I'm not sure it actually _will_ be a joy to fly if you're coming from DCS. I've made that mistake before. It'll be way too easy and with not enough to actually do in the plane, as none of the avionics or weapons systems work. The flying itself is just too easy when you have no other tasks. I guess there's always carrier landings, but you'll get bored of those eventually when they're the only real challenge available.
@@NobbsAndVageneEvery day more and more fighters start flying in the hands of civilians around the world and to some extent we can do something similar in MSFS. They are awesome machines and incredibly fun to fly, there is plenty of places to go and different things do with them.
@@NobbsAndVagene The biggest issue is that it's almost 2024 and _Microsoft_ Flight Simulator 2020 still doesn't support Force Feedback for sticks like the _Microsoft_ Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. Coming from DCS with the absolutely brilliant FFB modeling to basically a dead stick in MSFS is just [no words]. But that's neither HB's nor IFE's fault. But I gladly bought the thing with the DCS owner's discount and I wouldn't be surpised it this suddenly now is the best fighter jet available for MSFS by a huge margin.

Beautiful plane. Killer presentation. Impeccable camerawork. Nice job letting the MSFS renderer speak for itself too; those magnificent thunderstorms really complement the gravity of the Fleet Defender role. The score gave me chills. Yall know how to build hype.
As someone who loves both of these but is generally disappointed with the less detailed MSFS equivalents of DCS aircraft, I really am glad to see this. I hope Heatblur eventually brings their F-4 and Viggen to MSFS as well, and in general would be cool to see more DCS devs port their modules over
Me too. Hopefully this will open a lot of sim pilots eyes on what they have been missing out on DCS aircraft that have been limiting themselves to only MSFS.

Landing a plane in MFS feels like I'm a brick being guided by an invisible hand. Once you make contact with the ground it stays there. Landing a plane in DCS feels like I'm a Kite with toothpicks for landing gears. Wind, plus reactionary physics with the ground and airplane movement is superior.
Whoever put this video together is talented as hell. Plus the work that's gone into this mod is incredible. This video alone pushed me into getting into flight sims. Incredible
Only the weapons are inactive, it flies just like it does in DCS, so if that is all you are looking to do, then it would actually be better for MSFS since you have the entire world to fly in.

Just like pretty much any decent sim out there, MFS allows to use external flight models. SFM isn't exactly better than the default physics by Asobo and that's why people develop their own flight models for DCS - even some modders do.
Dude give MSFS another chance. The state of MSFS 2020 is lightyears ahead of what it was at launch. Using Bing map data they've literally created a 1:1 replica of the entire globe. It's GA and VFR bliss.
A2A Comanche and Milviz Cessna C310R are both marvelous. Every simulator is platform and it is up to devs what they make out of it. Just remember fsx. Yes it had a terrible physics, yet A2A managed to create realistic aircrafts for it.
@@n35ql Again, you can put *any* physics you want into FSX too. I won't be surprised if HB's F-4E will behave very similar to the MilViz' one (for FSX).

Thanks for bringing this to the sim. I’m not a combat flight sim guy and I’m on XBOX these days but the F-14 is such a beautiful and iconic aircraft that with such a high quality effort I couldn’t resist. Doesn’t disappoint! Shame about Microsoft’s weapons policy. I’m not bothered about being able to fire them but I don’t see the problem in allowing the models to sit on hardpoints! Anyway, excellent work. Thanks again!
I have only flown in DCS because I am mostly interested in military aircraft. However I rarely go online looking for trouble. I mostly just like to learn to operate all the systems to get a good experience of how it was to fly those jets as a military pilot doing off line combat missions. That experience has given me a unique perspective when seeing movies like Top Gun that no documentary can give.
I wonder what the feel difference will be compared to DCS. I guess I have to pay Heatblur twice for this wonderful product, because they damn well deserve the compensation. Hope to spin this one just as hard as the DCS version!

Seeing the rapid roll rates in the trailers has convinced me that this is THE REPLACEMENT for the DC Designs F-14, which feels like flying a bus honestly. Can’t wait to buy after work today! 🤘🏻
@@hresvelgr7193 how so lmao? the only area where DCS graphics compete with MSFS ones are clouds, which are arguably more realistic looking on DCS, however their implementation is rather bare bones, no wind simulation (they are static), no customizability like MSFS clouds, and a loads of other issues come with them such as performance hit, jumping/dancing clouds (very annoying, even more in VR), Zindex issues (where you can see particles like contrails that are supposed to be behind the clouds for example), etc

They are not static, they move with the wind, they are customizable, they do not jump or dance and you cannot see contrails behind them

It really would be, Im hoping we can see more of the teamwork that has come from this, i know alot of developers could help speed some additions up for sure, Im sure IFE could help heatblur with the eurofighter and heatblur could help IFE with theres for MSFS DC,CJ,SC addons just dont hit right, and litterally leaves developers such as IFE and Justflight to bring study level to a what is a simulator afterall.@@almightyIrie

To bring such a high fidelity DCS model of the Tomcat into MSFS is a massive achievement. There is every reason for a military aircraft to exist in this sim platform, to think, we can enjoy flying her all over the world with live weather. Fantastic.
Beautiful module, i bought and can't stop flying it. I only whish that the jester assisted startup also had a mode that circled the switches and controls that jester calls out. I don't come from dcs so i don't know where to put my hands
So, people have been saying the flight models b/t the MSFS and DCS Tomcats are different. Since both are made by the same Co. Why is that? I don't really know much about how these things work under the hood, so to speak, but I would think HB would want there product to perform the same in both sims. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thank you very much, great work 👍🏻 I have just 2 little questions : 1st question Are there updates coming up soon or later because there are some buttons that don’t work such as : 1 - Hyd Transfer Pump (we can’t switch the button to Shuttoff or Normal) 2 - Emergency Flight Hydraulics switch (we can only switch the button to Auto(low) or Low) 3 - The Wing Sweep switch on the right side of the right throttle (when I tried to switch it to Manual and sweep the wings to 50 degrees because Jester told to do so, nothing happened) 2nd question Is the F14 flight model the same of the DCS F14 version ?
It would be a blast to fly the F-4 in MSFS. I am going to get a head start learning to operate it when it launches in DCS soon. From my experience Heatblur models take time to learn in a rewarding way.

Honestly releasing for both is a smart move to get money. It is a good product that appeals to both of those audiences and I say this as one who is in the DCS camp (I'm too much of a "murder hobo" to play MSFS and would rather have my weapons than access to the entire world).

The best part about this aircraft is that if you fly below 500’, Jester turns it into a convertible one seater. Gotta fix that bug. But damn this thing is pretty.

I emailed HeatBlur and they came back saying the audiotune was specifically created for trailers (I'm not sure if it was specific for this one tho) and so it isn't otherwise publicly available.
Honestly I may get MFS2020, just for this. I love DCS but truly something it's been lacking for me is the ability to just fly and explore the world, I love that MFS2020 has the entire world. Even though DCS has the better flight models as well as being able to do ATA and ATG.
Love that this beauty is finally available in MSFS. Disappointingly generic music choice for this trailer, especially after you had "Mighty Wings" in the last one.

Most launch trailers for DCS give you chills. You should look up some past ones.

I emailed HeatBlur and they came back saying the audiotune was specifically created for trailers (I'm not sure if it was specific for this one tho) and so it isn't otherwise publicly available.

Sounds like 2WEI. This composer was used in some DCS and Heatblur trailers in the past. I think it's them.

Wow it's almost indistinguishable from reality.
Honestly I may get MFS2020, just for this. I love DCS but truly something it's been lacking for me is the ability to just fly and explore the world, I love that MFS2020 has the entire world. Even though DCS has the better flight models as well as being able to do ATA and ATG.
