Hello Dan, I have the Seat equivalent of the Sharan, the Alhambra. It’s nearly 18 months old now - had it from new. Mine has a 2.0 litre turbo Diesel engine, 148bhp mated to a six speed dsg gearbox. It is the top of the range model with electric front seats, electric rear side doors. Electric tail gate and electric panoramic sunroof. Oh, it has tri zone climate control, too and full leather. It has sat nav but totally outclassed for its small size, traffics and functionality. However, for such a large ‘bus’ it drives very well I use only two seats. The rear is set two seat fully forward and one fully back thus giving great access and space for my old Labrador. The rear most seats are set as one up and one down so I have sufficient space for an electric wheelchair and hoist. It really is a great car. I average 49mpg which is pretty good considering my driving on mountainous roads, town driving and some but rare fast motorways. When this COVID-19 gets under control I plan to drive to southern Italy in it. When all the seats are down it’s like having a van and I can put so much into it. The things I hate about it are 1/ the stupid position of the adblue filler tap. 2/ small sat nav screen. 3/ no LED headlights. 4/ very poor customer service by both Seat UK and UK dealerships. I have no idea what I can replace it with in 18 months time. It’s a shame the VAG group are no longer going to make this car or replace it with a new model. The 7 seater SUV is smaller. Great review my friend. As always, greetings from Cumbria in the UK. Stay safe and well.
As an American this thing looks cute as a button! But Volkswagen shouldn’t bother bringing it here. Even the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and Chrysler Pacifica are experience dangerously low sales (which is really sad to me), let alone the Sharan. It’d be too small and boxy looking for Americans.
I have a 2013 one which strangely looks very similar and has power side doors and a huge sky window, has also blinds on the side door. It is really a shame that they terminated this line, I'd keep buying them forever. Will now have to move to another brand...
Why this video does not indicate the exact measusrements of the loading space? The Seat Alhambra has the following: LENGHT: 1990 MM / WIDTH: 1090 mm (between wheel houses) / HEIGHT: 825 mm. Note: indicated loading space in LITRES (!) isn't of any use to anyone, as nobody wants to fill up such a car with water!
We have a sharan. Lets see..... Leaking sunroof. Egr valve that breaks now and then. Bushings in the steering you have to change every year, if you dont want to listen to the clickety clonk. Anti spin wich works sometimes, but fancies to disconnect in winter. Steering is ok, but dont expect to have the steering wheel electronics and airbag working for a long time. The trunk hatch couplings are weak and will break. The annoying adblue. Did you know then when you fill, if you dont top it of, the car will stop and have to be towed? Genious! The backdoors are actually great, not when it's minus degrees ofc, because they will not close when its cold. The huge space in the back, comes with the worst loading protection bars system we've seen. I would recommend this vehicle to my worst enemies.
