I've had the stradic fl for a few years now. And it's still holding up well. Still one of my favorite reel. I use it for striper fishing at dams here in Oklahoma.
That looks like a good next reel for me to try! I have both a Stradic ci4+ and a Vanford but I think this might just be a better fit for my salt endeavors once I get my boat finished & into the Sound. I might even try that Star rod too.
Different models, fm has more issues even tho it’s newer. I just bought a fl in 3000 and it’s a xg for 200 on amazon instead of going for the newer fm because I’ve only heard bad things about

@@FishingGrubbZ what's the lure you have on the setup?
Oh dude I use so much with this set up. From striped bass to tautog
@@FishingGrubbZ haha I meant, what is the pink lure you have on your setup in this video.
Great review Todd. I’ve got the 5000 model and absolutely love it. It bombs it out there and handles big fish perfect. Keep catching m’ up, fish on!
Should i get the c3000 or just a regular 3000?
Great video please I want to know what diameter of braid used for jigs at sea

@@FishingGrubbZ looks like the rod may actually be discontinued…would you go for the newer version Plasma II in a Medium 8-17 lb or the MH 10-20 lb?
Mine is 10-17 so either would be totally fine.
@@FishingGrubbZ awesome, thanks! I think I’ll buy this combo as a gift to myself when (if??!) I finally finish my boat restoration!
I love the videos. Big fan. Would love to see rod reviews and what you personally look for in a rod.
I use it for fishing in and around the freshwater great lakes. Great all around reel imo
Right on
That's a huge fish for 3000 reel, is that a 15 lb line?
20
is the shimano stradic 4000fl a good fit for a st croix avid inshore MH?
Hell yeah
How’s this Stradic holding up after a few years of use?
Still crushes fish. Replaced the handle with a gomexus
am convinced to buy one after watching your video.
I love it
You sure it 20lbs ?
Does your box say xg instead of fl?
Sup Todd. Real nice reel for saltwater, even off of land. Ty tc
Is the star rod good for fluke fishing?
Good isn’t the word I would use. I’ve killed so many darn fluke with that thing
My fav reel it’s amazing
What kind of rod would you recommend to use with that reel?
Depends on the target species. This reel is super versatile
@@FishingGrubbZ bass
Largemouth or striped bass?
@@FishingGrubbZ largemouth
Could use it for so many things. Jerkbaits, senkos, ned rigs, each application you would use a different rod/line.
What size rod did you pair the 3k with
I have it on my custom tog jig rod now.
ruclips.net/video/6Pnbff-UwJs/видео.html
But ill probably put it back on my seven foot star rod.
Just bought a mint condition used one from American legacy fishing for 140$
Sick
Still using mine all the time
What rod is that
The old star rod plasma
Anyone know whats the diff beetween fm and fl ?

I have the 4000 and 5000. The 5000 is super smooth, 4000 is average.
Why is that?
Dunno. Might be an issue with your 4000
