Imagine having so many RCs that you bought one as good as the TLR T roller and you never got around to doing anything with it. Stuff of dreams right there.
Me and my bro just got into RC with a pair of MJX hyper go's ....crazy how nice RC is nowadays. We just had easy to break gas ones as kids. These small ones can cartwheel at 70kph and not a scratch.
This is exactly my thoughts getting back into rcs as an adult lol. I broke my Nitro HPI all the time, I couldn't afford to fix it as a highschool kid hah. Now you get a cheap MJX that can go 20ft in the air without breakage 👍
Thanks for the look I’d love to get just a roller version I already have a Spektrum motor but it’s a great looking buggy the only problem is if those parts are aluminum once you hit a curb or something real hard try putting on you body your gunna wonder why it’s a pain. It’s because the shock towers bend. I’d definitely consider getting one I already have the Mojave 6s & Fireteam so it’ll fit right in.
I'm impressed that you can drive and talk so well! Ha! My son and I were at the track the other day, and it took considerable concentration to get around the track. We are bashers not racers, so we are used to open spaces where there is much more room for error. We love our Typhon!
Those are not for wing rigidity they are wing fences so that you can tune for more or less downforce or more of a braking effect to scrub jumps depending on the track conditions. You get them with good aftermarket racing wings like Proline and JConcepts Finisher wings. The wing fences are great tuning options.
Your gonna love it. The typhon is really not a bad track buggy at all. It handles great and drives very smooth an fast. Tuned rite it's a competitive rig.
Hi Marc, as always good content, I'm am owner many rc vehicles including a few Losi race kits and the so called TYPHON TLR which share no parts to any Losi buggy, the only connection is that Horizon Hobby own both brands, its true identiy is a Team DURANGO DEX8 / DNX8 buggys when Arrma RC and Team DURANGO were together as one company , I would class them as entry level race kits, all parts from the DEX /TYPHON TLR will swap right over, THE TYPHON 6 s is a basic form of DEX/TLR TYPHON just for bashing .
Perfect timing for this release! Was thinking of getting into 1/8 buggy racing and was looking into one of these. Would love to see you make a video seeing if purchasing this and upgrading it as time goes on is worth it for racing. Or as a beginner should I just save and spend a bit more on a competitive chassis (Tekno, Mugen, Sworkz etc) 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’m in love with mine as well it’s so fun to drive, do you know by chance When I put the throttle trim to 100 I almost get this “throttle sticking” issue. Won’t brake or stop, I have to flip it to make it stop. It gets scary haha, only on 4s too smh
I built a TLR roller and it also pushes at the track. I don't know tuning that well so I haven't fixed it. Do you think the TLR is heavy compared to a Tekno or other more race oriented buggy? I think it might be just watching other guys at the track. But I love driving the Typhon TLR.
FYI. Unless u have a track where ppl are racing these. There is no point. I bought a non tlr typhon. Had to putt around on my dirt Laneway as there is zero traction nor control. Took it to the road and melted the tires off in under 10mins. Typhon has skinny tires. To put wider ones on you need to either buy hub extenders or arms shafts etc etc from a Kraton or senton on all 4 corners lol. I live in Canada. The final price to my door was. 175$ M2c 15mm hub adapters and 145$ for tires and uh 20$ for a screw remover kit cause holy loctite. Also the full m2c basher build we all see is a 900$ upgrade… The 2.8 proline tires went to hell asap on this 1/8 scale as well so I tossed my notorious tires on it. And uh now it mines while be a notorious sooo idk
@@Clavitz1nope, if you can get a 6S rtr Typhon, go for it. No sure what this guy is doing to his but I’ve been running mine for 2.5 years and love it. Amazing on dirt and short grass or even a skate park. Flies beautifully and it’s insanely fast. Sure it will struggle on thick grass or very rocky dirt but that’s due to size. Amazing buggy
I wanted this car but unfortunately I had to pass due to my 2 3s batteries not being able to fit in it. Fingers crossed they address that problem with the next Typhon 1/8 RC
Mark send me over your roller and whatever electronics you want in that bad boy and I'll put it together for you. I like working on them almost as much as driving. I would be tickled pink to help you out. Just throwing it out there. Thanks for all the great content my man.
I love Mt version 2 much better. Everything under the body is black. The steering servo is better with a 20kg instead of 18kg plus the fast turning. Love the version 2!
This is a good vehicle for sure. Mark, I suggest you reach out to Team Corally USA and see if they will send you an Asuga. Many RC RUclipsrs are claiming it is THE best RC buggy/basher/racer on the market currently and it's $30 cheaper than this Typhon. Check out Razor RC's review on it. It is superb.......
Understeer, but it seems the steering isnt linear, once the starts to steer it oversteers. Im pretty sure the servo saver is loose out of the box. Messing with it next video.
Am a tekno eb48 buggy racer and all but am excited to see how this thing really is at the track i would say however stop bashing it man have some Respect for what the company believe to be a racing buggy lol
I’ve had the first tlr typhon and yes it’s a good rc, no serious racing but a good basher. Other than that I will not buy any Horizon products anymore. A company that tells you your channel sucks and you don’t bring any value to the hobby and community, is not a company I want to support any further. I think this is so disgusting. Besides this they kill so many small rc shops around Europe.
They told you that? Or did they decline to give you free RC's to make videos on and say your channel was to small and not exclusively RC content? Buy what makes you happy. Ask Traxxas for free trucks and see what they say. I'm genuinely curious. If they'll even respond.
$629.99 is the normal price you can find anywhere, including direct from HH . Those fake retail list prices that HH always posts should be illegal. It's worse than those fake black Friday sales where the 'sale' price is the same as the regular price.
Right! I got mine for $619! Everywhere I looked they were $629! $700+ is insane for this! Especially if someone doesn't have charger or batteries! Dude got hosed if he paid that much lol! Knowing Mark he didn't!
That high price was one particular Hobby Shop making a mistake or price gouging. The official retail price is $629.99, unless it happened to be higher when it first released.
Its an ok starter car you can either keep to bash the shit out of or build a drag/speed run car out of or sell to another newbie trying to check out what racing is like. Can it compete? Sure. It takes a good bit of tuning, weight reduction, and driver mod but at the end of the day why put yourself at a disadvantage with something thats harder to tune and drive? Just my opinion. That being said, i love my tlr tuned typhon. You're struggling to get around the track because the stock tires are not good. Lol.
And tlr means nothing, everyone I see says it's unracable, popalong rc kicked it to the curb, and they had an actual tlr race buggy,so know this one pushes bad
Arrma chassis really aren't a fragile as some channels make them out to be. I used to believe that also. Then I got one. I haven't bought a plastic chassis anything since.
That Arrma EXB shock standoff is the biggest downfall of the TLR Typhon, very fragile. I broke so many of them at Indy before I sold off my Typhon TLR. Find an upgrade!
Yes I broke 2 my first 3 battery packs at the local track! I went with the HOT RACING hardened steel standoffs & haven't broke 1 it's been 2 months! You just have to drill out the shock tower cause they are 3mm kit comes with a 3mm drill bit!
Imagine having so many RCs that you bought one as good as the TLR T roller and you never got around to doing anything with it. Stuff of dreams right there.
For real…send me that roller I’ll put it together and get it racing 😭

I have that same RTR car and believe your correct it is a BEAST! You have to race it on 4s.
BEST Bad landing 😅.. you're absolutely correct about "Lawn dart". Could've broken more parts and would have to repair the track..
I run the same electronics in both my Tekno Eb48.4 and my ET48 2.0 a program card is a must have 👍
Yes yes yes , hope you make a series on this car. Track vids please

Probably my favorite video of yours to date....the typhon 6s is a different buggy it's way more then just another Ebuggy
Get some of the arrma 6s blx standoffs when you break them it’s usually just a new screw needed not the entire stand off
Would love to see a shootout against the kyosho mp9e or mp10e rtr and losi xe rtr versions to see how the tlr stack up!!!!
I was impressed with the Typhon i got off of Facebook market place. It was a 3s but dude converted it to 6s and it its been beyond great.
I put a hobby wing g2 and swapped out some trl parts for carbon parts. Shock standoff upgrades are a must with arrmas anyways.
I absolutely loooooove mine!!! I used a castle mmx8s esc with the castle 1520 motor. Thing absolutely rips

Good choice! I have all three on display and run a Arrma Typhon on 4s and it rips! Crazy on 4s.
Its a must have!
even if you already have a typhon the tlr is a nice upgrade!
Arlington HobbyTown rules!!🏆
4s is the sweet spot for the TLR Typhon. Why would you even try it on 6s at a track when an E Buggy would only be on 4s?
Probably just for fun, otherwise the box summed it up as well, 4s for racing and 6s for bashing.
Love the jumps
That was unreal, fun is not a big enough word. Great video Mark
That jump awesome

thats awesome, i love 1/8 buggies.
I think it's a great buggy/platform for people getting into the hobbie, plug and play.
I'm loving all the ARRMA content on your channel!
The shock stand off break easy
On the other one you need to put the equivalent parts of traxxes on it and see which one handles and runs better. Just a thought.
Awesome man love the typhon ouch on that shock but easy fix

I love my 3s typhon. Even on 3s it's crazy fast.
Can get a heavier servo saver spring from arrma
