HUGE thanks to Nick for showcasing his awesome ARRMA TLR Tuned Typhon! This is a buggy i have wanted to check out for some time now and it doesn't disappoint! What do you think of the TLR Roller? Better than the RTR version or do you prefer that? Cheers for watching and if you enjoyed todays video be sure to subscribe! 😎👍
Great shout and thing to mention about running it standard until you know it really well. Become irritated with aspects of it or in areas you know it should be capable of performing better in then go to the manual to dial it in! Sounds like an awesome manual. Teaching about suspension geometry etc too. Great video lads and an awesome car hahaha!
I just got the RTR version of the TLR tuned version and absolutely love it so far. Haven't used it that much yet and only on 4s. The only change I made was to put slicks on it since I mostly just have pavement in my neighborhood. It's plenty fast like that for now and even having not changed any suspension settings or anything else at all I think it is the perfect buggy. For me anyway. It is kind of a tie between that and the Kyosho Tenacity. At this moment the Tenacity is a bit better for me just because of the size being a 1/10 and the limited space o have around my house. Can't wait to get them in their true terrain and really open them up to see how they do. Even then I think it will still be really close. If you can't decide whether or not to get the TLR Typhon I say do it. You can't really go wrong with the choice. I probably don't need all the tunability of the TLR version but it has the cool factor which is just as important!
That's a great buggy and then you loaded it up with an excellent power combo👍. Plenty of good times to come with that beauty. Plus the tree slap was awesome!!
I have the Hobbywing Max 6 ESC & 4985 1650kv motor combo in my Kraton EXB. It a excellent upgrade over a 1515 4074 truggy motors, so much more torque. It would be crazy fun in a 1/8 buggy. I didn’t have to change the motor mount to fit the larger motor in the Kraton, that’s a relief. Other 1/8 scale RC’s, I’d have to buy a 1717 (50mm can size) motor mount conversion.
Nice vid. I've had my TLR for 6 months now and it's my new favorite RC (out of a dozen or so I own). I went with the Spektrum 150A ESC and 2050kv motor. Mostly because I like the telemetry as I use a Spektrum DX5 Pro radio. With stock gearing on 6S I've made 64MPH on the street. The stock tires are good on hard, packed oval tracks and OK on the street. You need some tires with more knobs for that loose stuff.
@@derekquinones8614 If you can afford it, go for it. It's not like having a spare motor laying around is a bad thing. That's how I usually explain to the wife why I have a drawer full of motors, LOL.

I fitted this combo into my Typhon V5 - Brilliant on tarmac but untamable on dirt..You can only get half trigger no matter what pinion or diff oils you're running, It got to the stage where it was really ticking me off, so I went back to the 2050 with an 18 tooth pinion, Stock spur (50 Tooth) running dual high RPM fans, 300KF 500KC 200KR - Its brutally quick, The nose stays down and can be run on any surface. The Max 6 is overkill for the Typhon. Blowing tyres everytime I took it out was an absolute pain IMO. I persevered for 2 months with it.
I love my Typhon, I would like the 6s tho it really does move, I like that TLR sexy A F like the adjustment side of it, thanks for your upload mate 👍🙏🐱
I would love to have an area like that to run my cars on. Nothing more than just baseball fields close by and maybe a private track or two. So i just pit slocks on all my cars and hit the road :-)
Awesome video fair shout that TLR is a scorcher , been looking at a typhoon 🌀 soon as I've got used to my Vorteks. Are you guys from South Wales by any chance ??? I'm in the valleys ( tonypandy ) and the accent seems like Cardiff / Newport maybe . I'm always looking for someone to bash and run with .
Nick is originally from Cardiff I believe. I'm originally from East London but we both live in Essex now and that's where this was filmed. Me and nick got chatting on Msuk forum and set up a bash one day. Now we meet at least once a month with another mate of ours called Ant :) Its so much more fun when there is a few of you! Worth asking about on Msuk to see if anyone is local to you as im sure there are loads of people on there from wales! Cheers
Nice! I had a Castle 8s combo so I tossed that in mine. I also tossed the Mojave arms, axles and wheels on her, she bashes around a lot better, good air control and better handling in our rough terrain.
Hyper is a lot more. The Hyper will def be tougher than the standard Typhon as far as the Chassis but maybe nit tougher than the TLR. If I remember the Hyper is almost 700.00 so if you already have the motor and electronics I would definitely go with the TLR. I love Ho Bao though and they are one of the most underrated RC companies. I would consider the TC Radix 6 as well.
@@jayhow997 The hyper VSE is a very solid choice. I love mine and like @Jayhow said its cheaper here in the UK. Very durable and can take some serious abuse! Not as adjustable as the TLR but no doubt still very capable on the track! Check out my VSE videos on the channel!
Why do 90 percent of rc car drivers keep pressing the trigger on off when they drive. Triggers there to be controlled and to be smooth. Not on off on off on off. Even the sound of the drivers doing it annoys me 😂
I'm a year or 2 late for a reply lol. I do the same. On off on off the throttle. The car seems to track better that way. When I hear others do it it makes me nuts lol. I tried to drive nice and smooth and times are slower around the track and harder to drive for me. If most of us do it it's gotta be the best way 😅.

this location is a death trap for a car with that much power. great video. great driving.
Love my tlr typhon, I put a hobby wing 2600kv and 150 esc combo in it. I nicknamed it hammer because it's my perfect tool for the track outback.
Thats awesome!!
@@beyondRC I have the mega brushed also, picked it up on sale. Going to put a castle combo in it.

Im an arrma fan!! But! At the end of day you wouldn't tell the difference save money...stock typhon is already beast

the wltoys 124008 shell looks so like the pink typhon, even looks red white and blue from some angles. but the shape is 100% the same
The TLR typhon also comes RTR with spektrum electronics and a red white and blue body which looks a thousand times better than the pink and putple
