That purple thing is supposed to hold your trays with ur diamonds in to keep them from falling and flipping over like what happened in the video I’ve been doing diamond paintings for years!
Absolutely it’s important to take frequent breaks from repetitive activities. I had severe RSI that took years to recover from and even now I do have problems with the same side. Listen to your bodies please. Trust me this condition is very hard to manage successfully.
I find diamond painting so relaxing and meditative. Time just flies by when I sit down to place those drills. ADD doesn't hinder my diamond painting, it helps me focus better than almost anything else besides coloring, of course! Beautiful finished piece.
I did a huge custom one for My grandparents. Cos of the detail the company suggested a size. Tbh it could have been bigger but the one they sent took me 6 months lol
I used to do diamond painting, and when I saw you pull that plastic sheet off completely, I swear I saw it in slow motion. I will say that the company you got it from must be super good quality, because after a few days of doing a painting, that sticky backing was starting to dry up on me. I basically live in my truck, and I just didn't have the ability to store my finished paintings or those in progress without damaging them, so I had to move on from them. But I did like doing them. Oh, and you are just like the rest of us, because we all get a wrong color going in the wrong location at some point, and with the size of that thing, your average for mishap went up exponentially.
I once got RSI crocheting for 8 hours straight for 2-3 days each day. So so impressed after 125hrs that you didn’t get it. What helpful tips from Dr Mike.
As someone who has been doing and enjoying diamond painting for 3 years especially kits from dac. I found this video to be painful to watch 😂 not hate, but especially when you pulled off the entire plastic i felt my heart skip a beat 😅 incredible video! ❤
Diamond art club is my all time favorite company to purchase from! I’m disabled and don’t work so diamond painting has really helped me fill my time with something that not only makes me happy but also relaxes me and helps with my anxiety tremendously! A few tips for anyone interested in this hobbie, 1 don’t take all of the plastic off unless you’re planing and changing it to release papers, 2 setting a hard deadline is not necessary for the most part…. All it usually does is force you to overwork on the kit and lead to a burnout and takes away the relaxing part of it, 3 if you find that the pens that come with the kit end up hurting your hands you can buy thicker pens and that really helps! Enjoy your diamond painting! ❤️
As a diamond painting veteran, I suggest taking your time with your next ones (if you plan to do more). Diamond painting is really a very relaxing marathon, not a dash. It is a hobby for me and work on it sporadically to avoid burnout or physical pain. I also suggest getting a wide variety of pen widths to avoid "writer's cramp" and having water nearby to drink at all times. Your painting turned out beautifully! I've never tried doing one quite that big but it's on my diamond painter's bucket list!
I absolutely love that we got a real demonstration of why ergonomics are important here, I think I tend to get really ambitious about projects sometimes and forget how much my hands & back are going to hurt! XD The finished art here is absolutely gorgeous, it really demonstrates why putting the work into ergonomics is REALLY worth it.
I work in a pub restaurant and they use some wooden skewers with a paddle like end and a flattish narrow cocktail stick opposite end I ask if I could take a few clean spare ones and was given a whole box well over two thousand of per box they are ideal for picking up mistakes without damaging the glue and I'm very new to diamond painting on my second project now first was a 30 by 30cm koala bear in a eucalyptus trees now I'm three quarters of the way through big Ben and our iconic red phone box with a small area of the houses of parliament so so addictive
I love diamond art club paintings! Working on my second dragon piece. I highly recommend if you plan to continue to pick up a higher quality pen with soft grip and solid metal tip. Saves the hand a lot of stress.
I feel so seen and understood with turning fun hobbies into a tortuous challenge! I just started my first cross stitch and bought one that was much larger than I'd considered. I'm one month in and have barely made a dent. I worked for 3 days straight through the day and night because I thought I'd be able to finish it in a week. I'm a month in tomorrow, and not even a quarter way through. I love not feeling alone in my obsession with my craft, so thank you!
As your 500th like, I must say what I liked about this video. The break in it when you engaged with a medical professional about the issues you were beginning to experience and wanting to prevent from getting worse was the moment I appreciated most. It brought such a nice well-rounded story about your diamond painting experience. Thank you!
Diamond Art Club is my favorite diamond painting company. They have amazingly high quality diamonds, the canvases are soft and the adhesive is poured glue, and most importantly they compensate the artists. There is a huge problem with stolen art images in the diamond painting world. Diamond Art Club, Dreamer Designs, Craftibly, Jaded Gem Shop and DIYMoon shop are all great quality and offer fully licensed kits. I diamond paint to relax and I don't usually get much time to do it so it tends to take me forever to finish a kit. There are all kinds of extras you can get to make the craft easier or more fun. Thank you for sharing this video
It was a challange that she set for herself. It doesn't mean you have to complete a piece of art or any project in the same time frame. I enjoy watching the genuine creation of these pieces. I've done large dimond paintings, and these struggles are real. So many creaters show the begining and the end product and cut out the middle. Making it seem like it's quick, simple, and painless, and that you can't mess it up, as they don't show that.
I recently got into diamond art. Loving it. One trick I find works for me is doing one section at a time. I peel the backing off only so many columns at a time...say 5..and it works for me and I don't get overwhelmed. Beautiful piece! Love your enthusiasm
I had a blast watching this and LEARNED something I didn't know about breaking up stuck diamonds! Just the other day I was asking how long it took people to finish these... thinking I was going too slow.... but watching you has inspired me knowing it just takes time! You're the best
Stuck diamonds are more common with square shaped ones. If you come across a lot of them than another good method is to put them into a plastic container with screw top lid, like one from pills or something similar, drip in few pennies or other small coins and shake them vigorously for 10-20 seconds.
I had a diamond art project and my canvas was like less than a quart of that one and it took me 1 entire month to complete. You are faster than I am sarah❤
This was so fun to watch! I have so much respect for the time you put into this. It takes me, like, a year to complete a diamond painting this large LOL! Also, in the beginning when you peeled off the entire plastic cover at once I almost had a heart attack! So glad you were able to get it back on XD
@@SarahRenaeClark I did because I kind of got back into diamond painting and I have to Peel off like a little tiny sections of it soalmost gave me a heart attack Never do it again OK
I love diamond painting! The best thing I can recommend is to buy a resin diamond painting pen. They are the same width as an Ohuhu marker and I find they put way less stress on my hand and wrist! Also getting a light pad to put under the canvas will help cut back on eye strain!
It's super impressive what you accomplished in a short amount of time. I absolutely love DAC kits! Diamond Painting was my life in 2022. It got me through 12 months of breast cancer treatment. Every day I'd work on a bit and I felt productive even though I was resting. I also found it to be one of the best hobbies to do while my physical condition was weak. It didn't take too much out of me and I didn't have to think too hard. It's become one of my most favourite hobbies of anything I've done! Thanks for a great video.
I did a 3 meter one - I don't think I ever timed how long I did it for or how many diamonds it was but I got it just before Christmas and was done before the summer holidays were over. So I think it took 4ish weeks and i didn't have a multi tool so it was one by one and it was predominantly a single colour which was a bit demotivating.
The Oscar goes to .....Sarah for her patience, her sense of humor and because she nearly broke her hands palms and fingers. But it turned out beautifully !
Just finished a 110K one from DIamond Art Club called Mountain Castle. It's so gorgeous. I love the big ones myself and do them over several months. I love this one of Venice. Might have to add it to my collection. For folks that want to try this out, something I would suggest is a light pad. You put it underneath the painting and it helps illuminate the little symbols a lot. My eyes are kinda shot already so it really helps. I had the space so I bought a drafting desk. These can be angled so you are on a slant so that you don't have to bend over as much. I adore diamond painting and i hope you get to do more of it Sarah but at a slower pace :-D Thanks for a great vid!
Diamond painting seems goofy but it’s soooo relaxing ! I made one and framed it, I’ll sure make another soon. Even better than painting by number or coloring books. You are just focus on ONE SINGLE task and meditate.
When you spill you beads the easiest way to pick them up is with a damp finger...I lick mine and just tap on the spill they attach and you can just brush them off into the tray
I just finished the Beast, from Beauty and the Beast, you see it for a sec at 4:24. I usually struggle to find a design I actually like, but this diamond painting is just absolutely gorgeous and I'm in the process of framing it!! The Diamond Art Club quality is outstanding too, so much better than other diamond paintings I've done
Just imagine Sarah, you have double those diamonds in subscribers! Diamond painting is very addictive to finish. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one person complete a massive piece like that by themselves, usually it be like 3 or 4 people work something of that scale.😮 Props to you for sticking it out!!
my current DP is 100cm x 165cm (3ft x 5.5ft) with 264,000 drills.....most people I know complete typical DAC's like the one in this video in 1-3 months solo..there's a whole community of us on youtube...
Something that helps me with 5d diamond painting is to invest with a light board under the painting. It helps with reducing the strain on my eyes, and i bought through “ali express” large resin like pens that are curvy and feels better when you’re holding it and it comes with changing drilled heads with different sizes so you can pick as much as 10 diamonds at once.
Parchment paper is good replacement for the annoying plastic cover. Rolling it so your not stretching weird can help keep you from hurting. It does not matter if you work left right or upside down. The diamonds are square so it looks the same. Changing to a more ergonomic pen can also help. Having a tray holder with marked trays makes it quick to go to another color. Getting the painting on an angle can help prevent back pain. You get what you pay for. Some canvases are not as good as dac (diamond art club). When selecting you should look in reviews about the symbol quality. If it comes blurry you will have problems reading and putting down the duamonds. If you have a hard to read canvas use a light board under it. Some trays are better than others at separating the diamonds. Overall DAC is my favorite brand.
I'm working on a diamond art painting from Diamond Art Club in 26 x 26 segments and it really helps because I can only work on it during the week when my husband is out driving on the road. I use a card table to work on it with a light that is plugged into the computer. I find it really helps with being able to see the work without straining my eyes.
I like how you went to talk to a doctor, not only would be difficult to have a job and a family but you also have to take care of yourself! I want to do one of this too to hang on my wall.
If you don't want to keep the drills/ diamonds in the bags you can get containers that store them and collect tic tac boxes like I do for the bigger batches. Because I get multiple kits to do diamond art I get a lot of the pens, trays, ect so I got myself a tool box from hobby craft to store it in.
A couple things that help if you continue with this hobby, a fat pen that you can easily spin in your hand to switch between the single placer and the multiplacer. You can get nicer metal placers online. A larger tray makes less work. And release papers help because you can remove large pieces of plastic and replace them with individual single release sections
this is a great vid! i've never done diamond painting before but i have a good tip: when you remove the plastic, use a retractable utility knife to cut off a square so you can complete them in squared sections, it looks easier from what I've seen
you might wanna give it a clear coat to protect it, the beads starts to loosen up after a wail and he coat specifically made for diamond painting will prevent the beads from falling, looks amazing!
that might be true on cheaper lower quality kits but on a good quality kit there's no need. diamond art club actually warns against sealing your finished kit (iirc it actually voids the warranty if you do). if you're not displaying it i recommend either putting it in a portfolio or rolling it up (ALWAYS diamonds facing outwards so they don't squish in on each other and pop off) and putting it back in the box!! i've never had a problem with DAC drills falling off a finished canvas when stored properly ^^
This was my very first square diamond painting. My very first DAC as well. It’s framed over my bed. I love it like no other painting in my collection. It took me 3 weeks.
I’ve found that square drills look much more consistent when they are finished but their placement takes a bit more effort than the round. Your rows look spot on!
I have been Diamond Painting for 3 years and DAC quickly became my favorite place to purchase my kits for so many reasons. My motto is the bigger the better because I feel like I am getting a bigger bang for my buck. It can take me 7 months or so to complete a large kit and I love that because these are not cheap kits. One way that I make sure I am getting plenty of movement is to diamond paint on laundry days. My crafty space is upstairs and my laundry room is downstairs. The wash / dry cycle spaced just right to force breaks when diamond painting. I am much more comfortable when playing when I take the proper wiggle breaks.
Bravo! I'm so glad you connected with Dr Mike and got some good advice only for yourself but for the rest of us. I'm glad you were able to keep this in an enjoyable place for yourself. Challenges can be fun but never at one's detriment. Enjoy your finished work. Blessings
Hurray! It was great to see Dr. Mike and hear his tips. Also as a fellow chronic migraine sufferer, who also uses a screen for her work a lot, I totally related to that part.
When I diamond paint, I always listen to something, whether it be music or an audio book! It always helps me focus also it looks so good ❤❤ Edit: My favourite thing to use when I diamond paint is a large tray and multiplacers (multitools)
I’m doing one now that is 144000 drills, my biggest so far and and I am so glad I’m almost done. I’m always listening to an audiobook, and it’s so nice being able to read during the painting. Only 6 sections left (I always make 10x10 cm sections to break it up). Using another dill pen can help immensely in pain in hands. I personally never use the pens that come with it, as it hurts my hands to much. And switching back and forth placing drills with tweezers instead of the pen helps loads. And bigger drills trays save a lot if time if you planning on doing more Diamond paintings 😊
While I have yet to try Diamond painting, I understand the pain you went through. I completed a cross stitch with a little over 49,000 stitches in just on 6 months. It’s tiring, but they end result is worth the pain! Beautiful work, Sarah! You should be so proud of it.
I have a canvas about that size sitting in my attic. I got it and got so intimidated that I kinda stopped diamond painting all together and it's been about a year. I'm not gonna immediately start on the big one, but I got out a custom one where I have a solid background to finish and a preprinted kitten and cat one for my mom. Thanks for reminding me how enjoyable the process is. I let myself stress about results so I really needed that.
I broke my own overwhelmer into 25×25 squares and just focus on one of those squares at a time. The rest of the canvas doesn't exist; I don't worry about it.
@@mspooner great idea! I tend to lean on things so I use wax paper to cover spots I'm not immediately working on, and you're right, it does help it feel more manageable in chunks!
I love doing these. I'm currently in the middle of a 50cmx 150cm one but I've had to collapse my desk while I'm moving office. These do hurt my back from 8 hours of leaning over them though so I resorted to a desktop easel to put it at an angle so I can sit more upright. For my new office I want an architect desk so it can really help my back.
Yes, easel is great to reduce back strain. I have been doing diamond painting for over 6 years now and initially encountered same back problem. The architects desk is not something that I would consider, but a desktop adjustable artists easel was a game changer for me.
I think you'd really like embroidery and wool-painting (flat needle felting) if you're looking for other ways to explore using color to create art in unexpected "coloring" ways. I absolutely love this unexpected Dr. Mike collab. I don't think artists of all sorts take the time to think about and understand the importance of hydration, protein intake, physical and visual breaks, and supporting the body parts they are and aren't currently using. I must say, this is epic and I've never seen someone hyperfocus a diamond painting like that. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. It is a repetitive motion task which can trigger the same release of happy brain chemicals as a runner's high, though, I don't think they've done studies on DP specifically. I know they've researched knitting found simple, repetitive patterns release serotonin and dopamine, while reduce cortisol levels. I imagine coloring has similar benefits. Oh, and activities like coloring, knitting, etc are considered to be productive meditation because of their repetitive motions. They're ideal for those with who have ADHD or who struggle with the concept of "not being productive" but who could really benefit the most from meditation. And I'm sorry you also suffer from migraines. I do as well. It can be a rough road, especially when you struggle to isolate triggers or triggers are out of your control. Did you know shifts in the barometric pressure can cause migraines? Or that overstimulation (any excessive sensory input) can cause them? I was mind blown when I found out after years of trying to find a food or environmental allergen as the source. It's oddly relieving to know the source, even if you can't do anything about it.
Thanks for the migraine tips! I haven’t really looked into these as triggers, but stress definitely falls into my category of triggers, so you might be on to something!
Beautiful. I love Diamond art tbh and what I do is section the piece and fill the tiny sections just going through each colour and then starting again. It worked easier for me at least
I've done a few of their kits they are great the biggest ones I've done are about 97,000 diamonds and the longest I've spent on one was 142 hours. Longest time in one day was 16 hours. My partner bought me this little rack that holds 36 trays (they were included ) you can put out a lot of colours and the diamond art club kits come with handy guide stickers that you can label the trays with no more muddled crystals.
I LOVED this video. Not only was it educational (I just ordered an arm rest from Amazon) but your oops moments I actually related to. You are so much much to watch. Great video!
After a project like that you need like a moth of vacation 🥴😂😂 it's so satisfying to watch, but I could never 😂 thank you for sharing the pleasure of seeing it come together with us 🙌
What a huge project...and you did it with square diamonds!! Some people are terrified of square diamonds, but you didn't hold back! Your lines were beautiful. I love Diamond Art Club and have one of their paintings framed on my wall...and others completed that need frames. Great video!
I love diamond painting and have completed 18 kits so far; many of them are quite large. If you decide to keep diamond painting an easel may help and using putty in a multiplacer instead of wax will help tremendously. In my opinion Diamond Art Club has some of the best kits and selection out there. You did a fantastic job on your first kit!
i’ve been doing that and it while watching a video and it’s really helpful when the doctor said to like take a minute to like dilate your eyes and like help out what your body needs
It’s dumbfounding how your videos are now about struggling doing projects in the most self-imposed difficult fashion. I don’t understand what is the purpose of it, it used to be so positive and more about having fun and being creative at our speed, experience level and budget and teaching us all sort of tips for art in the process.
I like that she shows, that everything an artist does isn't easy or quick or perfect. It shows she's human. It's refreshing that she's not saying lalala this is so easy, I never struggled. Too many crafter RUclipsrs do so many cuts that it looks like they never mess up and never struggled and it comes out ...tada! Perfect. Giving the pros and cons (in whatever form) I think gives people a better measurement of if they want to try the project. I don't know, just my opinion.
It’s not dumbfounding it’s something called a challenge, she wanted to challenge herself to the extreme and not start at the beginning even if she only tried diamond painting once in her life. This was not meant to send any offence
Listen I have one of these and the fact that she got that much done within 5 days I would have only had time for like one section it has taken me like three months to finish and it’s still not done
Its happened to me too before where I’ve spent an hour placing a color of diamonds only to find out later it’s the wrong shade 🥲 my best advice to fix this is to sort them out. I went to the dollar tree and they have little vials or containers in the craft section that I used to sort mine. Then I cut out the numbers on the plastic packages and taped them to the containers. It’s fairly easy and helps you in the long run when it comes to not mixing up colors. Bonus tip (they’re reusable and inexpensive!)
This was amazing! What helps me with keeping the plastic back is a magnet tool. I’m not sure what it’s called, it came with my first painting from DAC. It has two magnets, one goes underneath the painting, one on top of the folded back plastic. Mine Aldi has a cute flower on top. I hadn’t thought of using wrist rest❤
There CALLED COVER MINDERS I made some using some spare shopping trolley tokens and some magnets I brought in the range UK store I'd seen a video of someone making them on RUclips and I seem to have amassed a collection of the trolley tokens some I've found in trolleys left outside the supermarkets and I thought I'd stick them in a jar in my sewing room and they might come in handy one day now they have😊
Congrats on completing your picture. I type all day at work so find it hard to do any painting of drawing at night. Padding on the desk may be a great option for me as well. This was an unexpected but great part of the video💕💕. Thank you for including this.
I love these kits. I have ADHD, so doing these helps slow my hyperspeed thoughts down to something resembling coherence. The biggest one I've done was just shy of four feet long and two high, of two peacocks with a proverb in Chinese. Took me three months. I've also done two custom kits and have gifted several of my completed ones. My backlog of waiting kits is nuts XD
please make more content I just got into diamond art and went straight to your channel cos I knew you'd have something about it and now I've watched this video like a million times
That is a ton of work and looks amazing! The largest DP I have ever worked on was maybe a third of that size, and I was going through a rough time and never finished it. I'm disabled so I have more time on my hands, and when I do some projects, I'll work almost all day on them.
Hey Sara I have a nice tip. Instead of pealing it and holding the plastic with your arm I suggest you use a marker or something and make sections and use a blaze to cut it section by section it’s just easier overall.
I love diamond painting and this project came out beautiful. Are the drills round or square? I can't tell on my tiny screen. One thing I found tremendously helpful is a light board under the canvas. It makes all of the colors and symbols stand out while working. Looking forward to seeing what else you create ❤
Epic and ambitious! Btw, for anyone into diamond art: of course Diamond Art Club will have high-quality ones, but if you just want cheap kits, Temu has a bunch.
Amazing work, Sarah! One tip for not mixing up colors in trays: draw the symbols on paper, cut them out, and tape or just drop them into the corresponding trays.
I love to do this but I now have leg issues that keeps me from sitting more than 10 min. Pain is too much. I can no longer do this. I stand at a small chest of drawers to color. This was an impressive undertaking. Well done lady.
Some quick advice with these: Diamond paintings typically come with a specific number of one color so you wouldn't be able to swap 2 similar colors out if one has more on the actual painting than the other.
I know this video was ages ago, but if you do another one you can get these sheets that you can put on it so it stays sticky, but also so you can cut out section instead of keep pealing the plastic back. Hope this is helpful :)
I love diamond painting, and diamond art club! It takes me a long time to finish one though! I've also done the wrong colour on more than one occasion!
I love diamond painting but I lost the motivation for finishing the one I'm doing. But due to limited storage for the diamonds I can't start the one I really want lol. This video has made me want to pick it up again. I really like the one you did, my biggest so far was 60cm by 60cms.
Wow. I loved this video. I finished a size like that about 5 months ago. I think I have carpel tunnel now lol. The Drs suggestions are great. Will take his advice since I’m now starting a new huge one. So fun to watch. Thanks for doing the challenge 🌺
You can put a big sheet of baking paper or something similar on top of your diamond painting after you peel the plastic off but before you start, because if you rule lines onto the baking paper then you can cut off the sections where the lines are with a knife so the rest is still sticky but you have a section to work. This is what I do to help me.
I’m a paper quilling artist, also a very time intensive art form. But with on edge quilling like I do, there’s so many different ways I’m manipulating the paper strips, so I’m sure that helps prevent a lot of that hand strain. One piece I did a few years ago had a lot of rolled coils, and oh man that was painful lol.

What is RSI? I crochet 10+ hours a day, 7 days a week for my business, and now I'm worried 😅
@@TheDearestOfThingsRSI is short for Repetitive Strain Injury.
Her pulling the entire plastic cover off immediately was SOOOOOO triggering to me! Ahhhh! 😆
Sorry! 😂

i’m also disabled and am unable to work! twins 😄🫶
I started freaking out when she peeled all the plastic off- 😂
As a diamond painting veteran, I suggest taking your time with your next ones (if you plan to do more).
They need to make a little Diamond Art spatula that can scrape up the accidents without damaging the glue.
Thank you!
I’m glad it was helpful!
I WASN'T EXPECTING DOCTOR MIKE! Omg that's actually such a good plot twist. RUclipsrs help youtubers, after all!
Nobody talks about how your neck hurts so bad😭😭😭
I know like me neck all was hurt after diamond painting
Ya same
We need more diamond painting videos like this!! This is one of my favorite videos and I keep watching it over and over and over again
I recently got into diamond art. Loving it. One trick I find works for me is doing one section at a time. I peel the backing off only so many columns at a time...say 5..and it works for me and I don't get overwhelmed. Beautiful piece! Love your enthusiasm
I love Sarah’s motivation, i haven’t even seen this video and I know it’s amazing
Not going to lie her tearing off that whole protective film made me audibly gasp. That painting is far to big to do in a day.. omg 😢
Same lol
😂😂 😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂s😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I had a blast watching this and LEARNED something I didn't know about breaking up stuck diamonds! Just the other day I was asking how long it took people to finish these... thinking I was going too slow.... but watching you has inspired me knowing it just takes time! You're the best
And remember, I was working on this for more than 12 hours a day!
@@SarahRenaeClark I can only imagine how mentally and physically exhausting that was lol
@@ColorfullyOptimistic I'm doing one that's like a 1000 diamonds and I'm working on it like 1 hours A-day
Stuck diamonds are more common with square shaped ones.
I imagine quite a few people would have panicked, sorry 😂
@@SarahRenaeClark I did because I kind of got back into diamond painting and I have to Peel off like a little tiny sections of it soalmost gave me a heart attack Never do it again OK
I love diamond painting! The best thing I can recommend is to buy a resin diamond painting pen. They are the same width as an Ohuhu marker and I find they put way less stress on my hand and wrist!
Also getting a light pad to put under the canvas will help cut back on eye strain!
Congratulations on finishing it, I can't wait to see your next huge project.
If you cut a pool noodle in half, and put the half over the end of the table helps with your arms on the tables
The light pad is a great idea!
I cant believe you had the patience and motivation to finish this humoungous project ! Huge respect🎉
Interesting perspective! 🤯
Most I do are this size or bigger and have them all completed alone. Most people I know do them without help 🙂. It does take me around 3 months though
my current DP is 100cm x 165cm (3ft x 5.5ft) with 264,000 drills.....most people I know complete typical DAC's like the one in this video in 1-3 months solo..there's a whole community of us on youtube...
That is beautiful, I have tried diamond painting but I can honestly say it is not for me but I love seeing what other people create from these kits
Because I get multiple kits to do diamond art I get a lot of the pens, trays, ect so I got myself a tool box from hobby craft to store it in.
great idea!
A couple things that help if you continue with this hobby, a fat pen that you can easily spin in your hand to switch between the single placer and the multiplacer. You can get nicer metal placers online. A larger tray makes less work. And release papers help because you can remove large pieces of plastic and replace them with individual single release sections
Light pad!
this is a great vid!
i've never done diamond painting before but i have a good tip:
when you remove the plastic, use a retractable utility knife to cut off a square so you can complete them in squared sections, it looks easier from what I've seen
you might wanna give it a clear coat to protect it, the beads starts to loosen up after a wail and he coat specifically made for diamond painting will prevent the beads from falling, looks amazing!
Clear coat of what? What would you recommend?
that might be true on cheaper lower quality kits but on a good quality kit there's no need. diamond art club actually warns against sealing your finished kit (iirc it actually voids the warranty if you do). if you're not displaying it i recommend either putting it in a portfolio or rolling it up (ALWAYS diamonds facing outwards so they don't squish in on each other and pop off) and putting it back in the box!! i've never had a problem with DAC drills falling off a finished canvas when stored properly ^^
I definitely lost some time pushing them after placing them because I wanted them to be STRAIGHT!
I did this diamond painting, I worked on it for almost 2 years 😅It’s fine I only do it casually as a relaxing activity
Bravo! I'm so glad you connected with Dr Mike and got some good advice only for yourself but for the rest of us. I'm glad you were able to keep this in an enjoyable place for yourself. Challenges can be fun but never at one's detriment. Enjoy your finished work. Blessings
I love ur videos Sarah and u never fail to make me smile
Hurray! It was great to see Dr. Mike and hear his tips. Also as a fellow chronic migraine sufferer, who also uses a screen for her work a lot, I totally related to that part.
When I diamond paint, I always listen to something, whether it be music or an audio book! It always helps me focus also it looks so good ❤❤
Edit: My favourite thing to use when I diamond paint is a large tray and multiplacers (multitools)
The finished result looks amazing! Makes me feel bad about the R2D2/C3PO one I have mostly finished that I haven’t touched for the last three years 😂
Hahaha
We got the same problem for the same canvas 😂😂😂. I got rid of it last summer.
I'm in the same vote for 1 of mine lol
While I have yet to try Diamond painting, I understand the pain you went through. I completed a cross stitch with a little over 49,000 stitches in just on 6 months.
It’s tiring, but they end result is worth the pain!
Beautiful work, Sarah! You should be so proud of it.
Amazing! My mum used to do huge cross-stitches like that and I always admired her patience. I only ever finished a small one. ❤️
Thank you for having the doctor on.what a big help to all of us.
Sarah, I love 💕 your videos and am very exited whenever you post a new one. So I’d like to ask for you to please 🙏 keep making more!
Beautiful.
I love Diamond art tbh and what I do is section the piece and fill the tiny sections just going through each colour and then starting again. It worked easier for me at least
Such a great art work👍👍👍👍
I've done a few of their kits they are great the biggest ones I've done are about 97,000 diamonds and the longest I've spent on one was 142 hours. Longest time in one day was 16 hours. My partner bought me this little rack that holds 36 trays (they were included ) you can put out a lot of colours and the diamond art club kits come with handy guide stickers that you can label the trays with no more muddled crystals.
It would be cool to see you design your own piece and turn it into a diamond painting to compleet!
This must've taken so much time and effort, but the result was beautiful. You are talented and work so hard for us to enjoy...you deserve a lot. ❤
I love your videos Sarah, but I would love it too, if you would take more time for your projects 😅❤
BEAUTIFUL, NEVER SAW THIS BEFORE IT IS NEW TO ME, I THINK IT IS EXCITING TO DO, IT IS LIKE DOING A TAPESTRY ONE HOLE AFTER ANOTHER. GREAT WORK DEAR,
I love your videos pls post more often
i’ve been doing that and it while watching a video and it’s really helpful when the doctor said to like take a minute to like dilate your eyes and like help out what your body needs
This was not meant to send any offence
i agree there is no reason to bring yourself this much stress and strain especially for a diamond painting
@Cindi Adkins is not for the diamond painting per see, I think.
It's for the videos and the channel.
That would be worth it to her.
@@BeppyCat I honestly don’t think it’s for the videos and the channel , it’s just worth the experience and fun🤗
Listen I have one of these and the fact that she got that much done within 5 days I would have only had time for like one section it has taken me like three months to finish and it’s still not done
Wow! Such beautiful results - what an endeavor. Good tips too. Thank you!
These were square 😊
Epic and ambitious!
Btw, for anyone into diamond art: of course Diamond Art Club will have high-quality ones, but if you just want cheap kits, Temu has a bunch.
Amazing work, Sarah! One tip for not mixing up colors in trays: draw the symbols on paper, cut them out, and tape or just drop them into the corresponding trays.
I love to do this but I now have leg issues that keeps me from sitting more than 10 min. Pain is too much. I can no longer do this. I stand at a small chest of drawers to color. This was an impressive undertaking. Well done lady.
I have made 2 diamond painting projects and I really enjoy it. The hard part is finding the time to dedicate to it.
Some quick advice with these: Diamond paintings typically come with a specific number of one color so you wouldn't be able to swap 2 similar colors out if one has more on the actual painting than the other.
There's always so many extra diamonds, I wouldn't be too worried about it
Dr Mike is such a sweetheart
