    It should be noted that the dramatic performance increase in DCS with DFR is only possible due to QuadViews - one of the gifts to the community from Matthieu Bucchianeri. After investing huge ammout of his private life/time to VR improvements (with little or no support from VR businesses like Pimax) Matthieu recently decided to no longer devote so much of his time to the VR tools and technologies development. It's time now for the developers who are charging for their products (like Pimax, Eagle Dynamics, Microsoft, Asobo) to continue the work.

      Yes for sure. We mentioned Mbucchia in the description but probably should have called him out in the video as well. Mbucchia has done so much for Pimax as well as for the whole VR community.

    This is such a great demo why DFR and eyetracking is needed for high end VR and why I hope all future headsets have eyetracking.

    You should also include non Nvidia GPU's be it Intel or AMD. I am getting great results with my RX7900 XT Pimax 8K-X in full field of view in Il2. My poor old RTX2080 couldn't touch the FPS the 7900XT pushes on the same CPU/MB/Ram. This without resorting to DFR or FSR or any of that stuff.
    Loving it.

      7900XTX have the same performance rate as a 4090 on DCS world (if you take a saphirre nitro +)

    Just get a 4090, it's a expensive hobby, no question

      I've got a 3090 and in DCS with DFR and DLSS I have no reason at all to upgrade to a 4090. Also it's a very bad timing to go for the 4090. It's still expensive as hell and probably soon the old-gen card. I recommend buying Nvidia cards right at or after launch. They don't drop in price anyway (often keep climbing) and so you can actually enjoy them much longer. So I wait for the 5090.

    You used MSAA here. I recommend to use DLSS quality to boost FPS even more. It's crazy how much FPS DLSS gives in DCS VR. There is some ghosting though (e.g. in the radar screen or exterior cameras) but it's better to have 40% more frames and just a little ghosting than having no ghosting and a laggy stuttering performance. With DFR and DLSS I get constant 70-90 FPS with my RTX3090 and Pimax Crystal. Usually I activate 120Hz mode and cap FPS to 60 and they just won't drop below. With my Oculus Quest I mostly had like 30-36 FPS without DFR and DLSS and the image obviously was much worse and also extremely stuttery. Now it's just super smooth and beautiful. There is no RTX4090 needed with DFR at all. Also give DLSS a try. Totally worth for me.

    Wait, so i can use a crystal with my 2080S, and that i dont need to wait until i get my 4090? Bet! Not 100% sure if my current CPU is strong enough, tho. It's only a 9900k with 96G of RAM

    I've been on the fence about a Pimax for a while due to performance concerns and the ridiculous 100 dollar return costs (no Amazon option here). I have an Alienware 5950x, 64gb with a 3090. Is 90 or 72 fps achievable with DFR? I currently get around 45 FPS (min 32) with a G2 on max GFX settings.

    • @PimaxVR
      @PimaxVR  8 месяцев назад +1

      Just also depends on other settings but with DFR on the low graphic settings and 1.0 render resolution (as shown in the video) we easily got 90 FPS with a 3090

    • @richardhill6985
      @richardhill6985 8 месяцев назад

      @PimaxVR ah OK thanks for the reply. Low GFX settings isn't really a compromise I'd be willing to make if i can run at 45 with a g2 on max. 60 or whatever at max isnt worth the 1500eur upgrade. If Pimax had a better returns policy then I would have given it a chance, does make me wonder what confidence they actually have if they need to put a $100 surcharge on.

    What are your in-game settings? Is this the native Pimax DFR which hasn't been working or is this a 3rd party DFR?

    Pointless watching this video when you’ve set your render resolution to 0.75. If you can’t run the Pimax at full resolution then there is no point buying the Pimax in the first place. FWIW I own a crystal but would not recommend it to anyone with anything less than a 3090

    this is a bad video. DFR alone does not allow so many frames. This is useless without what the rest of the in game gfx settings are.

    • @PimaxVR
      @PimaxVR  8 месяцев назад

      Hi, the graphic settings haven't changed in any of the GPU so in this it's a pure test of DFR performance gains. You can check the description of the video, we used Laubox's graphic setting recommendations.

    This is totally blurry with DFR ON.... A real shame to show this kind of video just for try to sell headset...
    Don't Buy a Crystal if you have to activate the DFR, It'll be more blurry and lees beautiful than to use a quest 3 without DFR...

    • @kuriatal
      @kuriatal 8 месяцев назад +5

      As a crystal owner I can assure you dfr is completely unnoticeable, everything is perfectly clear. This can be hard to see in a video as only a small area where the user is looking will be rendered in high quality

    • @PimaxVR
      @PimaxVR  8 месяцев назад +3

      The wearer won't notice DFR, that's why it's such a great feature.
