When you made the flag, did you possibly build something like a bench on the bottom of the barrier stack and then destroy the bench prior to destroying the floor? This has always been the method I use; objects will always come crashing down unless you get them to float prior to actually destroying the foundation/roof tile beneath. It's just like how you'd stack farm tiles. Is it not letting you do that? I always forget these kinds of things when I take a break from a game for awhile. 😅
I think the ivy changed as a consequence of them fixing the bug where vines would perpetually float (undestroyable) and muck up areas for building. Before, ivy seemed to render as a two dimensional object and without the third axis, could not be selected for deletion without a wall behind it. This took away any possibility for collision detection and made it possible to stack it endlessly upon itself. However, it also made it impossible to select the vines unless you were facing the wall that it was attached to, and if you destroyed the wall without destroying the ivy first, the ivy would remain. They fixed ivy so that it can now be selected and removed, and because they did something to make it selectable, it's no longer virtually "transparent" in the way that allowed us to click through it and place another ivy, and another and another. I guess something can be "selectable" or "mergeable," but not both. I'm sad, because stacking ivy was one of the few ways to really break up monotony in a build and make it look impressive, even though that bug did make me anxious about placing too much. Now that I feel safe to throw it everywhere, it won't go "everywhere"! I know it was likely an accidental change, but I still hope they give us better wall decorating options in the future to solve that issue in more creative ways. Some classic architectural embellishments and natural details would be fantastic!

oh you know what… thats exactly what it was i forgot the benches 😭😭
yeah that makes some sense unfortunately :( the ivy was definitely a great decoration to add some dimension to walls and stuff, hope they find some way to fix it and allow stacking back!
