I appreciate how you present the victims in a dignified manner, even when they have less than savory pasts. You make your audience remember these victims were people who didn't deserve their fate.
It is so nice to hear a story without all the annoying background over dramatic music and distracting voice over. This was an excellently researched piece. Fabulous work.
Can I know who you're throwing shade at?
@@lunarotimas Take your pick....there are many sites guilty of such.
@@patagualianmostly7437 I'm sure. But no one I watch. So I'm just curious, since it's so far outside my circle.
I can't take my pick if I don't know them
I so agree mostly there is no need for background music etc while someone is talking also when ads come on the sound goes much higher why?
@@lunarotimas😊
These stories don't beat around the bush, but tell it like it is. He is a fantastic story teller, whose style cannot be duplicated. I also appreciate his show of dignity and forbearance. Carry on and keep these interesting and informative stories coming. Much appreciated from North Carolina, USA!😊
Sir, my goodness. Your voice is a masterpiece. Then, to add to that, the stories that you tell are spellbinding. I’m an insomniac and I’m always looking….. well, I’ve found your channel. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
This gentleman speaks with clarity, enlivened by an accent. He also is a skillful narrator. And an excellent capacity for selecting intriguing stories. So enjoyable. At least as skilled as the paid readers on Audible.
Oh wow I would love if he where to get hired to read all my books to me!❤
I find it very dumbfounding you had to highlight his "accent" ... While your praise sounds nice it also sounds a bit a bit not nice as you can choose to have an accent or not at birth to what country you were brought up in @Spyderredtoo
I'm from Megan and have never even heard of this case! Thank you for your channel, Singapore! I love your videos 💜
@@keip4568his accent is weird though. Irish people are known for telling stories

Not to devalue your content, but; this is just what i need to relax and keep my mind from distracting me while trying to fall asleep. I can just lay in bed, listen to your masterful perfect storytelling and you will lull me into slumber. I can't wait. Im subscribing. Thank you for finding me this eve.
There is nothing wrong in listening to anything just to relax. Honestly, I sometimes fall asleep listening to the best narrations. I later listen to them again to learn whatever they are about. Sometimes I listen to what I heard already just because I find the narration lulling. After all, we wouldn't listen to these wonderful narrators if they told us utter nonsense or something we don't like. And there is a re-watching value to such all-around great videos.
@@catherine_404I listen over and over again. These stories have become part of the wallpaper of my life. Thanks Paul and Co. ❤
I especially appreciate that you use proper English in your narrations. I cringe every time l hear others using double negatives, improper tense etc. This comes from instructions from my paternal grandmother who was a teacher of English most of her life!❤
Going to sleep to the tune of your voice. I'll watch over again in the morning to make sure I didn't miss anything! Love your outfit!
I feel like you **probably** didn't know this, but I have a short (lil over an hour) road trip to make this afternoon...right in the thick of what we're being told is "an elevated risk of strong thunderstorms, hail possible, & a serious concern that tornados &/or damaging straight-line winds could form along the front" so...😕...what could be better whilst facing that hot garbage mess than a soothing British voice, telling me stories.👍🏼😁
PS: If you **did** know, good on you keeping it a surprise!! 😂😘
I wish you a safe and pleasant journey! (And hopefully no tornadoes 😱 )
And regarding whether I knew or not....that would be telling 😇😆
I was just looking at the forecast for today. Stay safe in your travels!
TYouguysSM, I shall endeavor to not end up in Oz lol👍🏼😁
Sounds a bit like Texas! But "Hi" & enjoy. Just discovered this fellow & thoroughly enjoy him.
Be well.
The bath sponge creeping up may be my favorite part of this whole video.
You never know what they're thinking....hmmmmmm🙄
OMG -- yes! Thank you for reminding me! I nearly died! I just happened to catch that part of the video, as I often only listen to Paul while working at home, + it definitely made my day! Ahahaha LOVE IT!!
Comment #2 This is about the first story.
I don’t usually get emotional about the historical/old cases…but this one made me cry. An entire family; women & children included, taken from this world just because the father owed that man a few pence. 😢
For once I was ecstatic to hear that the murderer was swiftly given the death sentence.
Thank you for the compilation, I greatly enjoy all of your videos. 😊🙏🏻
I love your longer videos. It makes doing chores and errands so much more enjoyable without the need to pause every 10-20 minutes to make sure the next video is you. Keep up the wonderful work! 💜💜💜
Great stories, Paul. What a wonderful storyteller you are. Please keep it up!
I admit that I'm really bad at 'liking' videos, even ones I love. I just don't think about it as I'm usually listening while doing other things through the day. But I stopped what I was doing to go grab my charging phone to 'like' this one. I absolutely love everything about this. Voice, storytelling, intonation, intriguing cases I've not heard of. Fantastic.
Thank you for all your work to bring these cases to us in an intelligent and calm way. Much appreciated.
What a great storyteller! My Great Grandfather, also a Scotsman - from Peebles, had this same skill. Thank you so much x
Forgot. Narrator is great! He is so very skilled at presenting these stories. I plan to look for more of them.
A most pleasurable way to spend 1 hour 44 mins. A long podcast with variety. I just sat back and listened to your mellifluent delivery. Do please plan on doing more long, multiple stories as I know I am getting quality and not waste time looking for a decent rhetorician and often being disappointed.
the narrater and the stories made me feel nice and warm and relaxed on this cold late fall night. thanks.
Yes, British true crime is my favourite. I remember back in the day when I used to watch crimewatch UK. Some of the UK cases on there were so eerie, especially with the reconstructions. Anyway so many underrated cases in the UK, so it's good to see a huge video covering them thanks
British true crime programmes and British crime series are the very best!
I used to love watching crime watch years ago with jill dando. It’s so sad that she ended up being a muder case on her own program.
@@jessrosefawkes2721
What!?! Did you say one of the narrators was herself, a murderer? If so, that's a trip.😢
@@sweetcaroline2060 No Jill Dando was a presenter on Crimewatch back in the late 90's. She was then mysteriously murdered and ended up on a crimewatch episode herself. It's still unsolved but people think it was cause she was tryna uncover Saville at the time. Then again I always thought it could've been cause of one of the cases she covered on crimewatch
@Jess Rose Fawkes yes pretty chilling right. Another thing that was chilling was one of the reconstructions of a murder case, the man was the actual murderer and was pretending to act alongside the actress that was playing the woman he killed
love listening to your voice, with true crime thank you for the job you do.
A little Scottish, minus the rolling Rs. Good old English and an occasional Africaan twang.
I agree! Many times I listen to his stories without reading what the story is about.
❤I know especially when he loses it the odd time a wonderful laugh too.

Absolute joy seeing this! You are an awesome storyteller, l listen to a lot of true crime and it’s like a breath of fresh air when l listen to you. Thank you so much for the work you do! And taking us to the actual locations brings home how these are real people, with real lives, which is something that’s often lost on other channels. Thank you!
Outstanding! This upload was such a gift. Thank you so much Paul (and all the others there who I am sure are very nice). 😊

Oh Paul! I absolutely love these crime stories you’ve put together! I just love hearing you speak with your accent! Thank you for sharing your stories with us! Blessings to you and your family! ❤️✝️
This long format is perfect for working, thanks!
The outdoor segments, flawless fashion and narration that's to die for make this channel my absolute favourite among all that the true crime topic offers on youtube. Very glad this compilation got uploaded because now i can have a longplay for all those times when someone goes "we should watch something" :)
Thank you!
This was wonderful! My job in the evenings is cleaning animal cages and I am always happy to find these longer videos. Very well presented and entertaining! Thanks! 😊
Absolutely fascinating content Sir, and your annunciation is flawless!!
Many thanks and regards from Tyne and Wear...👍
Love these videos! Thank you! Particularly during the first case, I kept thinking, "Oh Agatha!! I see what you did there!" It is wonderful to realize that a legendary murder mystery writer was a crime hound, just like we are today!
You are now my favorite true crime show to watch while settling myself for sleep thank you 😊
I remember my mum always got upset whenever Derek Bentleys case got mentioned. On the day he was hung my mum almost punched some woman's light out for saying, he deserved his punishment. His execution was a miscarriage of justice and I consider it to have been state murder.
Hanged not hung.

@borleyboo5613 I, personally, learned a new thing today, ty! Not all Americans prefer ignorance 🙄. My husband added, that it's 'hanged' in the case of death by noose- knowledge is power!
Over an hour, what a treat!
For whatever reason, I only just came across this channel earlier today. I liked the video presentation so much that I actually let the ads roll all the way through, (which is very much Unlike me). I want to check out your other content. This one was a gem, Thank you!
The extremely soothing voice. The jaunty hats and vests. The historical murders. Here for it. Yes!
I live in Hay.. great to hear you tell this tale about Herbert
Love working with you in the background. Always relaxing and educational!
What a treat! Totally absorbed in these historic crimes. Your presentation is wonderful and I could listen to your voice all day every day. Very informative
Judgement by the flamboyance of the Daily Fail remains equally notorious to this day
Loved the little gag half way through the 2nd one! 😂❤️
This is great. I love true crime from the 1800s so thank you so much 😊
Mills, being a professional boxer, could easily have punched these poor girls unconcious.. (the missing front teeth); but then again, so could others. Maybe. The specs of paint apperently led nowhere yet they seemed almost like a calling card from the killer.. Love your channel mr. Brodie! You're one of my favorite storytellers.
I found you vids by accident and so pleased I did , you tell these stories so so well . I now listen to you when I get in bed as your readings are explained so well . Thank you so much .
OMG I absolutely LOVE your videos and your accent ! I always look forward to your new videos ! No one has ever been able to hold my attention like you can Mr. Brodie ! Thank you ! 🤙💕
I love this stream. I could listen to this voice 24/7 and the storytelling is amazing.
I watch a ton of true crime shows and I cringe every time I hear about people with less than stellar parents. As a mother and grandmother, I can't fathom rejecting my children for any reason and I've done my fair share of trips out at 3am to collect other people's kids from various dangerous locations because their parents threw them out at 12-16 years old. What kind of careless moron does that?! And we wonder how these people grow up to do such terrible things. Well, some people wonder. I, however, do not.
My mom has schizophrenia and was very symptomatic whilst me and my three siblings were young. Thankfully we come from a huge family and had our grandparents to take care of us. Today, my mom is doing so much better and is able to be a wonderful grandmother herself.
Anyways, when we were teenagers, one thing I’m always proud of my mom for, is that she knew my elder sister had a few friends that came from broken homes, so she always had a pot of soup or something delicious for them to eat and let them crash at our house whenever they needed, as she knew they were good kids, they just needed to be loved.
Because of my mom and others I believe in community and that we should help each other out whenever and however we are able, and that doing so makes the world a better place.
Also, I have a 12 year old daughter and from some of these videos I’ve watched, I’ve already discussed with my husband that when she’s older I want her to inform her friends that they can call us at any hour of the day or night and we will give them a ride home instead of them walking or catching a ride with someone they don’t know. I’d much rather be woken up in the middle of the night to deliver them home safely than read in the paper that something awful happened.
I am the same….rather was the same. My son is 30 years old now, so I don’t have wayward teens hanging around anymore. 😊
But when he was young his friends knew they were always welcome at our home and always welcome to eat or drink anything in the fridge or pantry. Our next door neighbor showed up at the door the day after we first moved into our new house and asked me if I had any kids his age that he could play with. 😂
Lucky for him, I DID! They became great friends and he was at my house all the time. His mother would lock him out of the house every morning and wouldn’t allow him back in until she got home for the night. 😢 He was well know by the local police because his mother tried to have him arrested for “stealing food” from his own home…at 12 years old!! She had two other children that she treated completely opposite from him. He had an older sister and younger brother who were treated like royalty by their mother. So, he ended up traveling with us quite a bit as well as being at our house all of the time. It gave my son someone to play games with and keep company with when we went on vacation, so I worked out well for everyone. 😊
After my son was grown and out on his own I took in my 16 year old goddaughter. She was going to run away from home, so I told her parents that I would take her in that way they would know that she was ok and being taken care of properly. I homeschooled her while she lived with me. Finally, she decided to return to her mom’s house so she could graduate with her classmates. She had been with them all from Kindergarten through grade 10. After graduation, she went to college…first in that family to do so. At the time I had two vehicles, so I gave her free reign on my Tracker the entire time she was in college. She’s now 24 years old and just became a mommy. So, I’m kinda a new grandma. ❤😃
I believe that I’m like this because my mother was the same with me, my friends and the friends of my siblings. Everyone knew that they always had a safe place they could go to if their parents kicked them out. They also knew that they would be fed if they were hungry and nursed back to health if they were sick. My mother was always welcoming and kind with all of our friends as well as family members. I was lucky to have parents that taught me compassion and kindness, so I guess I just pay that forward. ✌🏻💕😊

I enjoy your videos how factual and intelligently they are presented. Thank you.
I do love compilations, they give me something nice and long to listen to at work. Fantastic job!
You’re supposed to be doing your work, the reason you’r employer pays you. Not entertaining yourself. Either watch Paul Brady’s wonderful channel at home, or give your employer his money back. I find this casual admission appalling.
@@colnuttall9035 It is possible to entertain myself and do my work at the same time.
On reflection, I may not have considered all possibilities here. I guess if your work is as a night watchman or some situation that means simply being there, then you’re right, it’s possible to do your work and watch some RUclips video. My apologies for ‘jumping the gun’ as it were. I’m sure you are an admirable worker and a good person. My reason for the views I held, stem from my long experience as a Construction Manager. In the mornings, it became the usual practice for many people to check their personal emails, followed by Facebook, Twitter and whatever else they subscribed to. This would often take them up to morning tea, at which time they would extend that, and every meeting we had, into a personal social occasion. As you can imagine, their hourly rates were considerable and when viewed over a longer period, amounted to huge costs. Because of my need to hold many meetings per day, I became fanatical about adhering strictly to the agenda. Chatter was quickly seized on and the offenders told to take their meeting offline, because we are in a different meeting. So again, my apologies if I offended anyone.
Cheers.
@@colnuttall9035 No offense taken. Have a good one :)

I was particularly interested in the Gibson case because I still have some memorabilia from my parents' voyage to South Africa on the Durban Castle in 1953. The photo shown at 35:20 is dated over a decade after her death. It was taken by a member of the crew from the Durban Castle bound for South Africa on 19th July 1958 between Ascension Island and St Helena in the south Atlantic. The other vessel is the Dunnottar Castle on her final homeward bound voyage prior to being sold and subsequently converted into a cruise liner.

If you think about it. James may have actually thought she was dead when really she had fainted given what her actress friend said about her propensity to fainting away . If that is true, James murdered her by throwing her into a shark infested sea to drown or be eaten by the sharks. Given that he was convicted of attacking teenagers later in life, its a pity he did not get the death penalty carried out.
I always look forward to your latest offering, thank you! I am thinking the boxer may have been the murderer in the fifth story. He could have been at the Profumo parties being both a celebrity of sorts and involved with the underworld, and he died when the murders ended.
And he's probably really punchy, so all the missing teeth make sense...
Herbert is featured in an episode of a series called Murder, Mystery and my family, where the family try to have the verdict over turned, the judge said he believed the evidence etc unsafe
