I grew up hearing the stories of Henry Starr and other outlaws who hid out in Osage county. There are lots of stories of Henry staying the night at different farms and leaving gold coins for the family. Henry is buried in our local cemetery in Dewey OK.
I read a book as a teenager about old west outlaws and Henry Starr was one of the subjects. I had never heard of him before which was kinda strange because that man lived a pretty wild life.

My husband's great grandfather watched Harry Powers hang. I was talking to his 98 yr old grandmother about that story, and she told me how her father in law was able to be there to see him hang. She still lives near where that happened.
