When you noticed how Asgore held up better than Toriel when put in the same position. Asgore preserved the ruins, creating a functioning society for everyone living in them, and he's obviously a big part of the city and has obviously had a part in keeping the peace among everyone, going as far as making it safe for Humans while Toriel stayed by her lonesome, preferring to isolate herself and any humans she may find.
Yeah, that's what I like of this AU! Toriel preferred to be alone, even being scary to the monsters in the Ruins and making them flee with a serious stare. Meanwhile, as you said, Asgore made a little society(we can even assume that, unlike the Ruins, City of Old is a recurrent place and monsters know of it), and he even talks to the monsters and kindly tells them not to fight, as Bugerpants said, "Asgore is like a fluffy old dad to everyone here" or something like that.

toriel has single handedly closed the door to the historical home of the monsters and has trapped monsters for generation ,separating families and replicating what the human did to them but worse, and all of that in a reign of terror

@@enigma6890 its negative bc that's just negative in general, doing that to the monsters is negative which is why it is on the negative side, negatively.
Is nobody going to talk about how Chara wanted to stay with Asgore, but when they were about to say that, they said something about leaving instead. You can see them being confused with dialogue options like "I did not say that!", "What's happening?", which, as soon as selected, also switch to something about leaving. And only the last line, "Help me", remained the same, except after everything "they" had already said, it had a different meaning

Correction: The personalities stay _mostly_ the same.
Well sans is active as crossbones but as soon as he stops superheroing he is just his eegular lazy self
Papyrus in Ut is a pretty active character, so it’s quite hard to make someone like sans fit into his shoes with his personality, as he is expected to do something at the very least

This is probably my favorite take on underswap. While character roles are swapped like in the original version. But They keep their original personalities from the OG game and that causing huge changes like Asgore treating the monsters in the ruins differently from Toriel and even setting up a City in the old Ruins.

well, that /is/ what TS!Underswap is!
Three years late but I agree so much! The original Underswap was one of the first of its kind, so naturally its simpler than many other AU's, but in that simplicity I always thought it was kinda...boring, for last of another term. Storyshift, imo, was way better with how got more creative with role changes while keeping the characters true to themselves.
TS!Underswap keeps US's original role swaps, but takes that page from Storyshift by keeping everyone's original personality's, and it's so much better off for it. Asgore making Ruined Home a habitable place for those who stayed behind with him, allowing Chara to actually stretch their wings and try while being there to catch them if they mess up a puzzle, Mettacrit just being this ghost holed up in Ruined Home with dreams of stardom, it's such a great reimagining. Even something as simple as converting all the narration from third to first person to keep Chara as the narrator goes a long way to helping TS!Underswap feel like a fresh, and dare I even say, the definitive take on Underswap.

Instead of Frisk acting and Chara describing things wrong, in this world Frisk tries to choose things and Chara acts wrong.
It's a very different shift of power.

When I first played this I really thought I’d be like: oh GOD it’s you! But then I was like man I was hoping to mad! 🤣
@@Saiavinn Seeing as how Tem is Monster Kid, and Asriel is alive, the only person it could be is Frisk. Unlike in Undertale, Chara and Frisk aren’t bonded, and Tem obviously knows the flower’s real identity, using his name in quotations “Flowey”.
I feel really bad for Chara during the changing choices part. If they hated humanity here as much as they did in Undertale, it make sense that they'd rather stay with the monsters.
Most likely Frisk as the game mover wants to progress the story.
@@lukethekuya Why Frisk? They don't have control over Chara, just like UT Chara doesn't have control over UT Frisk (Unless somewhat MAYBE technically during a geno run, which was not done by Merg yet it still happened anyway).
Why do people keep assuming it's Frisk when it is clearly the Player?
@ManicFiction frisk is the manifestation of the player that's why they're such a blank slate in og undertale, they're a representation of us wanting to move the story and see what happens (which is why they are pure hearted pacifists one second and merciless maniacs in another). I think TS! did a great job of actually giving frisk a "swapped" role that makes sense for what they represent (because on a very surface level them and Chara are basically the same)
Honestly the idea of multiple temmies being in the role of “Flowey” is pretty neat, as there’s always been more than one temmie
However, one temmie wasn't a temmie to begin with.

This is a version of Underswap I can get behind. No one's personalities really change, but their roles swap in a way that makes canon sense. Everything about it is so interesting and I can't wait for the next area to be completed!

There's still a lot of content in this game. All the Username easter eggs for example. You can still fo genocide,hard mode and "spep mode". Name yourself "hard" to enable hard mode (I think, I don't think anything changed but yeah????) and name yourself "spep" for spep mode

Oh boy, I liked the ending so much, the teaser for the full game was nice, and the "cliffhanger reaction" of Sans and Papyrus was amazing.
If I remember correctly, the Temmies in the ending tell you how many times you die.

This demo of a game is a masterpiece i’m excited for when The full game comes out and is giving me all of the feels right now

Good job Merg! I would say I'm surprised you did it without deaths, but we all know that would a be a lie. xD If you're feeling up to doing more of the demo, you should definitely go back and find more Easter eggs, as well as do all the quests! And of course, you've got to try out a geno route. I won't spoil anything, but it is _amazing._

Huh, I actually wrote my own fan dialogue for Papyrus when he has the talk with you like Sans does at dinner. Instead of having the line "You'd be dead where you stand" I changed it to "Nobody would hear you scream."
I know it's not a completely unique line, but seeing how it applied to Underswap as well... I find that funny.
