Very Cute. Thanks for sharing tutorial. I wanted to suggest hammering in nails using plyers to hold them, saves the fingers & this way you can also make sure they are the same height. Needle nose is good if you have them or even closepin.
@@breiteyesstudios I learned this trick from another women who could not drive nails in straight and always hit her fingers- OUCH!! Your nails will go in straight and they will be even because you can hammer down to the plyers. Make a mark on the plyers where you want them for the depth. Works really well for small nails, hard to hold on to.
The string I had was just some leftovers I had lying around! You can pick up any thin string at your local craft store! It needs to be thin enough to wrap around the nail heads. 😊 Hope that helped, thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for your kind words! The size nail I use is usually a 1 inch nail. As for type, I don't use any specific brand, just a generic kind. But make sure the nail heads are large enough for the string to wrap around them without falling off. Hope that helps! 🙂
I like the way that you presented the tutorial. Instructions as well as material needed were clearly explained, easy to understand and follow. Keep making more videos, you are good and can get even better at it. Subscribed. I hope to see some more tutorials from you.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words. I will definitely continue to make more tutorials like this in the future. Thank you for subscribing, I can't wait to show you whats coming up! 😊❤
Hi! Thank you so much. I just used a craft store string. It can come in a ball or just in a spool. No specific kind. You should be able to find it at a local craft store. Thanks for watching!
Hi! Thank you so much! The length of the nail depends on how thick your wood/ material is. I reccomend the nail head to be large enough that your string doesn't pop off of it while you are wrapping it, something with a good overhang. 🙂 Thanks so much for watching!
First time watching. I really want to learn how to do string art. I have a question. Where do you get your patterns and do you ever do just freestyle? How far apart do you place the nails? Thank you so much for this video. I think it will help me get started. Your cat is adorable. 😃
Thank you so much for watching! I usually just go on Google images or pinterest to find my patterns. You can type in "string art templates " and a bunch will pop up! I have not experimented that much with freestyle but I really need to! How far you place your nails apart really depends on the piece your doing. Some pieces are more detailed that you need them closer together, where some are more abstract and further apart. If you have any more questions let me know please! 😊
Hi! I actually received the yarn from the thrift store so I'm not sure where it came from! But its just a thin yarn. Thin enough to wrap around the nails 😄 Thanks for watching!
Hi ! First time trying string art, however I have a question. If I don’t have nails and a wooden board available, can I use a foam board/Cardboard and push pins? Great video anyways!!
Hi there! The piece of wood I used from this project was from Joann's! But you can use any type of wood, as long as it is thick enough to hold your nail without it puncturing the other side. Thanks so much for watching!
Hi there! I don't use a specific type of thread or string. Preferably something that is strong enough to wrap and pull. I got a lot of my material from the thrift store or secondhand so I don't have a specific brand that I would reccomend. Thank you for watching!
I've never done a name template before! You could always try to draw it on a piece of paper or even type the name out on a word document and enlarge the letters and print it out. 😊 At least that's what I would try! Thanks for watching!
Thank you, Heidi! I’m going to try this for my mom and sister for Mother’s Day and my sisters birthday!
Thank you for watching! 💜
Thank you! This was a very clear explanation of how to do the string art!
