Yep. I had a giant red on that I fought for about 20 mins. Though I tired him out and over tightened the drag. Got him about 15 feet from the bank and he took off and snap. He was probably 42-46 inches. Shit still haunts me haha.
"let it soak for snook" = best advice ever given to me. Snook like to attack from behind, whereas reds will attack from any direction. Hook those finger mullets below/behind the pelvic fin and you'll get more snook. Give it a try!
What a Great day of fishing you had man🖒those redfish were beautiful , Go back and get that Monster Snook!!! Looks like the new Stradic is gonna serve you well
I have a 4000 and has served me great for about 12 years with no more than general maintenance. I also have several Penn battle 2's that are a lot newer and the stradic is still a lot nicer in my opinion. Good luck
Love Shimano, that’s all I own I have the 8000 Stella, 4000 Sustain an the 5000 Stradic, great reels, I’ve fished with others but tend to pull towards Shimano, they say if it’s not broken don’t fix it, an I never had a Shimano fail on me, I’d like to see a video review on what you think about it after you put some use on it, by the way nice vid, an stay safe an keep fishing 🎣
Great content Justin..your vids are so much better than the other local around here and I know you know who I’m talking about (actually I think he’s from Jupiter). Anyways, good stuff bro
FYI -- the 2500 has a felt drag, the 3000 stradic has a carbon fiber drag. For saltwater the 3000 & 5000 are the reels of choice in the stradic series reel weight, & line capacity. But the Shimano reels IMO are better reels see Tackle Advisors side by side break downs of penn vs shimano
@@timlane4944 It ha been proven that a felt drag is smoother but the carbon drag will last longer and is better for fast fish. front drags are easily switched out if a person likes one or the other better
Always used Shimano reels until this year. I finally decided to break down and buy my first Penn. Not very happy with it. Going back to Shimano. Liking the one your using. Would like more info about it. Maybe get yours or someone else's opinion on the Shimano ( Stradic ).
Snook are smart! He knew there was a hook in it and was just playing around to see if it would come off the hook and he could get a free meal!! They ain't as dumb as ya might think....reds on the other hand just don't give a shit😎
Wow brotha! what an adrenaline fix with that spot! Man I love that Tarpon fight in the beginning...those fish are very hard to fight when they do multiple jumps...they're very smart fish and know how to protect themselves from getting hooked. Oh and amazing catch with that ruler length Red...I was worried it was going to pile you to the dock. Amazing job my man! And I'm surprised with that Shimano 2500!
Always slack off your drag when your done fishing, especially with the Stradic. You have the 2500. It has felt washers , allot of people go for the 3000 to get carbon drag washers but you don’t need it. Plus the handle on the 2500 is great. Enjoy the new reel bro. The rod 7’ or 7’6” ? Thank you.
what rod was this I got the reel for x-mas n i was wondering what rod u had from this vid really love it keep up the work I subbed and love the channel
You'll love it you will be hooked like a crach head lol should have got the 3000 through holds more line and weighs the same and is same size but has a paddle handle I have 3 of them👍🏻
I don’t get it
Get what?
Chicken butt
Dude we need more content like this in quarantine
Thanks for watching!
Love my Stradic FL 4000! But do yourself a favor and get a Gomexus handle/knob. You won't regret it.
Great video, Justin.
GARY SCHULLER I got one for my shimano Sedona 5000 and love it
What size handle will fit on the 4000? Just picked one up with a st croix triumph rod today
I love seeing your videos in areas that I know and love myself! You're the man Justin! Keep the awesome videos coming!
That fight with the first red gave me anxiety
Same
Me too with that dock in the background.
Yep. I had a giant red on that I fought for about 20 mins. Though I tired him out and over tightened the drag. Got him about 15 feet from the bank and he took off and snap. He was probably 42-46 inches. Shit still haunts me haha.

What a Great day of fishing you had man🖒those redfish were beautiful , Go back and get that Monster Snook!!!
Looks like the new Stradic is gonna serve you well
I have I 2500 static And I love it the only thing that you have to do is wash it off when using it in salt water.
How do you wash them off? Do you use any thing specific or just a hose?
Its mullet season boys! Sick content as usual JM!
I have a 4000 and has served me great for about 12 years with no more than general maintenance. I also have several Penn battle 2's that are a lot newer and the stradic is still a lot nicer in my opinion. Good luck
Great content, curious if you remember which lure are using? Thank you
Awesome video bro! The new stradic looks very sick!

Great Video! You have come a long way from the early videos on the Gheenoe page. Keep up the good work bro.
Are they better because of the carbon drags?
@@timlane4944 It ha been proven that a felt drag is smoother but the carbon drag will last longer and is better for fast fish. front drags are easily switched out if a person likes one or the other better
Love the drone angle
What rod is that?
Good stuff man!

What kind of rod are you using for the stradic
I hope the Stadic is still treating you well. I love mine smooth as silk...Fish on
Always used Shimano reels until this year. I finally decided to break down and buy my first Penn. Not very happy with it. Going back to Shimano. Liking the one your using. Would like more info about it. Maybe get yours or someone else's opinion

Snook are smart! He knew there was a hook in it and was just playing around to see if it would come off the hook and he could get a free meal!! They ain't as dumb as ya might think....reds on the other hand just don't give a shit😎
What rod is that
Love the stradic, use one for my salt combo.
Wow brotha! what an adrenaline fix with that spot! Is the Sound of the stratic normal?
What size and type of hook do you like to use for your live mullet setup? Thanks
amzn.to/3eiJcjh I use these in 6/0
Hey, what watercraft/boat are you using in this video? I was thinking of getting something like that for myself.
Gheenoe Highsider
Throw a twenty inch trout in there and you have a tournament winning slam
Where are you fishing and what kind of boat it’s that brother?
Always slack off your drag when your done fishing, especially with the Stradic. You have the 2500. It has felt washers , allot of people go for the 3000 to get carbon drag washers but you don’t need it. Plus the handle on the 2500 is great. Enjoy the new reel bro.
The rod 7’ or 7’6” ? Thank you.

Yeeeeees nice
Great vid
Why a gheenoe and not a skiff? What are the pros of a gheenoe? I haven’t been able to make up my mind.
I will be making an entire video about this soon. But main reason is cost, and simplicity.
Are you fishing the Indian River
