Square Enix has recreated Final Fantasy VII, now the game looks like what we all imagined it to look like in our heads when we played it back in the day. Those fond memories have also been lobtomized so Square Enix could tweak the game's story in a meta commentary direction. You bet there are sins.

I was not expecting them to do Barrett so well. His funny moments are legitimately funny, he's delightfully corny at times, his screaming at the plate aftermath actually hurt, and he's unnecessarily handsome. Best boi
Imagine Barret's girlfriends being like "I'm piston for a fistin".
best character honestly, built like a tank and the skills for his melee weapons devastate the sh!t out of anything.
I wish they'd gotten Beau Billingsly back though
Imagine the poor soul who ends up dating Marlene when shes a teen. Barret doesn't even have to go get his gun because it's literally attached to his body.
i found him and aerith to be the most relatable.
in the beginning i found myself agreeing with his environmental speech. relevant in the real world sadly, people need to hear that for our world too.
You missed the part where tifa mixes a drink with only one drink. Then the cosmo canyon is made by simply shaking the mixers with not beverage in them lol
Unless the mixer already had something in it.
That's really a sin. Maybe that coctel maker is covered with drugs and that's the addition hahhaa
@@DashingDavid True... 😁But it's your*
Let's face it, that is probably the house drink because people like watching Tifa shake the mixer

I actually thought that the sword hitting the door frame was to show how scared cloud was of sephiroth, displaying his PTSD with quick and frantic actions showing that he is terrified and using his flight of fight responses immediately without any thought because he knows that if sephiroth makes a move hes dead!
He could probably fit his sword through the door if he wasn’t so afraid.
Agreed
he literary fits the sword through the door in the next few seconds
If I remember correctly, Shinra doesn't collect Aerith despite knowing where she is because for some reason they need her to come willingly. Also, the president of Shinra's gun must've had some seriously crazy firepower if he thought he could take out Barret with it. He and the rest of the group constantly take machine gun fire like they're only being slapped.
But what doesn't make sense is that they kept trying to kidnap her. Like when Reno showed up in the church. If she needs to come willingly, why they send Reno to the church? To ask her politely to come to the Shinra building?
Chococo Sam: we interrupt this Final Fantasy game to bring you Red Dead Redemption
Haha! Exactly what I said looking at him. I've never played the Red Dead Redemption games but everything I've seen from it looks like Chocobo Sam would fit right in. Love that gruff voice as well. And that beard! It's so fluffy...I just want to run my hand over it once, lol!
@dartigan I think there's some frame rate glitch which is coming in on your videos. Had noticed it on the FF12 video too but thought I'd made a mistake. But now I'm sure there are definitely some extra frames sneaking in - like at 21:45 after the 'gag on everyone' line there's one frame with the Madame M lady and the guy with the cap, or at 27:52 right after Wedge's dialogue Aerith appears for one frame, a jumpcut of Hojo at 38:16.
Good eye!
I played & finished this game and I enjoyed every single Sephiroth moment. How many more years until we get to his real part?
*BTW BEATING ONLY SEPHIROTH WASN'T GONNA DO ANYTHING OR ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING*
*YOU ALL KNOW THAT , THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT HAS TO BE DONE*
*THE REAL PROBLEM WASN'T SEPHIROTH , SEPHIROTH WAS ONLY CONTROLLED BY JENOVA , EVEN THOUGH HE CLAIMED AND SAID HE WAS THE ONE WHO CONTROLLED JENOVA*
*THE REAL ENEMYY IS JENOVA AND HOJO , IN 500 YEARS SOMETHING HAPPENS AND WE NEED TO FIX IT*

17:10 - They don't want to hurt her.
18:04 - Even in your city you can get lost despite knowing where something more or less is on a map.
18:39 - I would consider a Sin the fact the rude, the stereotypical big dude, is now a skinny guy who looks like a '90s disco dance DJ.
18:50 - Does Cloud has one?
19:05 - Their story wasn't serious so I doubt Zack met Aerith's mom at all and that she ever saw his buster sword.
19:16 - They can't pass through Wall Market because Don Corneo controls it.
19:58 - A sword wouldn't be something unique about Zack for Aerith who is not in the military.
23:53 - Yes, Avalanche is a secret group; Cloud is a mercenary, not one of them.
24:27 - Cloud and Aerith left a good impression on Andrea (and on the other 2).
24:31 - Cloud is not a super Soldier and, dude, it's a videogame...
25:12 - Don Corneo is an influential ally in the Slum so Shinra should warn him to stay away.
25:22 - So what's the Sin? Shinra could drop anything as you say.
25:50 - Reeve is an architect so he doesn't necessarily know about experiments etc; he doesn't quit, but he betrays Shinra.
29:37 - Except trying to make contact with the group here and warn them.
29:51 - Barret didn't know the code between Aerith and Tifa.
31:09 - It does. They repeatedly said they wanted her to cooperate. Now they changed plan.
31:24 - He want to assess what remained of Avalanche without revealing the hideout in front of Aerith's mom, that's totally reasonable.
32:31 - That's before tons of shit went down that fast.
32:55 - Avalanche is not that organized in Midgar. They used a train and fake IDs to reach the reactor at the beginning but now the members of Avalanche who knew how to get fake ID are either dead or lost.
35:18 - It's a videogame... You have to concede some liberties or there won't be a game.
36:32 - Maybe in the HQ Shinra controls communications.
42:26 - Because in the orginal timeline you don't kill the clone, but you kill Jenova's part.
43:47 - The street is under construction.
44:38 - I expect Sephiroth is also trying to change the timeline, so they have to stop him more urgently than in the original game.
I would've criticized the fact they used the same underlying model for Sephiroth, Aerith's mom, and Aerith, and that Tifa looks like a Japanese latex s** doll (the skin textures in this game were very bad, everybody seemed to have rubber skin).

I love how we go through wallmarket, fight in an arena, dance for approval, confront Corneo, go through a giant sewer, brave a train graveyard, and climb to the top of the sector seven pillar and fight Reno and Rude all in one night.
Lol that REALLY bothered me
Damn you are right, There are other things,in minecraft I love how the guy have square head, how he is changing terrain with just pickaxe. In witcher you can take so many deadly blows from monsters and then just eat a sandwich and you are good to go,now I can't look at that anymore, In call of duty it takes half of the magazine to kill and 10 seconds to recover if you are hit by a bullet. I love how you can keep crashing your car in forza and carry on driving,I need a car like that. What a dumbass.
Well, if it helps, just pretend when you fell down the sewers, all 3 of you were knocked out for sometime. Cloud was just the first to wake up. As it kinda looks like the 3 of you got placed there and not fell down to that position. There was a door in that room and it's locked. Only by beating the rat boss, were you able to be free to move on. Which means, they woke up in the morning, fought the rat boss, then spend the entire afternoon getting out of the sewers and got to the train graveyard by night fall.

Zhengrui0 I was gonna say that the helicopter keeps on shooting at Cloud from that position too instead of flying at another angle to try and hit him, but that works too.
Talks about how Aerith’s mum should recognise Cloud’s sword as it was her daughter’s boyfriend’s, has the Iron Blade equipped during cutscene
Back when Zack would meet Aerith's mom, he would still technically be using the starting sword and not the Buster Blade.
Thats just for the sake of the games mechanics, he would never actually change swords until Advent children so she should recognize it
Would be funny though
"You are carrying the sword of her ex gf who also was a soldier"
"Nah mam, I just found this in the reactor I blew up together with this terrorist group"

Sephiroth - Like Aerith- ist self aware of the past. Since he knows that he was defeated in the main timeline, he wants to defy destiny and create his own future in which he succeeds. Given that both him and Aerith are resting inside the livestream (which holds all the memories of the earth) it would make sense that they are both aware of the past outcome, even if they are inside a time loop (aka the "remake").
Aerith was afraid to change destiny from the beginning, because of the uncertainty that it held in regards of whether she and her friends would succeed in the end. She had come to terms of her own death. She didn't want to change fate for her own good. She only took the final step back then and there with the portal, because she knew that all the timelines will eventually collapse and collide due to sephiroths actions. And in order to stop him, she had to play his game, too.
I am not a native speaker, so I hope you could understand what I'm trying to say lol
Would that also explain Cloud saying "but i killed you" to Sephiroth in the beginning? Cause that still confuses me. Along with many other things. May be because I played the OG after the remake, but they added a lot of unnecessary elements to this game, especially if it is to be interpreted the way you did, it just makes little sense to new players, even after they play the OG to get context cause the impact of it isn't the same.
@@tommen.baratheon by saying "but I killed you" he meant what happened in Crisis Core, a prequel to FF VII
There are no timelines. This is him and Aerith remaking memories. Aerith wants him to be disconnected from Cloud while he wants to get stronger.
For sin 13 Aerith doesn't leave right away like the original and shows that she wants to stick around so the whispers attack her to get her to run away.
Got the impression Aerith was hounded by Whispers because she was about to wonder off and miss Cloud entirely. Whether knowingly or otherwise, after being 'rescued' her dialogue with him is different to the OG...
At first I thought it was creative licence... Then I replayed the game and all the conversations or events had new meaning. (I'm sure we all experienced that)
Final Fantasy didn't need to copy the CWs Flash. Time wraiths protecting the timeline and Sephiroth says "run cloud, run" is a bit much.
@@ShaneSchofield52 100%. Sephiroth tried to delay Cloud from meeting Aerith. The Whispers hold her in place to thwart Sephiroths timeline deviation. The remake makes sense once you realize What Sephiroth's new plans are, and what Whispers are trying to do

Also he complains about the rest of the party and avalanche seeing the whispers, and while he's right Cloud didn't purposely touch anyone, everyone DID touch him.
Also in the cutscene where Barret cuts him out on the second reactor attack you can see a whisper pan right over the camera.
3:30 My thoughts exactly. In the original, my first playthrough ever, the story built up Sephiroth so much that when he finally appeared on screen, I felt I was in the presence of an in-game legend and even watching him battle against a dragon, I was in awe of his strength and magic. Because he was introduced so quickly in this game, steals that same impact away from those that have never experienced the first.
That's exactly what I was saying when I kept seeing him. Sephiroth feels cheap and cliche now.
They've discussed this in great detail in interviews. Even people who never played FF7 know about Sephiroth, hiding him and building him up is pointless because we already know he's powerful and terrifying.
@@Seraph821 Except even when you know about him hiding him until the end of Disc 1 has a great impact
I played the game knowing full well who Sephiroth was and it was still satisfying to have him remain a mystery for 1 third of the game
The remake overuses him to the point where it's just annoying and cheap
I got tired of Sephitoth in this game. I can’t even listen to his epic song anymore, which I used to love. He was one of my favorite characters ever, and still is if I focus only on the FF VII classic and forget all the rest.
@@carinainmotion3100 Right? In terms of traits (not story), he's lost all his humanity, and thus--he's no longer relatable. But really white haired characters, who aren't old, are weird in the FFVII context. I think it was a deliberate choice to make Sephi white-haired since it gives him this inhuman and ethereal look. @@illusionofquality979 It seems like they forgot what the white-haired trope originally represented.
In Japanese Mythology, Silver/White hair was an indication of demonic possession and/or influence (Unless your old), Sephiroth has Silver Hair because he was injected with Jenova cells before he was born, which is what allowed Jenova to pretty much influence him and commit the atrocities that he did.

Annoys me that you need subtitles on in this game to understand some of the dialogue.
It's not often but, there are a few points where its not possible to hear/understand what's being said without subtitles.

44:35 - Technically, Sephiroth broke into this timeline first by showing up to cloud and giving him illusions and so on for the rest of the game. It’s why he’s more prevalent in this section of the story than the original. As for as I know, Aerith has become aware of the changes being done once the whispers started attacking her. So reasonable speaking, it’s Sephiroth who’s save-cheating cause he’s forced a new future (having cloud and co. Kill destiny) where he knows how he lost before and can change it now in a new save.
Kill destiny, lol it's so literal, destiny in a giant robot form. Nomura have no clue about subtly

Also, Advent Children is terrible; I’d rather pretend it doesn’t exist.
Also, the gunner guy whisper has an attacked with the same name as the guns that the gunner remnant had.
And, the three combined into bahamut, and the three remnants summoned bahamut in AC

@Daniel Zuk Because Turks are essentially super soldiers, too. ...Just, not in the same kind of way.
I don't know how people seem to keep overlooking that Tifa clearly said Barret's name when they first got to the pillar, with Aerith standing right behind her and looking at her as she talks. Also, Wedge didn't fall through the hole the party did. He was on a different section of floor and they had to climb back up to get to him.
For one of the first sins about the bomb timing, while 30 seconds would've been enough to get a safe distance away from the bomb, the reactor exploding would cause heavy panic among the facility, which could lead to them being caught immediately
They need to leave the area before it explodes to prevent arrest duh
Another one, in the OG, AVALANCHE DID intend to only disable the reactor. If you talk to Jessie, she mentions that the bomb wasn't supposed to be that big. It was just more subtle there.
Aerith actually kind of *is* trying to make sure Advent Children doesnt happen, as if Sephiroth is defeated in the same manner as the original, he'll continue exist as a sort of planet ghost leeching off the life stream and waiting for the opportunity to come back again and again. Some lines even imply that this Sephiroth isn't the one from the original timeline, but the one from Advent Children, and hes trying to get a better ending for himself. This would make Sephiroth the save scummer, and Aerith the anti-scummer summer.
Sephy can come back everytime? then why he need to change fate?
Sephy merged with a planet-vampire alien thing that is generally rejected by the life stream. He'll keep coming back as long as he retains his sense of self. Might not be possible to destroy him without convincing him to let go of his hated. Even if you destroy the planet, he could survive in space as per Jenova. So Advent children could still happen either way.

This guy are sick. Jessie never intended to blow up the whole reactor in OG. In the HQ basement, she is visually stressed out about the size of the explosion and even commented that it was never meant to be so big. She said there must have been a miscalculation in the instructions she used.
Xavier Doe yeah the nuance is there. Most people wouldn’t catch the implication that it was actually shinra sabotage in the original
@Darrow Au Andromedus they are talking about the original game, there was never any cut scene showing shinra blowing up the reactor, just it exploding from the outside. If you talk to jesse later on in the hideout under the bar she comments on how the explosion was way bigger then she expected.
I think logicaly, what he meant, is that a small explosion (only destroying that small part of the reactor) is useless, they could fix it in no time, making all the work to stop the reactor useless. YOU NEED A BIG EXPLOSION TO GET THAT EFFECT. In the original, they always wanted to cause a big explosion, even if the result was even bigger than intended. The difference in the remake is that they seemed to play a vereu small explosion that wouldn´t make much of a difference.

It's easy to imagine that any higher up from Public Security would have went on the hunt for Barrett but Corneo either offered or was roped into sending his lackeys instead.
Highly likely that Public Security was doing sus shit like setting up perimeters next to maintenance access areas around the pillar in edition to them quarantining undercity folks. And Barrett being Barret and having Shinra assume blame for EVERYTHING went in guns blazing.
The trap door leads to Corneo's pet's den as well as a route to a safe room Corneo is holding himself over in. Maybe....um...his MEN built it, Dart?
Shinra doesn't control the world. They simply have the exclusivity of harnessing the planet's life force. They also have several privatized industries including a military that blows the fuck out of any army on the planet so it'd be nearly impossible to challenge them. Even Wutai couldn't. They only fought back because their home was in danger of being turned into a reactor site.

Jessie was not a demolitions expert, she was a dancer/actress at the gold saucer, until her dad's accident working for Shinra. Shinra's refusal or inability to take care of her dad led her to join avalanche, and it's sort of implied she learned how to make bombs on the internet or something.

"When not playing Spider-Man, Yuri Lowenthal is consistently typecast as pathetic and cowardly characters. It's one hell of a weird juxtaposition."
Well, there's also those Mercury and Sasuke guys....
Lithium Man Lithium Man And Marth. And Door-kun.
Awfully bold of you to assume Saskue isn't a lil bitch
What about Ben fucking 10
Lithium Man Lithium Man and the final boss of Remnant: From The Ashes
And Pharos in Persona 3, whom of which was downright creepy in some cases. Yosuke in P4 was also not exactly pathetic or cowardly, either. Especially from a gameplay standpoint.
The reason Shinra leaves Aerith alone is because they need her to willingly lead them to the promised land. They tried to force her mother but obviously that didn't work.

Reeve has a “conscious”? It’s not just a typing error, you even pronounce it as such. It’s “conscience”.

You seem to go out of your way to not end on a preposition by using “from which” yet still end with the preposition “from”.

“Facade” is an anglicized word from the French. It’s pronounced Fah-Sah-D.
He also mispronounces "facade"
Panda Eyez i was just going to edit that in.
I heard that and questioned my whole life..
You missed that he also wrote "curios" and "executivess" in the previous sentence.
Only Playsveigar He has several mistakes in grammar in lots of videos. I don’t focus on that. Pronouncing a word wrong is not just an inattentive mistake, though.
Some of the sins is either they forgot or misinterpreted what happened in the OG and the whole Remake game. For example the bomb from Jessie was always meant not to destroy the reactor. It was just not shown clearly. In the OG, ifyou talk to Jessie in the basement of Seventh Heaven after the first run she will have a dialogue where she is wondering why it had so much damage.
Yes but it takes all the consequences of being a terrorist away (which is what they are think of the now powerless hospitals) and shifts all the blame being like "even tho the terrorist's bomb failed let's finish the job so they don't have to be responsible for millions of deaths despite that had to be something they knew would happen and where willing to risk".
Jessie's bomb won't do much damage to the reactor as you can see from the cutscene in Ch.1. It's the company that made the entire reactor blow up.

"Sephiroth is really good at ASMR"

some of those "sins" where present in the FF7 original, like the slums, the eight reactors, and more ...
And they still don't make sense.
and any of them is really a sin if you compare to real world.. it really happens
The part where you said this helpful ability of aerith talking to cloud in his dreams literally happens before she dies remember
I cant remember
Aerith appears in clouds dream and sees Coud pregnant with Sephiroth's baby. . . She then casts teleport but it didn't work, it seems Aerith is stuck here.
@@xrosesc right before they go to the city of the ancients in the original
Aerith’s mom should realize Zach’s sword, a different sword from the one in Crisis Core sure. While cloud has a different sword on him.
Actually, I was wondering about this as well, but I checked and while Zack met Aerith with the standard SOLDIER sword, he does see her again after he gets the Buster Sword from Angeal, and definitely didn't meet her mom while he had the standard SOLDIER sword. I'm not far enough on my replay to remember (or be reminded, more accurately) as to whether or not Zack actually met her mother.
@@se7enist No no he did not. Zack kept meeting Aerith on days where she left to sell flowers. Elmyra only knows him as a man from Soldier as in the original story from FF7 she looks at Cloud and asks him to leave as she doesnt want her daughter hurt by "a man that reminds her of her boyfriend from SOLDIER." Or something to that extent.
@@Zarryon12 At the same time, we're all in agreement that Aerith should have known something was up when she ran into Cloud holding the Buster Sword originally, in both versions.
@@se7enist oh definitely. Aerith should've known when Cloud came running in holding Angeal's AND Zack's sword...as it was the only sword of its kind. Not to mention in crisis core i am sure after the scene Zack was being held by Aerith while crying over killing his mentor he had to explain...that and she knew Angeal had returned to the planet...so yeah. She HAD to have known.
@@se7enist On that subject, Tifa should have known in the B&B during the original game that Clouds retelling of the events in their village was bullshit, but she never calls him on it. I doubt the game gets to that point before it ends but you made me think of it.
About Aerith projecting an image of herself in Clouds sleep. That ability will become useful again after Temple of the Ancients, remember? ;)
@erik melvin Oh sweet nostalgia, I member
Oh hey, now that you mention it. You're absolutely right! Have a like.
That's right! When she projects herself into Clouds dream in the sleeping forest. Guess Dartigan is majorly wrong there ;D
