Your mom deserves the mom of the year award at this point. This was 8-9 full 4 point rotations PER LOCK! WHAT?!!! 😭 I'm a loctitian, so when I saw 4 inches of new growth I just had to count. Girl if you had to pay for that...that's a full installation right there; not counting the holes she was fixing and the loc-smithing she was doing as she went along 🤯 Only a mother's love could have had the boldness to tackle this. She's the G.O.A.T. Period.

No one has patience like a mother does for her child. She's the real MVP. I had to do this when my daughter's hair got really matted. I took my time and over a two week time span was able to salvaged her hair and detangle her hair. Her hair was butt length at the time.😫😫 💪🏾

Fr tho because even though I maintain my locs, mom installed them even when we found that she had to redo almost all of the sections a second time so that that turned out right😭

Hi Miss T. it's me again. OMG if you'd gone to a salon for your hair repair, the cost would be thru the roof. Plus I think they would have suggested combining your locs....BUT....Thank God for a Mother's Love and Care and Willingness to make the sacrifice for her beautiful baby girl! Your MOM...what can I say that hasn't already been said.....She's totally awesome! The care and patience in repairing the holes and interlocking all of the new growth....OMG that was another install! I remember letting my hair grow out this much 4 yrs ago and could not find a video on it. I swore I was going to have to start over but I found a lovely lady who put my back together no problem 🙏❤️

This is beautiful that your mom was able to do your reti. I hadn’t had a reti in about 6 months. I went today for $65.00 an hour my loctician took 6 and 1/2 hours. The base of my loc was to small so we decided to combine some of them. I now have two headed dragons throughout my locs now.
The love and devotion of a mother never ceases to amaze me! Moms is killing it! I’m glad your locs could be saved they are gorgeous still and your journey continues pass this pothole in the road! Btw my son (18mo) watched this and it relaxed him so much, very soothing! I need the song used!

Yes baby…I have to do this to my daughters’ too…she’s in college and hates to get retightenings…every 3 months we go through this…I be wanting to cut all hers off and start over again but I refuse because I remember the trouble I went through when she was younger trying to get that stuff to grow…MAMAS WITH COLLEGE OR JUST DAUGHTERS WITH LOCKS ARE THE REAL MVPS!!! The fact that the other lady cut some of yours and telling you that was your only option with her, kinda makes her untrustworthy. Most of those loctitians will not have the patience to deal with too much new growth.. glad that your mom decided to help you out in getting them back in tact.. I know this was a lesson well learned.. I’ve never let my Sisterlocks go past 8 weeks and the only time that happened was because I didn’t book when I should have with my loctitian.it’s very nerve wrecking😩😂..Good luck and stay on top of that maintenance at all costs👏🏾👍🏾.

I was also thinking along the same lines but then I think she loves her locs this size. So to prevent herself from getting into this mess again,she should try as much as possible to keep up with her retightening schedule. Possibly spread it over a period of 7 days and she'll be good.
That's what I do. In order not to get overwhelmed, I spread my retightening over a 3 day period and I have 227 locs.

@@905atl It’s to fix holes that may have resulted from past reties. Sometimes when you end your last retire and begin the new one in the same rotation a little hole in the locs can be created
I had to hack mine and do it every 4 weeks instead of 6. The reties are a lot faster that way and it looks neater on me.

The perfect example of Mama knows best. ✨💐✨ The loctitian acted like it was impossible because she didn’t want do it. But Mom proves it can be done. I knew you wouldn’t have to cut it.
Correction: I shouldn’t have assumed she didn’t want to or that she thought it was impossible, but instead considered that she may not have been able to with her schedule, so she made a suggestion based on what was feasible for her to do as a loctitian. I would have also suggested as an alternative to finger detangle with a good oil and retie at home and explained that it would be a large investment of time. It just seemed like the loctitian offered cutting as the only solution, so maybe I misunderstood.
To fix her hair, it would have likely cost her the price of a new installation plus repair. Locticians who do this for a living are in a very strick schedule and usually are booked up months in advance. This means their time is not flexible. Moms will do anything for our babies, so she knew he mother would take on the task for her and save her that astronomical cost and unnecessary cutting of hair. The loctician didn't say it was impossible , the loctician gave all options to her that were feasible with what she was working with.

Honestly though, how would you be able to keep up with those? They are absolutely stunning but TINY! I'm loc'd 6mos today and thought I wanted them this small until I did my first retie.
