In my opinion (disclaimer : I am by no means an expert), iPhones15 pro and higher can only somewhat "compete" with regular cameras on ultra-wide and wide angle lenses, let's say 12-24mm, and on medium apertures like f/3-8. When you start using higher focal lenses on the regular camera, and lower apertures, the difference gets bigger and bigger, and the iPhone can't really compete, especially on those low aperture lenses like f/1.4-1.8 and say 50-85mm. Subject separation and bokeh, as well as the sharpness, becomes so much better on a regular camera. I would say regular cameras with varying lenses are just more versatile, you can get a much wider variety of results and styles by tweaking the settings and lenses. On the iPhone 15 pro, you're pretty much stuck on the 24mm and unique aperture if you want something of decent quality, but it does do very well at what it does though, all things considered. A good one trick pony. Also obviously, the biggest advantage of the iPhone is the portability and how easy it is to just grab it and take shots. The low weight make it especially good for wide angle gimbal shots where you can just move it around in one hand while regular camera gimbal setups are usually quite heavy and won't make you go unnoticed. One of the issue I see in videos comparing iPhone footage and a regular 3000-5000€ camera setup footage, it only compares them in the type of shots the iPhone is good at (wide angle shots and low blur/subject separation needed). So it can be misleading in a sense to a beginner who's trying to decide whether he should shoot on an iPhone or invest in a regular camera and lenses. Because if you start adding shots where a regular camera is much better at, and iPhone's kinda lacking, well it obviously shows a big difference.

Stumbled across your video whilst reading about this camera, great work sir. I honestly don’t understand why people are even concerned about megapixels in modern cameras nowadays. Besides any editing software can now upscale the resolution and for every days user these cameras are more than capable of capturing fantastic images that can be printed in very decent print sizes.

This was such a nice watch! Brilliant film making with great information. You guys make me want to go there! You guys sold it to me! Will be watching the other parts for sure!

Really my only gripes are just the touch settings, and the fact that the battery isn't replaceable unless you do some warranty voiding methods or buy multiple battery grips to hold a decent charge down the line.

How does Nd filters work on this lens when using full frame? If I get a 55mm Nd filters will it work the same? I heard there might be issues

Did you notice that the focus issue started at 4:30 under the tree? Was it the minimum focus distance of 20mm or was it too dark?

Thanks for this review for the D-Lux 8. This is just precisely what I want. I small camera that I can bring anywhere and produces great photos.

I have this display and it is NOT better. Worse brightness, awful mono speaker, no webcam, much plastic, bad brightness uniformity, 4k vs 5k, the list goes on... I got it for like €450 and I like the taller aspect ratio, but it is NOT better overall and I am going switch to the Apple studio display eventually.

broo this was great! im def getting the 11mm now. Pulling off these kinds of shots out in public spaces without permission is like the biggest selling point for me lol i can only imagine the kinds of stuff im going to be able to pull off!

Pocket 3 is 2 steps forward, one step back. Max exposure time of 1 second is a big nono for me. I bought a second hand Pocket 2 and I’ll wait for the Pocket 4 (hoping for DJI to fix this big mistake by then).

I've had it for about 3 years. I do love how minimal it is, and that is has a luggage passthrough. I will say I think it leaves something to be desired in terms of comfort when loaded fully with w/ a full frame mirrorless and 2/3 lenses. Plus add the weight of a laptop, it gets a lot to carry around for a while with some basic straps and not even a sternum strap.
