*After Kiryu vs Yagami, and after the events of the Kaito Files*
Kaito and Higashi were beyond jealous when Yagami had shared with them his experience with fighting the Dragon of Dojima himself. They would've done anything to see the legend of the Tojo Clan, and they've berated themselves over and over for rejecting his offer in coming with him.
Kaito sighed, dropping to his chair and sighing in frustration at recalling that memory. "I really shouldn't have blown Tak like that. How was I supposed to know he'd be fighting Kazuma Kiryu himself? Man, this sucks..."
His thoughts were interrupted, hearing his phone beep. He fished it out and saw he had a message from an unknown number.
*"Masaharu Kaito. I need to discuss you with something for a job. Please come to this address?"*
He rose a brow at this message, having a funny feeling that this could be just a catfish. He placed down his phone on the desk, just as Yagami walked into the room.
"Oh, hey Tak. You finished that case already?"
"Yep. Just a regular case, thankfully. No conspiracies connected to it. How about you, what have you been up to?"
Kaito shrugged, gesturing to his phone. "Just got a random text message from a job, but I'm ignoring it. Could be a prank, for all I know."
Yagami looked over and had a smile on his face once he saw the number. "Nah, I think you should definitely go."
"Seriously?" Kaito asked, looking at his partner with a questioning gaze.
"Yeah. Call it a gut feeling, but this is an opportunity you shouldn't waste."
"Well, if you're sure, Tak. Alright, I'll give this a go. Catch you later then."
Kaito walked out of the room, never noticing the smile on Yagami's face. "Well, you wanted to fight Kiryu-san, didn't you? You're get your wish."

Kaito looked around the construction site, wondering where his client-to be was at. And why the hell would they ask to meet here of all places? Why not a bar, or at their house, or something.
After a few minutes of searching, Kaito sighed in aggravation. "Figured it was a prank. Tak definitely owes me a drink..."
Turning around, he prepared to leave, when-
"Masaharu Kaito. You've come."
Kaito stopped in his tracks, slowly turning around as a man stepped out from behind a pillar. The ex-yakuza felt his eyes go wide, looking at the man in shock. That suit, that hair, and that scowl on his face...!
"Holy shit! Y-You're Kazuma Kiryu!"
Kiryu had a small smile on his face, nodding in confirmation. "That's right. Yagami told me a lot about you, and I grew curious when he told me how you fight. It reminded me of a lot back then. Which is why... "
Kiryu stripped himself off his top and showed Kaito his magnificent physique. Having gone through years of training, abuse and so many knives and bullets. The Dragon of Dojima cracked his knuckles, snapping Kaito out of his reverie.
"Masaharu Kaito! I wish to get to know you better the best way I know... Through my fists."
Kaito couldn't believe what was happening. Kiryu Kazuma. THE Kiryu Kazuma, was challenging him to a battle. He fully knew that he was gonna lose but still! An opportunity like this was hard to come by! Like hell he was gonna let this pass.
Kaito grinned and responded by tearing off his shirt, showing Kiryu the fruits of his own labors, having gone through its own share of abuse.
"It...would be an honor. I'm ready when you are, Kiryu-san!"
"Good." Kiryu shifted his stance, getting ready. "Now, STEP UP!"
Kaito roared like a beast and rushed forward, throwing a punch. Kiryu easily caught it and forced back his opponent. Kaito recovered and delivered a savage headbutt against the Dragon of Dojima, but this only made him take a few steps back.the both of them roared and butted heads fiercely.
*MASAHARU KAITO*
The force pushed them both back a good distance from each other as they relaxed and shifted their footwork.
*Defeat Kaito*
*Like my brother used to say... Bring that shit, Kaito!*
I like that Yagami convince Kaito to go. he already knew what's up
Kaito knowing that he was gonna lose but still fighting because he admires Kiryu that darn much is so incharacter and wholesome. This might be a new favorite of mine.
*Post Battle*
After a long and drawn out battle Kaito physically exhausted and nearly at the verge of passing out roared to the skies as he readies a full punch giving it his all
Kiryu is winded but certainly not tired he readies a fist of his own and charges straight at Kaito
Both men exchanged a heavy blow to their heads
Despite his best efforts Kaito falls defeated ending the battle their and then
After a couple of minutes Kaito awakes to Kiryu waiting for him to get up
"You're finally up" Kiryu says as he lends Kaito a hand "I've heard murmors about you to the grape vine and from Yagami how you protected those you loved with strength and passion, as such I wanted to see if those were true"
Kaito grasp Kiryu's arm as Kiryu help him stand
"So did I prove it?" Kaito asked
"You certainly did, You're actions remind me of my early days back in the 80's you're passion is one of a man with a heart of gold Kaito san" Kiryu answers
Kaito smiles "Hearing that coming from THE Kiryu Kazuma himself i'm glad I'm kinda embarassed actually"
"Say Kiryu sir what happened to you? I heard you died back in 2012 hard to believe to be honest" Kaito asked
"It's a long story that i cannot tell and besides you're a detective you'll probabbly piece the puzzle yourself" Kiryu responds
"Looks like i'll have a personal case i'll be diving into, might aswell invite Higashi along for the ride"
"Well this my time to leave Kaito san tell Yagami I said hi" Kiryu slowly walks away from the construction site
"See ya round Kiryu san"
@@lionelk.y7233 Meanwhile, everyone at the bottom of the construction site were gazing up, wondering what was going on as they saw nothing but red and orange glows. As Kaito descends to the ground, his orange aura waned, after which he gave a discerning look towards the bystanders, as if they thought someone died while he held his wounds from the fight. Most people glanced at him, but a select few caught a glimpse of a shadow below the site, of which it had a red aura before it faded. They could not put a finger on what’s going on. They wanted to say something, but no luck. To end the day strong, Kaito turned around and waved at the figure with a sheepish grin. It waved back before turning back and strolled back into the darkness.

Considering they even dropped several hints of some Kaito’s moves being inspired by a “Tojo Legend” that became a chairman I can definitely see this happening

@@zovinchen3281 a late to the party, but yeah read the skill description, some move inspired by Yagami, some move Kaito got from his aniki telling the legendary yakuza story..
Every from Gaiden: this was a canon event.
Considering that Kaito is also ex-Tojo Clan, I wouldn't be shocked if he knew of Kiryu's existence. Heck, they both even share the same moveset.
Actually one of his EX Actions alludes to this

It's been awhile since the office been this lively. Mikiko wasted no time ripping Tak over the phone about our nasty office, apparently she found some critters bunking in with us... I know Higashi enjoyed every moment of it, his worst enemy getting ripped apart by a damn lioness, never seen him wheeze that much... Heh, sorry buddy... at the very least, Jun's busy so we won't have him rubbing more salt into your wound...

Everyone went silent that moment, and focused on the door... we have a client it seems...
"I hope I didn't intrude at the wrong time..."
"Oh! Of course not sir, umm... make yourself at home. I'm Kaito, co-proprietor of the Yagami detective agency..."
I could have sworn Higashi froze up as I rambled to our guest. It was like he saw a ghost or something... had to signal him to pour tea for us... but you know, he looked somewhat familiar, or perhaps he just gave me Sadamoto's vibes, seemed like a shady rich guy... can't wrap my finger around it though...
"10 Million in cash?!"
"Yeah... it isn't much to me, but I'm sure it'd be fair compensation for your services. I'd be more than willing to add on if you wish."

Weird guy to say the least, pretty much forced me into taking his gig... off to the Kamurocho Hills I guess. At least Charles is around the corner, so Higashi could lend a hand if things go south...
Fast forward till nightfall, atop the Kamurocho Hills, the wind brushed off the man's hair as he exhaled the cigarette smoke... he turned around, and I was there.
"So you came... looks like you're a man of your word after all."
"I don't really have much choice do I? After what you did... I'd be a shit detective if I just left you here."
He smiled, and with his back facing me he ripped his jacket off, revealing the Dragon within...
"No way... you're a yakuza..."
"That was a long time ago. In fact, I'd say my yakuza self died... Now, I'm like you, someone with a second, no third chance to start afresh..."
"Okay... Guess we got that in common..."
"We've got more in common than you think. When I first saw you, I thought of a younger version of myself. In this city of sin, you and your friend Yagami stop at nothing to do the right thing... so I had to meet you for myself."

"Now, given your current occupation and your past, I think you could handle yourself in a fight, which just so happens to be something I too excel at. So, my request to you, how about we spar for abit?"
"Well, guess I don't really have a choice do I... still, before we go at it, how do you know so much, or your name at least?"
"I think it be better off leaving it a mystery... say, if you beat me, I'd let you in on this."
"Well, you've got my interest... shall we?"
"Don't hold back!"
After the fight...
Goddamn, I think he broke every bone in my body...
"Guess this mystery stays this secret for another day... it was an enlightening experience for me. You were a worthy opponent... I'll see you around."
Well, it wasn't my finest moment to say the least... the view was beautiful though, too bad I couldn't enjoy it that long. Turns out Higashi, Mikkiko, and Jun were watching... can't lie, it sucks when you're the one laying on the ground...
On the bright side, it look's like Higashi found out about that man... explain's why he was a statue when we first met him and now he couldn't stop talking about it... could have sworn it was the longest elevator ride I've ever taken... At the very least I somewhat got what I wanted. Still, to think I've fought the legendary Dragon of Dojima... was pretty damn amazing.

I think Kaito is up there with Akiyama, but yeah still demolished by modern Kiryu. It would be a much closer fight if was 1988 kiryu

@@MikeThorton closer fight for sure, but I don’t know how close it’d be, since 1988 kiryu is basically on the same physical strength level as saejima thanks to beast, faster than akiyama with rush, and with drunk brawler? Sheesh, kaito’s got his work cut out for him.

Pretty sure every man has the same body type and every girl has the same body type in this series. The only time variations was visible imo was in Yakuza 5.

I feel that now that Kiryu's passed the main character mantle onto Ichiban, he should become a secret boss in the judgement games like Amon. No crazy gimmicks though, just fighting Kiryu.

Because both of them are actually undercover law enforcement officers send to infiltrate Tojo Clan and both of them are ordered by their higher-ups to do their dirty work example: (Munakata to Arai and Bando to Soma).
I feel like Kaito would probably rival Saejima better in terms of strength and stamina they are pretty alike, but when it comes to Kiryu who I think is an All-Rounder, it doesn't really leave a lot to consider
