auron is casual about the whole ordeal because he's gone through the whole entire pilgrimage already, basically dies and was sent to dream zanarkand by jecht to basically raise tidus when jecht was off playing games and well, auron goes through this game with "i'd rather you see the truth with your own eyes" attitude because he could say ANYTHING wild and people will think he's crazy, he'd rather them find out than spouting nonsense, dream zanarkand was a trip for me that, whole thing kinda made me absolutely sad, it's almost saying that tidus never existed.

Strange thing about this claim though is: Cartoons and therefore voice acting existed long before video games, so there already must have been speakers that are used to lip-synch-acting ever since as early as 1908, when the world's first cartoon saw the light of day

Auron's lamenting, self-deprecating line "I only made it to Bevelle" has become a go-to line in my social circle for a game trying to handwave/ignore a character a doing a ridiculously badass thing.
For context, Auron crawled his dying ass through the Zanarkand ruins, down Mt. Gagazet and over the Calm Lands, while (using the party's journey as reference) getting ambushed by monsters at least every ten seconds on his own. That's like if someone bleeding out from a gunshot wound swam across the Atlantic ocean without any aid then lamented that they did it using both arms.
This is one of the many reasons why Auron was the best character in this game.

There is one person who is more badass than Auron. Seymour's mother. She not only walks into the ruins of Zanarkand Dome, bold as brass...she's doing it as an "escort mission" with noncombatant child Seymour in tow. Either she is an unrevealed combat monster herself, or she likewise has armor with "No Encounters" equipped. I come to believe that Auron's lament isn't about the journey, but about his fellow comrades (god I hate that word so much, but it fits so perfectly here...). As we all know, Jecht sacrificed himself to be an Aeon, and Braska gave his life to defeat Sin, but Auron had to watch. And he fled before the final fight. He's not reffering to where he went, but where he lost his faith in Yevon and in what he had to do (and later he died because of guilt and grudge against Yunalesca)

Actually, it's not a sin at all. There are temple summoners at each of the temples who can perform sendings for the towns and cities nearby. They're mentioned in passing and there are actual NPC summoners in the temples themselves, but since a lot of the unimportant NPCs aren't given proper names or even state what they do its hard to pick them out from the crowd of nameless faces. Hell, Seymour is also a temple summoner, technically speaking, before he becomes a maester and goes full anime evil mode. He's the temple summoenr for the Macalania temple. Ergo, they should be able to send the people who die with decent regularity, assuming that there isn't a summoner on their pilgrimage nearby.
What should actually be a sin is why there are so many fiends in the game in areas where there shouldn't be that many unsent souls. Other than the Mushroom Rock Road, Bikanel Island, Mount Gagazet, Zanarkand, the Omega Ruins, and that temple you get Anima from, almost every other area in Spira is directly adjacent to or a part of an active Temple of Yeven. So assuming there is at least a temple summoner at each of the temples, there shouldn't be any fiends anywhere else in Spira at all. Of course, that would make for a pretty boring game, but hey don't blame me blame the lore.

    • @FirebirdPrince
      @FirebirdPrince 4 года назад +4

@@theStonerKid69 I mean there have to be two things to consider here:
1 - That there isn't really too much of a threat from fiends unless you venture into unusual territories like some of those you listed. As we see the Aurochs training on the beach/people seeing Yuna off, the small crowd that was at Kilika Temple, regular people walking along the Mi'hen Roads; the game only seem to make fiends a serious threat if they're special like Sinspawns or BIG, or in terms of not wanting their loved ones turned into a vicious monster (which really shouldn't even be a threat if they're living in a town anyway). And the cities and towns are essentially fiend free enough for people to live comfortably from them.
And 2 - there appear to be fiends regardless of whether there were death or not. I.e. the Sinspawns which are just dropped off of Sin, Evrae who is implied to be control by Yevon - though people debate its fiend status, and the Guado summoning them at will through pyreflies. We also got the implication that they can be revived as well "she sent fiends to test our summoner's strength" as if Auron knew exactly what was coming. And it doesn't seem like every unsent become fiends anyway. We seen the dead summoner in the stolen fayth area, after all. And she was probably the most direct contradiction to what we were told much earlier by Lulu. Our only example of a fiend seemingly appearing from dead bodies is the one in the Summoner's Santrum of the Al Bhed home... but there were two summoners there who practically been sending all day.
So TL;DR; there's reason to believe that some are naturally occurring even without people dying + there isn't really much of a threat from them unless they're particular large or powerful but there's also no real way to eradicate them - as long as pyreflies exist anyway. So the real sin here would honestly be skating over a bunch of details regarding fiends to deliver plot twists about unsents people lol.

The reason Aron acts like this in the game is because he wanted to let the others see the truth with their own eyes. He is never surprised. He wants Yuna to finish her pilgrimage so they see the truth for themselves. Aron do know really well what he is doing.

I'm so sick of people giving the bad laughing scene crap. It's supposed to be bad. They're fake laughing. Badly forcing a laugh because Summoners ad Guardians are Spira's hope. So it helps if they at least appear happy to the people they meet. Tidus and Yuna share in that moment. It literally ends with them legitimately enjoying a laugh at how silly they are.

Sin Toxin, in all honesty, is something of a Yevon conspiracy - a method to make someone crazy or someone who is against Yevon kind of unnoticeable or justified. That way avoiding to deal with it. Tidus and the rest of the crew got hit by Toxin a few times, but it never truly affected them (apart from I guess losing consciousness, but that was more of a post-sin travelling effect). It's sort of whole purpose of this game, to show that a lot of faith is corrupted - church telling that, for example, holy water can heal you, but in this case - as long as you atone for your sins and sacrifice yourself, Sin "might" go away eventually.

That's wrong he actually did know, and that was his motivation entirely. A couple of times there are conversations Tidus hears where they mention the summoner by her female pronoun (referring to the sumoner as her). Before that Tidus literally could not care less and even says so on a few occassions.
Plus they would be suspicious because he claims he doesn't know about summoners anyway?! But if he's from the past then he'd have known about them, and if he ISN'T from the past and is just crazy - then being a regular citizen he would know about them anyway (as all the other regular citizens ALL know about summoners).
It seems like to me, that Yuna from the off was supposed to be the main character, but at the last minute some idiot decided that they had to have yet another pre-teenage blonde mopped hippy idiot BOY instead.

I'll keep writing this as I go through with the video and might make some changes throughout
Sin 26 : Wrong, just speak to people in Kilika (especially the blitzball player in his house) and you'll find one.
Sin 47 : The two boats have different names. Similar doesn't mean same.
Sin 63 : He can't. You can try, it won't budge.
Sin 76 : Because she knows Auron was her father's guardian and Jecht too. Tidus already mentionned that Jecht is his father. Logical.
Sin 80 : Religion has nothing to do with sports. It's not like blitzball is sponsored by Yevon's cult. Also, how do you think blitzball spheres work ? With magic ? I'd rather say with machina indeed.
Sin 83 : I wouldn't kidnap someone in public. Maybe, you know, drag her away then drug her so she has no opportunity to respond.
Sin 96 : Well yes, there is a difference between seasonal leagues and tournaments. It happens in real life too.
Sin 99 : He could just introduce himself as Jecht's friend.
Sin 105 : You already said that the Pilgrimage is a sham so what is preventing the people from Yevon to restrict these to only when Sin is active ? (pure conjecture from my part)
Sin 113 : Summoners were a thing 1000 years ago.
Sin 129 : Yuna, Lulu and Rikku spoke in private so, at this point, Yuna knows that Rikku is her cousin.
Sin 131 : Seymour is half human, half Guado.
Sin 142 : Well, you see him resisting in the same cutscene.
Sin 180 : I'm pretty sure many people in real life wouldn't be able to announce to others the future death of one of their most important person.
Sin 187 : I'm pretty sure Sin spawns aren't are glued to the ground.
Sin 201 : In my opinion, this is the biggest sin of all people who think they are FFX fans. I'll ask one simple question : Which was the machina city and summoners city in Spira 1000 years ago between Bevelle and Zanarkand ? If you answered Zanarkand for machina city, you understood nothing about the story since it's the reverse. So it makes total sense that so many machinas are present in Bevelle.
Sin 227 : Are you kidding ? "People of the North Pole" is one of the best soundtrack in the FF series.
Sin 233 : Sharing non war associated technologies with other big cities is a thing.
Sin 234 : I'm pretty sure the war started for a reason. Maybe say, the danger of the summoners's powers ?
Sin 240 : As inconsistant as your way to write Yevon.
Sin 243 : The way Auron was transported to Bevelle is explained just a bit later. How did Auron aged ? What about Tidus then ? Yes, something about the dreamers.
This wall of text was written by a FFX fan with no ill reason, take it or not.

A lot things that makes this video outright wrong. First, "There's no one else who suffers from Sin's toxin in the entire game." I guessed he missed the guy in one of the houses in Killika.
About the Sending, and how there are few summoners to do them. There ARE a lot of fiends in Spira, so that tracks, not something wrong.
Auron and Jecht BOTH guarded Braska during Braska's Pilgrimage, so Yuna knows Jecht knew Auron, and was telling Tidus that Braska's other guardian (Auron) was in Luca. Yuna was telling Tidus about Auron being there, so maybe they could get answers about Jecht.
About the Al Bhed being participants in the tournament in Luca, there could be some things that cross religious and cultural bounds. Is the Al Bhed participating any stranger than the Soviets participating in the Olympic Games?
\About the Al Bhed kidnapping of Yuna: First, again, since Yuna's link to the Al Bhed is explained later, they may not have kidnapped her. Second, the demands could (and probably were) a smokescreen.
"Yuna's Al Bhed heritage should be common knowledge." Except Yevon has a bad habit of covering up bits that they don't like. Look at Auron's reaction to Braska's statue in Djose.
And Wakka disliked the Al Bhed even before his brother's death.
The season just started with the championship game. No, it started with the Luca opener.
"Just have a bunch of summoners complete their pilgrimage during the Calm so they can be ready as soon as Sin returns." That journey is dangerous, and every summoner CHOOSES to do the pilgrimage. They are not forced (or even coerced) into it.Note, there have been FIVE High Summoners in the 1000 years Sin has existed, so trying to prepare is extremely risky, and who's to say it hasn't been tried before. This is the story about Yuna's and Tidus' journey, and the others are backstory. Important, but a side tangent to the main story.
Actually, the reveal that Yevon is corrupt is completely separate to the summoner's pilgrimage. Just because he met with Yunalesca doesn't mean he knows about Sin's origin. Just wait a bit, and you will see that he doesn't find out about how Sin is reborn until AFTER Braska defeats sin.
"...there are no competing religions so this is completely useless." A scene from I, Jedi sums it up perfectly. Corran Horn and Exar Kun are discussing the Force. "You kill everyone who opposes you. Who's left?" "The faithful." "From which arises a rival" "Which I destroy." They want strengthen the faithful, and get rid of those who are harboring doubts.
"Who sent the dead before summoners became a thing a thousand years ago?" Summoners have always existed, Zanarkand was full of them. In fact, it was the (almost universal trope) war between magic and technology that started Sin.
"It's only due to special circumstances that Yuna's pilgrimage is even difficult." No, all pilgrimages are difficult. Yuna's is just more difficult. And again, summoners have to pray in every temple.
"Even with the solemn duty of sacrificing themselves for the good of Spira weighing on their backs, summoners can be super compeditive over it." Would you be, if you had the chance to be remembered for a thousand years?
"How are machina any worse than magic?" The difference is you don't need any skill to pick up a gun and shoot it, but it takes a training to learn and use magic.
Yuna has the final say on who she wants to be her guardian (as explained in Killika). And Wakka would be the only one who would object. Everyone else knows about Yuna's heritage.
"Auron should have been sent as well." THE VERY NEXT SCENE (which I noticed is cut) EXPLAINS WHY AURON IS STILL ON SIPRA!!!!!!!! Duty binds him.
Might want to wait a bit before putting counters that are later explained by the story. Or do a bit of thinking. I've seen his several videos, and the creator seems to lack a certain skill of critical thinking.
The one slight redeeming factor about this video is he realized why the "Laughing scene" is there. He still tagged it, though. I was watching this video just to see if he would miss the point, and after he missed a lot of other things, I was surprised he actually got the point of that scene. About 2/3s of the way through, and it's obvious this guy is an idiot producing videos to bash a popular game.

Jecht is portrayed as being a meat head but he had the intelligence to come up with the plan that would ultimately end the cycle of Sin's rebirth. Sin figured that Tidus would act just like he did. As an outsider who doesn't understand why everyone is going along with all this nonsense. When he found out that he would become Sin, he decided to use Tidus to finish the job he started. Convince the world that the cycle needs to be broken, and use anything you can to do it. Tidus asked the questions, he pushed the unconventional thinking, and Jecht knew that he would do it.
The only part of it that is a plot hole is that there is nothing to suggest that Jecht could have known or found out that the Final Aeon could exert mental control over Sin for any period of time after becoming the new Sin. She was the one character that the localization team could not afford to screw up, considering she has more spoken dialogue than any other character and the plot for something like 80% of the game revolves entirely around her. And their plan to ensure the success of Square's first foray in the fully-voiced gaming is to settle upon on a first-time voice actress who can't deliver a sincere-sounding line to save her life. Half the time she sounds like she's asleep and the other half it sounds like the she is sitting in the recording booth thinking to herself, "This voice means that I'm _angry._ This is how angry people sound, right?" when she is reading her lines.
