Nice video, good mood. You can take off the front ring to deal with the filter adapter. It's not something obvious, looking at the lens, but it's there, just turn anticlockwise to desingage the bayonet link.
Thanks Ricky! It worked. Outer ring removed. I realized now thats how you attach the self opening lens cap. Looks a little less pretty but for the purpose of this trip. It’s super helpful! Thanks again.
Only shot a few so far and it’s not too bad! I’ve mainly shot street and cityscapes. But I plan on taking it out to shoot strictly portraits soon. I’ll probably make a video about it. Thanks for the question.
i still use this camera's cousin, the LX100ii - it does great a small gimbal, an old Feiyutech G6 max - and looks better than my iPhone video. But lately, I'm lazy and reach for Insta360 Ace Pro for personal / fun video. I was initially hoping for a little more out of this updated camera - but I saw another YT review compare actual files of the 8 vs a Q2 - the little camera did great. The Lx100ii had the same lens retraction issue with a filter in place - they really should have addressed that. Nice review
Hey DA! Thanks for your experience and insight, a really nice and fair comment! Another subscriber showed me how to removed the outer ring so now it works perfect with the ND when I need it! Appreciate you watching the video!
You are absolutely right! I don’t think many people are buying the D-LUX 8 for video. But since it has video option, I wanted to test it and in a pinch I think it does a good job. And the optical zoom of the Leica is much much better than the digital zoom of the pocket 3. Thanks for watching.
Hey john. It has no log. I used the natural colour profile and low contrast adjustment. (Camera had standard, vivid and natural with contrast options). Then i dod a simple colour grade to my liking.
@@john3Lee no problem. I think your Q3 will have so much for flexibility with the video footage since its 10bit. I hope I get a chance to work with the Q3 one day! Let me know how the video turns out for you on your Q3.
I mean you are right. With a contrast detect system it will never be as good. I the right situation it’s totally good but forcing it to work the way a Sony would handle situations is no bueno.

It's not a vlogging camera, but for everything else it's fine.
I agree. Absolutely not a camera to vlog with.
The camera couldnt focus on your face even for a second 😂
Great review. Definitely an interesting camera, that I would love to check out in the future
Definitely has its limitations but super fun to use and I really like the images from this camera.
How is the D-Lux 8 on portrait photography? Thanks!

amazing shots
Hey what's up SEB! heading to your channel now!
Isn’t the Osmo Pocket 3 better for video? Why do you need the D-Lux in addition to this? (For video)
Ok, I suppose the zoom is a good feature.

Did you use any of the log movie profiles? Thanks in advance

@@MichaelNgvyen Thanks - I have not yet shot movie mode on my Q3 yet _ I'm reading as much as possible to learn - best wishes to you

Bad idea!
colors are fine, but the hunting and facial recognition is distracting and unreliable.
