I have literally tried everything and I still get microstutter, it's driving me insane. All these tips have helped reduce it but I still have stutter in every game I play. Like small hitches that last less than a second.
With these specs, you’re CPU limited. You might want to look into disabling inspectre and meltdown at the expense of security, these CPUs took a major hit in performance 3 years ago and I def noticed a difference when I had an i5-6400. Of course making these changes are done at your own risk.
I have the same thing, it only happens on certain games and I noticed that it happens more if the game is in windowed mode. My FPS counter stays at 60 at all times, so this stuttering doesn't actually affect the framerate it seems. My setup is i9-9900KF, RTX 3090 and 64GB. I have a suspicion this is related to windows updates or Nvidia drivers (or both) but I can't say for sure...

Cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. I have been trying to troubleshoot this for a while and initially thought it was just an outdated overused GPU. Noticed the FPS drops mainly on Rocket League but other games as well and it was extremely frustrating. Seems to be running much better now, thanks once again:)

Guys just a quick suggestion for you if you struggling with Micro Stuttering. (try this one first then continue with vids it worked for me) so i had micro stuttering for a month and i did everything i could , watched and done a lot of youtube vids(how to fix it) but it never solved my problem but the only thing that solved it was that my PC was not connected with Main Modem but it was connected to Wifi , basically PC was connected to WIFI , WIFI was connected to Main Modem and that made me have micro stutterings while i was playing games , after that i bought new Main Modem(that has 2 lan slots 1 for WIFI and 1 for PC) that would let me connect my PC direct to Main Modem and now its fixed and i never suffered from this problem anymore :)

Have you had any issues with the latest windows 10 update? I've been getting stuttering mainly in fullscreen videos e.g youtube on chome and any video played in MPC.
I’ve had a weird issue once where the NVIDIA driver was at 240hz but looking at the mouse movement, it behaved as 60hz. To fix, I had to change the refresh rate in the NVIDIA control panel to 60hz, apply. Then set it to the max refresh rate of my monitor such as 240hz. The stuttering was fixed after.
I guess so. This month's windows updates caused a lot of microstuttering in my games, which I have not experienced before. My DOTA 2 and Genshin Impact have been microstuttering like crazy. I'm not sure anymore if it's software related problem or hardware related problem.
Thanks, I applied all these settings but issue persists. My issue is an odd one, mouse stutter, audio stutter, missed key presses etc. it doesn't start for a day or so then gets worse over time. After 2-3 days I have to reboot. Then it is fine again for a few days until it starts, then gets progressively worse. Trying to determine if it is hardware or software. Researched online and cannot find an answer. It is a small Dell Optiplex I updated to i7 and 16GB ram, thinking cpu to powerful for MB?
If I hibernate and then resume a few seconds later issue also disappears! I am leaning hardware at this point...I have my old I5 so I could stick that back in to test.
My "graphics settings" in windows is completely different, and I don't have anything about hardware acceleration. Even if I did, I am supposed to have that off since I'm on a Ryzen 2400g SMT
hey JC. Yes, you can. To revert in command prompt or powershell as admin, enter the commands below and reboot. bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformtick bcdedit /deletevalue disabledynamictick

I wish for a day when Windows is "plug and play". As these issues started when i upgraded to Win10, i would have downgraded to Win7 if i could - but of course my new AMD GPU doesnt have Win7 drivers, so here i am, shocked that microsoft has such major bugs years after its launch of Win10..! Will this be the final push over the edge so i switch to Linux??? Could be...!
Would you want a Windows 10 Gaming version that's free of micro stutters?
Yep that would be great..there is no need to worry about tweaking that much when there is low latency and free of microstutters....
yes man that would be great
Yes it would be my dream to have a version of windows with minimal latency and lag free.

Halo dave, so how to know which one is good core ? I have core i9
Have you had any issues with the latest windows 10 update?
Thank you so much! My computer is faster now!
My "graphics settings" in windows is completely different, and I don't have anything about hardware acceleration. Even if I did, I am supposed to have that off since I'm on a Ryzen 2400g SMT
Quick CPU fixed it, thanks!!

Heya there Dave!
Great video!
Just in case though, how to revert the changes made in command prompt with hpet and dynamictick?
hey JC. Yes, you can. To revert in command prompt or powershell as admin, enter the commands below and reboot.
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformtick
bcdedit /deletevalue disabledynamictick
@@Davefinito Thanks a bunch!
Didnt change much for me.. But nonetheless, great vid ;3
Davefinito is there any way to define a larger buffer size for audio drivers in windows registry? because most of my stuttering is via audio
Asio drivers can set a larger buffer size, tho i think that maybe doing that wouldn't fix your problem
Another awesome guide Dave, thanks a lot!
please help me i have this problem but I literally cant do anything to fix it, if you could add my discord or anything to help me fix this issue
same
I haven't notice any problems playing games, but browsing the desktop or internet browser is where I see lag. Would this still fix those issues?
Yes, there can be an improvement to general system responsiveness.

Which one worked for you?¿¿¿
I wish for a day when Windows is "plug and play".
