I’ve been doing. I’ve been networking with other patients like me and you’ve been helping so many others too❤you are a blessing to me and many others. Just thank you from the bottom of my ❤️
Each cooking lesson I get from Chetna is a step closer to my kitchen making the same food. Any recipe she makes makes my tastes and my mind feel wonderful thinking about making and eating the same dish at home.
Lovely recipe, It looks very tasty and perfect for colder days! I'll be making this in no time, thank you so much for the clear recipes and the videos full of cozy vibes 💚
Hi Chetna, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten was a carrot a pea sabji just like yours. It was made by the daughter of a workmate who was from Pakistan. Luckily he brought some for all of us. Best work lunch I ever had.
@@FoodwithChetna I already have. It was really good, really easy. Nowhere near as good as yours or my friend’s daughter’s but still great. If I can make friends with a local gardener and get fresh seasonal veg it would be even better😀
Interesting about the Indian carrots. I am subscribed to a few Indian channels and noticed visual differences in some basic vegetables and was wondering if they taste differently, too. I know that for example the Indian bay leaf tastes and smells differently than what we call a bay leaf in Europe. So when I cook something Indian it may end up tasting differently than intended. Doesn't matter, the main thing it's spicy enough to make me cry, ha ha. And Nutribullet, I have an expensive blender, but since I got this cheaply I use it for everything, even spice mixes.
Am I right, you served the sabzi with moong dal fry (posted recently)? And if I can't get to the Indian supermarket for methi chapattis, can I add methi/dried fenugreek to the sabzi itself? I'm new to the ingredient (as in never used it) but I loved the "minty" flavour in the wraps/chapattis. Thank you so much

There is a time and place for "overcooked peas" - for me it's pea soup (with ham hock or Greek feta and mint/parsley) to add natural sweetness and intensity of flavour or in my family's recipe "pasta with peas", which relies on cooing down onions, peas and pork mince until it tastes like one (pork add savoury and all 3 add sweetness when left to simmer) and it is just comfort food! I can't explain it good enough because nothing tastes like it.

Well, that looks like a LOT of work to get a side dish of peas & carrots, but it also looks like it will be very tasty, so I'll HAVE to try it❣️
Seems like a very healthy recipe. Do you think dry methi will be go nicely in this recipe?
yes can be added for sure
Looks delicious!

Looks really beautiful.
I realize this was posted like a year ago, but I need a side dish for tonight. Can't wait to try it!

What was the spice you added after the cumin seeds at the start of the cooking ?
That spice is asafoetida (hing).
Re: Indian vegetarian dishes, is extra virgin olive oil is good vegan subtitute for ghee?
Not really as the extra virgin olive oil has a very strong flavour.....

Happy holi Chetna . 🙏
thanks and to you too
Darling Whats the name of the second Spice the one next to the cumin seeds? Thank you 🥰
The second ingredient was hing or asafoetida
Peas staying nice & bright green is so important to me; hate sad blah khaki peas.
yeah

Is this a main dish or side ?
Side or main either is great
Love watching, but I really need a recipe for this, especially the seasonings used. I heard "cumin seeds", but missed the next ingredient...
The written recipe will be up on my website next week
The second ingredient was hing or asafoetida
@@FoodwithChetna Can I omit that without destroying the whole dish?
Onion in mixer? Seriously? Never, ever do that! Check out why
Why? Care to explain here please?!
Hi Chetna, I have to say this not very good cooking please improve :)
hahaha
Yes! I demand Cheta sends me a portion of everything she makes, just to make sure she is improving 😀
