- "Heal the World" is a song recorded by American recording artist Michael Jackson from his eighth studio album, Dangerous (1991). It was released on November 23, 1992 as the fifth single from the album. It was written and composed by Jackson, and produced by Jackson and Bruce Swedien. It is a song steeped with antiwar lyrics and Jackson's wish for humanity of making the world a better place.
In a 2001 Internet chat with fans, Jackson said that "Heal the World" is the song he was most proud to have created. He also created the Heal the World Foundation, a charitable organization which was designed to improve the lives of children. The organization was also meant to teach children how to help others. This concept of 'betterment for all' would become a centerpiece for the Dangerous World Tour. In the documentary Living with Michael Jackson, Jackson said he created the song in his "Giving Tree" at Neverland Ranch.
An ensemble performance of "We Are the World" and "Heal the World" closed Jackson's memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009. The song was performed as rehearsed by Jackson at the venue just weeks earlier, in preparation for his planned "This Is It" concerts in London along with "Dirty Diana". R&B singer Ciara sang the song as a tribute to Jackson at the 2009 BET Awards.
The song was played at the funeral of James Bulger and Jackson also donated the song to be used as the anthem for the James Bulger Red Balloon Centre, a school for children to go to if they are being bullied or have learning difficulties.

The message this song is sending is that we need to consider others lives, which are in great danger or people in poverty around the world. It shows how powerful one gesture of kindness really is and how someone can change the world and make it an enjoyable and loving place for everyone across the world. This song is a true definition of selflessness. It motivates us to care for those in need and also do our best to make the society safe for us and those after us. sexual exploitation and abuse, war, hatred for one another/racism etc. are things that are destroying the world today and if we care enough for those around us, we will change and make positive impacts in our lives and for generations to come. This song is a beautiful song that talks about unity, peace, and equality. It says that we should treat each other equally and stop the discrimination. We should have and do unity to have a better place, a better world. We should stop all the wars, the killings, bombings everything that makes the world wounded. Let us spread love and not hate. Love each other. This song is all about the power of love that has a great impact in healing people’s pain, anger and sorrows. When one shows love and care towards another peace and harmony will reign in ones heart that would create a better place to live in. it is we who have destroyed our existence place but a chance for mending it through minding the nearest possible life near you through a peaceful and loving atmosphere which is only hidden deep down our hearts. The “Heal The World Foundation” was founded by Michael Jackson in 1992 as a charitable organisation which would aid children and the environment. Its goals included providing medicine for children and fighting world hunger, drug and alcohol abuse, and child abuse. The accompanying music video for the song was directed by Joe Pytka and features children living in countries suffering from unrest, especially Burundi. Did you guys see the news about the charts/ sales in US for 2022. MJ has sold the most at over 1million units, coming first in sales and beating today's artists like Beyonce, Lil Nas, Chris Brown, Travis Scott, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles.. list goes on

Have we ever had an artist ( especially a black man ) that dedicated his life to actually helping people like Michael Jackson? It's interesting that a song like Heal The World would be on an album called Dangerous almost like wanting to ACTUALLY help people that are sick and dying especially children, would make you a person that would be seen as dangerous and you would be targeted by certain people in society.
This song and video is a perfect example to show someone one of the reasons why I love Michael so much! Absolutely incredible, yet heartbreaking! He will always be my idol, and there will never be anyone like him! ❤️🙏🏾

I cried when he sang Heal the world in The History tour in Lyon France, I was in the first row. It was very immotiotal (Sorry for my bad engling) he was pushing a guy in a wellchair and it was so nice. Michael was happy to make he happy
Ugh, if someone would ask me about a song that describes MJ's personality - it’s Heal The World. I refused to listen to Heal the world for a decade actually because it used to make me cry lol just like it got Blenda right from the start! 🥲 Now it’s one of my faves! 😂 Bless You two! I've cried with you watching this the first time and I did it again. "Loving Neverland" a 5 hour documentary that you can find on youtube is something you should definitely watch too see more of what Michael has done for children and people in gerenal, and to see how he was portrayed by the evil media. It's sad but beautiful at the same time seeing what kind of a person he was.He was just an angel on earth. I know I have said this before, but trust me guys, you will love it (and you will also cry every 5 minutes watching it, but it's worth it).

This is one of the first songs I've heard from Michael and till this day it remains one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It shows the innocence and purity of Michael. I loved watching this with you and not going to lie, I cried watching it, both during the song and the reaction to the Detail video.
And his live performances of this are also very beautiful. Can't wait till you guys start doing reactions to his Dangerous World Tour performances. Especially from Bucharest, Romania (the country I am from), which impacted us greatly during that time (first big concert after communism fell 3 years prior and we get Michael Jackson in a concert that seemed from another planet for us, and till this day was not replicated, and never will be).

Hi Honey & Brown. Wow I love this reaction video. My dear Brown - sorry you are not feeling well and I hope you're better and back to your energetic self soon. Heal The World is another beautiful message from Michael. The realism is shown in the video - I cried watching too Honey. Michael's voice here was so angelic and so soothing. Anyone would feel what he is saying is coming straight from his heart. MJ believed and said it many times the innocence of a child's heart are the seeds of creation that will heal the world ❤❤❤🌍🌎🌏🙏🙏🙏 He cared and loved all the world's children - calling them his children - their pain was his pain. I get sad missing MJ more hearing this song each time. His live Dangerous Tour performances of this song were so wonderful and he would share the stage with children as they all sang the last part of the song and even shared the stage with sick and handicapped children. MJ's visits to hospitals were never announced or reported in the news - Michael would visit and write down what he saw and where there was need. He brought toys and gifts but also gave donations of money and medical equipment, beds - whatever he saw they needed. He was not only passing through - he spent time with the children to share his heart and give his love -- I remember there was the controversy of the picture of Michael in an oxygen chamber - he had donated it to the hospital. Michael was an empath. He was always wanting to give and share- when he was a young child artist buying candy with his pay and sharing with kids in his neighborhood. I look forward to seeing your reaction of the Superbowl performance. And OMG - love that you will present your Ghosts reaction 👏👏👏 Can't wait for it. Another great reaction to a beautiful iconic Michael Jackson song. The school system in my area used this song to make a video of how our transportation department used their resources to help the community during the pandemic by delivering food to those in need, and it was wonderful to see. It's so sad that MJ's humanitarian work was not made as public as it should have been, although, he's said he didn't do it for the publicity. Such a humble man, and he passed that quality on to his children. Looking forward to the next reaction. Yes, "Heal the World" is a very impactful song as many have agreed here. On another note (no pun intended), "WE ARE THE WORLD" is by far his most impactful song. It raised over $70 mil to help w/ the famine poverty in Africa. Released March 17, 1985. Written by MJ & Lionel Richie. Its monumental in so many ways. not only for what it was written for at that time. I will never forget when it was released, how it was released and the impact on humanity as a whole. It resonates to this day! Would love to see your reaction...just have a box of tissues ready! ❤️

Michael Jackson's humanitarian legacy is overlooked and this bothers me so much. He made it to the Guinness world record for supporting the most charity by a music star, donating over 300 million throughout his lifetime. Also, 20% of his earnings after his passing are supposed to go to charities, I do not how that is going since, his estate is not that great with managing his legacy. MJ knew his global reach and knew how to use It to make a change.
