How to Recover and Restore the Asus A53Z Laptop to Factory State

  • This quick demo video shows how to restore the Asus A53Z laptop to its original factory OS state, as in the same way you got it out of the box. The process also works for many other Asus laptops. You just hold down the F9 key during bootup to enter the recovery utility (every Asus laptop has a recovery partition on it where this utility is located) and then step through from there to properly recover.

    Just format the drive and bootup from disc then, that's a brute force way to solve it. You should be able to hit one of the F keys (F11 or F12 maybe?) at startup to get into the BIOS and delete partitions or choose which drive partition to boot from as well.

    ai recovery is when you open it and put a disk in to your computer and it saves all the stuff you have on your laptop, but in this video it tells you how to put it back to factory settings meaning it goes back to the way it was when you got it

    @LaptopReviewsDotCom  12 лет назад

    Yes, you can do it as many times as you need to.

    This should work with other manufacturer as well. I'm searching for an easy way to safe the recovery partitions I get with every laptop external (not only asus). And I don't want to pay 15€ for a 16GB stick. Will it work to safe the partition on an external drive (1. copy the way you show; 2. take image of of it). Then I can delete the partition on the laptop. When I want to recover, I copy the partition back to the laptop and boot with a windows boot medium.
    Maybe an more easy way is to remove the HDD before first bootup and take a full backup of the HDD. The only downside would be, that it is double the size.

  • @Landotter1

    This is all fine and good but if this is run and you have made a partition for your data.... if the machine goes back to factory, do you lose your partition because it wasn't there at factory setting...

    My laptop would get stuck on boot up ,it wasn’t frozen it just would stay on the animation of boot up.I then did this reinstallation but same issue it would eventually get stuck but not frozen.So I get no errors but just this forever loading up animation.I left it for more than 24hours just to be sure but still no change.I have this exact laptop by the way.What would my options be?

    • @LaptopReviewsDotCom
      @LaptopReviewsDotCom  6 лет назад

      It sounds like your hard drive is malfunctioning and the computer is not able to read from the hard drive properly. My recommendation would be to go into the BIOS and make sure the computer can see the hard drive correctly (see instructions here www.asus.com/ca-en/support/FAQ/1008829/) and if not then you'll need to get a new hard drive, the challenge will be cloning the current drive you have to another drive since I assume you have a lot of programs and information on there you need.

    • @LaptopReviewsDotCom

      Ismat Beg No, no CD required so long as you do not remove the recovery partition that's on the hard drive. These days manufacturers make you create a recovery "USB stick" since many laptops do not have CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives.
