    • @michaelbristol6467
      @michaelbristol6467 3 года назад

      He paints with higher pressure because it lays out a lot flatter. Low pressure causes a lot of orange peel. They say to spray them guns at 35psi but Chad cranks it up to I'd guess 60psi. The gun is a princess auto gun $39.99. Harbor Freight same thing. 😉

    • @michaelbristol6467
      @michaelbristol6467 3 года назад

      With the higher pressure you just need experience and keep that gun moving fast or else your paint will run on the floor if you don't know what you're doing.

    • @michaelbristol6467
      @michaelbristol6467 3 года назад

      I use the old style siphon gun at high pressure, lays out like glass, uses a lil more material tho but comes out beautiful. 80 - 90 psi 😎

    Really nice job Chad, what a beautiful outcome, personally if you want to knock Chad for showing people how to do restoration projects and how to repair various issues that often present themselves along the way when modifying or restoring a car including painting one then maybe this is not the channel for you.
    Unless your comments are constructive and we all can learn from your posts. I find Chad’s sincerity/ honesty and transparency really refreshing, I personally have had friends ripped off by so called restoration specialists and classic car painters, at least Chad is totally upfront with everyone on his channel, Chad I hope you keep going with the segments and your channel, A big thanks to jolene for all the time you are putting into the editing and production of these incredibly informative as well as entertaining videos. A more expensive tool or paint gun can make it easer true but, it's the skill of the painter who makes it all work. Preparation s the key to any job. and the reward is the finished job

    I've been doing this for 50 years. I've always used a straight line sander. I have done work next to guys who used that gear driven DA and couldn't do body work worth a shit. Every so often a guy would come to work for me with the gear driven DA . I would say "Jesus Christ here we go again". But when you learn the secret behind that DA you can do great. This guy with this DA did great body work and could do it faster than I could.
    This is the way I teach how to mask. If the tape is on the paint or you can see the chrome IT'S WRONG!!!!!!. I never want to hear is"that's close enough". If the tape is on the paint or you can see the glass IT'S WRONG!#!!
    I came back to say I think the paint job looks great but I would have to nib that dirt out.

And u have CRAZY a lot of dust particles , escpecially on the laying surfaces. You say it does not need buffing?

    The real test is, waiting days until all the chemicals evaporate from the paint.If there still ain’t scratches, you did an excellent job. The car does look beautiful!

    In your booth, the car looks chrome on the side profile. Can't wait to see it outside.

    Beautiful mirror finish paint job and 2 tone with pinstripe looks awesome.The color scheme reminds me so much of Dale Earnhardt's #3 Goodwrench race car. A job well done Chad.You have every right to be proud of it.😁👍
