USA to Philippines On United’s 15-hour Direct Flight
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 24 апр 2024
- Over the past 19 months, we’ve flown between the US and the Philippines 10 times times. And our most common route takes us on a whirlwind jaunt from denver to Los Angeles to Honolulu to Guam to Manila. Or the exact reverse.
Sometimes, like our most recent trip back from Manila, that complexity can result in missed connections, which is why our recent episode featured an impromptu, 24-hour tour of Guam.
But today, we’re taking a quick flight from Denver to San Francisco, where we’ll experience for the first time united airlines’ new direct flight into Manila. And because it’s a 15-hour long haul, we’ve pulled every string available through our United loyalty status in the hope for an upgrade to the private pods and lie-flat seats in their Polaris business class cabin.

Fun fact: Uber did operate in the Philippines but Grab acquired their Philippines operations in 2018.
Nice. Thanks for the fun fact 👍🏻
@@livethephilippines not just in the Philippines. Grab acquired Uber's regional business in the whole of Southeast Asia in exchange for Grab shares.
yes i remember that, i had lots of free uber rides because i was sharing my code with friends for free rides. I travelled manila for free for about a year lol.
Also, some cars are not owned by the drivers. They are employees of a company that has a fleet of cars.
Just go with Grab!
Hi Erin and Phil. I just want you to know that I'm new to your channel and I cannot stop watching all your videos! Your family is amazing and both of you including Colt are so articulate. thank you for representing the Ph to the rest of the world. We appreciate you and I hope you continue doing what you do and inspire other folks to travel more and explore Ph more. Love y'all!
Wow! Thank you so much for this generous comment. We appreciate it! 🤗
Thank you for introducing the Philippines to the world! You have an amazing family
Oops One more thing to all viewers of this awesome channel. For those who don't know this incredible fact of The Phillipino People that they are probably one of the most festive peoples in the whole wide world. Some years back I had befriended a Phillipino family here in the US and let me tell you." No lie " They had something going on virtually every weekend from celebrating somebodies birthday, weddings, wedding anniversary, holidays ect ect, the larger the extended family the more get togethers. They love to laugh, they love to eat, they love to play Majon, they love music and to sing and to dress nice and go to Church. In my humble opinion only. If you know a Phillipino family no matter where in the world you are there is such thing as boredom if they invite you into their lives. According to me " They live life to the fullest ". God Bless all The Phillipino's This is what I see in this channel Love & Friendhip....
This is so so true!
Thank you 🙏! That's why anywhere in this World 🌎🌍, being Filipinos is Our Greatest Pride in different ways. Everyone, Everybody or Anybody can judge it from their experiences belonging, embracing & living with Filipinos & Philippines itself, Mabuhay/Bravo! Thanks 🙏 God & God bless 🙏😇! :-)
Don't get me wrong there are many nice and loving nationalities around the world but there is something very unique about the The Phillipino People. God has given them a special gift of love, laughter and life they know how to celebrate if they have One dollar or a million and and they have the gift of laughter no matter how sad the situation in your life they can make you smile. I wish Erin and Paul and Family one of the best memories of their lifetime for their Channel. Is is sorta sad that The Philippines is so far away from the US as I think many Americans would be able to afford to visit like Hawaii....
Who gives a shit. They are idiots.
Great video!! Love how you kept me engaged. Excellent edit!!
Thank you! So happy you like it 🤗
Awesome travel vlog!
I can see my parents doing a travel vlog if the technology had been available in the 1970s. Then we flew every summer to visit family and friends in Yugoslavia.
My father was always grumpy, stressed, and angry. My mother towed me and two sisters along always concerned our bags hadn't gotten lost between Tallahassee Florida and Belgrade. Then she would rail against Yugoslav Airlines and how much she disliked them.
My sisters and I would splurge on peanuts and Cokes in the Clipper Club at JFK before going over the pond.
It's great to see you showing your kids other places and cultures while they're young. That exposure to travel and foreign places has a lasting impact trust me. I'm now 56 and can say all the family travel during the 70s and 80s made a positive impact on how I view the world and my place in it.
You are such a goodlooking and physically fit couple!😊 Can you make a video sharing your healthy lifestyle or fitness routine? Loving all your vlogs! ❤
+1
It's always fun to watch experienced vloggers who live in the Philippines, bring family members or friends to experience the Philippines for the first time. I can't wait to see how Reagan and her boyfriend react to the Philippine experience. Who knows, you guys might have to find a 4 bedroom place soon!!!
Never know how this might affect Reagan's college plans, but we totally expect her (and her boyfriend) to LOVE their first experience here!
This is amazing! Have a great time in the Philippines! ☺️❤️
Happy for ur upgrade,blessed 🙏🏽
Thank you. We were grateful for it.
What I also love about your trips is that you really take time to tell in details what you are up to and what the process you undergo during your trips... I really appreciate it very much, for someone like me who is not used to travel. 🥰🥰🥰

Hey Erin and Paul: Greetings from the US West Coast. I've become a fan of your's with your previous travel channel- traveling in Europe especially the trains. It seems like The Philippines is alot safer to travel than years before. Your Narration, Commentaries, storyline, photography, friendliness and travel tips makes me want to try The Philippines as a vacation destination. Keep up the great work looking for to more videos.

Hi Erin and Phil and kids,
Love watching your videos.
Just a recap that my daughter with her husband and family lives in Denver.
And I watch this video you mention you grow up here in Bay area that we're now living 20 min away from SF too.
WOW!!!
I was in the Philippines January-February this year.
Maybe couple of months i'll visit
my grand daughters in Denver.
Enjoy the Philippines especially with Mom Duty!
Thanks! Say hello to the Bay Area for me 🤗
Yay, you guys arrived safely!! Looking forward to seeing more of BGC, as we’ll be there soon! Already have your speakeasy and restaurant spots 😊 We stayed at Capital O Residences (fantastic rooftop pool & views, btw) last time but didn’t do much except to step across the street to SM Aura because it was too hot all day, every day 😂
Thanks! Hopefully your next visit won’t be as hot. 🥵
Hope to see you in Bacolod! October is the MassKara Festival hope you can come but if you want to experience it, I suggest you book your hotels no later than June. A lot of people are coming over.
Looks like a beautiful festival! And Guide To The Philippines offers experiences in their portfolio, so we can discuss with them. Thank you for the tip 🤗
We are just as happy that Reagan is finally coming next month and sure hope she loves her vacay here as much as you guys do!!!
P.S. enjoy the heat Erin!!! Us Pinoys hide in this heatwave and come out by 4pm ish 😅😅😅
Haha, it's been pretty hot the last two days so I'm doing the same :) But still happy and love it here.
Cannot wait to fly this someday! SFO to Manila 🇵🇭 on United Airlines 🇺🇸
It was a great video what an experience! Cheers 🥂 😅
Thank you for watching! A pretty good flight experience for being so long!
Awesome VLOG!

Us too! We’re looking forward to it.
Great family, have fun on traveling love your videos
Thank you! Will do! 🤗
I love watching you travel blogs
That makes us happy to hear 🤗
I am originally from the Philippines in about Rizal area, found myself going back in fort to the Philippines since 2015 thru these year.
Taking my husband this time, as I go home every year now.
Since the passing of our eldest in 2009, anyways: I am proud to know that your FAMILY LOVE THE PHILIPPINES, your son Colt is too ARTICULATE in this whole trip. In fact: he is ver accommodation & engaging, and be part about this whole TRIP.
Greetings from Webster New England Massachusetts
Thanks for watching from Massachusetts 🫶 we love when Colt wants to participate in our episodes, you never know what he’s gonna say 😊
the most hardworking Philippines content creators on youtube, I'm in youtube since 2006 and never seen a channel with so much dedication, honesty and hard work all put into creating quality videos, hats off , you guys are amazing
Hi Erin, I live 10 minutes away from SFO. That’s cool to learn you grew up in the Bay Area. Quite honestly, I’m happy to see you guys in San Francisco (SFO) even though it’s brief but slight embarrassed with all the unlawful acts happening in my town. Safe travels to PI!
Thanks 😊 I love transiting through SFO. Makes me think of my family that still lives there 🫶
I watched a youtube video of united airlines ribbon cutting ceremony for their First flight from san francisco to manila. The event was at a different level. I visited a friend in denver colorado spring of last year. We are toward the tourist destinations in and around denver including the rockies. It was a lot of fun.
So cool! Wish we were at that event for the first flight.
Four tops are usually taken by single fliers in airline lounges because it's very rare for a family of four traveling together to use a lounge. Just think about that sometimes :)
Yeah thats where i turned this video off.
Welcome back to the Philippines. Well, I will be going there in June so I hope I get to see you guys and the Ocampo.
We hope to bump into you around town 😊
OMG you're going to Iloilo. I hope you have a good time to your stomach's content with all the delicious foods and of course, Guimaras mangoes!!! Im excited to watch the video! I'm from Iloilo. ❤❤❤
We're excited for the food and all the mangoes too :)
Oh yeah.... 1:56, it is so hot right now here in the Philippines, its on another level, litteraly.. its summer time ☀️🔥🔥🔥
We've been here for a few days, walking around town even, but we know we haven't really gotten a feel for the heat yet. Too much shade and aircon in BGC :)
Always watching ❤
Always grateful! 🤗
I work for UNITED CLUB in DEN. Been wanting to meet you guys in person. I am also from the Philippines. Good luck to your family
We hope you bump into you someday!
As someone who spent a good chunk of last year flying from the US to SE Asia, I like the Polaris seat, the crews are okay, but the food, yeah, they really need to work on that. I tried SQ, great food and crew, but the seat just doesn't work for me, so I ended up on JAL. The one thing I will give United props for is the entertainment factor at check in, for some reason especially in Tahiti, watching 1K's have total melt downs at check in because their system upgrades didn't clear really is amusing to me for some sick reason 🙂
Hi! Heard in this video your coming to Iloilo and witness the Manggahan Festival (Mango Festival). The festival is celebrated in Guimaras, an island province just 15-20 mins from Iloilo by ferry. I’m from Guimaras and hope I can witness your coming over to our place and enjoy the festivities. I suddenly subscribed to your channel 😊. Thanks for promoting our place. Please shout out. 😅 tnx.
That’s a great way to fly to the Philippines!
Have fun in your globe-trotting adventures safely!
Thanks! 😊
Thumbs up ❤😁 nice information 🥰
Thank you! 🤗
it's not boring watching your vlogs
Happy to hear that! 😊
Wow you will go to Iloilo , my hometown 😍. Yes Guimaras mango is the sweetest mango. . Best of luck on your travels 🎉
We are excited! 😊
New subscriber here, enjoy yiur travels😊
Welcome to our channel 🤗
Hi Phil,
What’s that camera mount on your backpack? Brand maybe or affiliate link?
Keep up with the content.
Oh, that’s my little modification using the peak design clip: global.peakdesign.com/products/capture/
Got it. Sometime Small details can be a big help.
Adventure @ its finest 😊
Good to see guys back in the Philippines. I heard it's been very hot in the Philippines lately. Keep hydrated guys. I can't wait to see you guys in Iloilo for the mango festival. There are also so many good food in Iloilo to try. Try the mango pizza too! Philippines has the best mango in the world.
Thanks 😊 it’s hot here but I don’t think it’s extreme. And I love the heat! - Erin
Love Polaris, probably the best business class offering of any US based carrier.
We are so grateful for every Polaris seat we can get 👍🏻
Glad you guys are going to Iloilo my Hometown! 🏡❤️🤩 Hopefully you’ll enjoy there and can’t wait for that episode! I think when you mentioned Mangoes , that’s Guimaras Island also neighbor of Iloilo in Panay Islands.
Anyway, glad you’re all back safely! 🙏
Love from Vienna, Austria.
We can’t wait. We’ll be going to Guimaras too 😋
I also love DIA especially more than a decade ago when I used to almost annually traverse between Colorado and Manila which Is why I can relate so much to you guys (plus I miss Denver as I haven't been back there for many years.) Sad to hear DIA is a bit chaotic for quite sometime now, just don't get it why it's taking too long for them to renovate. Anyway, welcome back to Manila and enjoy the 'fiery' weather! Whooo! Matter of fact I'm a bit sweating now even inside an airconditioned room LOL!
Thanks! We hope the construction can move along and be done soon.
Guys you should to visit Okada Manila, it’s a 5 star resort and casino which happens to have the world’s largest dancing fountain.
We should. I bet we will sometime b
Welcome back
Great to be back!
Still the best Erin and Phil... Erin is always looking stunning 💓
YOu're too sweet. Thank you!
thanks for the preview, I will be flying from San Francisco to Manila via United for the first time too. I was wondering if they have a taxi service in terminal 3. Thanks for the info, enjoy the Philippines 😅
Yes. After you exit customs go out the doors and cross the street. There will be many taxi's lined up. Ask for a metered taxi for the best rate.
United Air is in last place when it comes to Singapore air, Ana, Japan, Cathay, Thai air, and others. Love your channel !!
Thanks! 🤗 we love flying other airlines too. United is the best in our opinion for US based options. Plus, Denver is their main hub.
Good to see you all back in the pacific again. maybe it's time you check out BORA-BORA or add on your bucket list.
Bora bora would be amazing. Can't wait until we have the opportunity to go there :)
Safe travels! The Philippines experience starts at SFO with all the Filipinos 😂
We live in the Bay Area and pretty cool Erin mentioned she grew up here.
Thanks! Say hello to my old stomping ground 🤗
Welcome home!❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
I’m excited to see Raegan in your vlogs. Hoping to see her here in BGC, too.
We are looking forward to showing her 🇵🇭

Also have the AMEX Platinum card, and I love it. Luckily I’m active duty so the annual fee is waived but even after I get out and have to pay that fee, I think I may keep it for the benefits as well. Cheers and happy travels yall 🤙🏼
