I bought the S1 Baton almost a year ago, march 16. I went down to GoingGear with my brother and dad. I planned on buying the aluminum version. With my dad and brother being somewhat gear junkies fell in love with the light also. I really like the uncoated titanium version but budgeted enough for the aluminum. My brother spotted me the difference of the aluminum version as a birthday present. He ended up buying a raw copper version and my dad picked up the aluminum. These lights are awesome. I have carried mine everyday, with the exception of a week when I lost it, and then a family friend found it. My brother lost his copper version and wound up picking up the Mini in copper. I now have the S2 that I received as a Christmas present also. I always carry mine with the pocket clip over the push button because I've had it come on in my pocket several times, well actually almost every time that I've forgotten to position it back over the button. Great lights, even if it is made in china and worth the money.
That bead blasted titanium one looks awesome. I have the S1R which I love. I'd love that in titanium, because I don't think I'd give up the recharging base.
I bought one of these in the flash sale last Friday. I wanted the rechargeable like was shown in your video but it wasn't a part of the sale. I have to say I'm impressed. Beautiful very well made light. Couldn't be happier with it. Not only that since their was some confusion they sent me the rechargeable S1 for FREE! I've always been a big fan of Surefire and Streamlight but I be a new favorite brand in Olight now. Thanks so much for the video and introducing me to Olight!
You should do a video on what camera and gear equipment you use! You are one of my inspirations for making videos and I would love to see what camera and mounts and mics and software you use. Thanks!
Do you know the winning numbers are found under the pocket clip? It is not the serial number. I have the ti and really like the NW light better than the CW.
Love the stainless and rainbow titanium. Doing some welding at work on thin stainless steel I sure have a real appreciation for stainless steel. Very tough and great looking. The titanium is amazing also. Perfect light. Awesome video! Thanks
Why is it that the grass one is never included in the grouping of limited edition lights even though it is? And also why are ther some copper skin is with blue accents and some with silver?
I almost got an s10r, but I'm not crazy about the magnetic tailcap for pocket carry. It would stick to my keys, knives and who knows what else. You guys don't have that issue with the S2?
I have an S2 as well as an S1. Have to say, the S2 is fantastic, while the S1 leaves to be desired when it comes to runtime, and it's very picky when voltage sag kicks in. And since the S Mini is basically a shorter S1...
My S1 baton died. I tried several new CR123 batteries with no luck. I emailed Olight and never heard back. The forums say the end cap needs to be cleaned, but that didn't work either. Any suggestions Sootch? It was one of my favorite EDC lights. My S1 Copper is my leave at home light. An it heavy. Anyone else have trouble with Olights and their customer service?
Great review. Any chance you would be willing to sell the bead blasted smini? If you still have it. I've just recently gotten into flashlights and would really like to get the bead blasted smini;)
You got it wrong about tge stepping down from high to medium mode. Here is what the leaflet says; "The current mode will be memorized. Modes that can be memorized are: Moonlight, low, medium, and high (high mode is memorized for only 10 minutes. After that it will revert to medium when the light is turned on."
I got the copper S Mini and I love it. Replaced a Fenix E15 I was using for EDC, which worked great, but the Olight is so much fricking brighter (and sexier). It's quite a bit heavier than the Fenix was, my copper one anyway, but that ain't a big deal to me. Thanks for the video, sootch. Also, I first heard of these limited edition S Minis due to Going Gear's newsletter, so you might wanna sign up for it to get heads up on stuff like that.
I REALLY don't like the fact that this drops to 60 lumens so quickly. If I need to use this for an extended period of time, I would at least like 100 lumens. 60 is okay for tight spaces, but outside I really want more.
Pville_Boy I'm not too sure, but you might want to check the S1R out, it has max lumen of 900. So maybe it's mid mode is around 500. Not sure of any stepdown, but you can find out more through the internet.
Based on your review of the S1 i purchased that. I really love it. I was almost sold on trading for this, but I dont want to give up the magnetic cap. Bummer, great review though.
Thanks! Tho I generally don't buy goods directly from USA, unless the shipping is very cheap (a few dollar only perhaps). Sadly most of the time the shipping to Singapore is easily $20+ to $50 or more. Which I kinda not willing to pay for that, especially that I got the time to wait and I don't need it immediately.
I've been trying to Depress my torches button but it just wont respond to me. I've been telling it that its round and ugly and should be on the tail and yet no response, all I get is silence!!.
Is anyone else having an issue running the olight orb-163P03 rcr123a battery with this? Mine immediately shuts off as soon as I enter turbo mode. Thanks!
This is a marketing ploy. My surefire G2x-pro is 320 lumens and is brighter than the mini baton. It's got more to do with how large the bell is than how high the number is
You can't use it as a keychain because there is no hole for a keyring at the bottom of the flashlight. Also, there is no intermediate level between 60 lumens (a bit low) ans 550 lumens (too much in a lot of cases). Conclusion : very bad design in my opinion.
those are some nice light I just can't not bring myself to pay that much money for a light plus my wife would kill me lol. thanks for video lots of info
I could cough up $80 for an 18650 light with a lot of Oomph, but that is insane for a tiny light that can only sustain 60 lumens. Especially considering that it's made in China.
Mandalore06 If the same torch is made in USA with the same material and everything, the price will be ...... LOL! I'm pretty sure that it will hit to a price that I won't even consider to look at. (I'm just being realistic) The torch that I was issued when I was in the army, many years ago was less that US$20. If that works well for a soldier, it will be more than enough for civilians. It's fine to get a better light, but there should be a limit on the price.
Really... $65.00 flashlight ?? I can think of a crap load more stuff to get instead of a chinese made product. Love the channel but I can't buy this one.
Carlos T Totally agreed! Alot of things from China is crap, but alot of them is Good Stuff or Good Enough for the value. China stuff can be bad, but if there is good QC (like from better reputation company) their item can be superior than some countries. Olight, Nitecore, Thrunite, JetBeam, Klarus and etc, these are good China Flashlight company.
yeah I live in Rutherford County we have bad air conditions, anyway I would love to have one of those lights for my job on duty as armed officer,.

Sootch00 , I just received my s mini today, man love this light! Your reviews are very accurate and that's the reason I bought it. So thanks man!
hey bud. love ur stuff. thanks for the videos and doing ur part to inform us consumers.
Thanks Jesse!
Got the rainbow for my wife for Christmas. Getting her a matching knife from Kershaw to go with it.
You should do a video on what camera and gear equipment you use! You are one of my inspirations for making videos and I would love to see what camera and mounts and mics and software you use. Thanks!
Thank you sootch for the video
I love all of them
Is there any way to replace the rubber switches, if they wear out? Those little lights are so solid, that it might be necessary at some point.
Love the lockout feature.
Hey you said makes a great gift. I will take the Stainless Steel :)
At the beginning of the video,
Were you checking your truck for bullet holes? Hehe
I'm getting one of these for sure. Thanks for posting

Sootch, does Olight offer the Mini or sad s1 baton with a key chain loop?
Thanks for all you do!
I just wish they would offer this light with a lens down carry option :(
You can spot the ash flying around from the forest fires. Great light, seems to be a winner.
Awesome review, brother! As always! You could also mention the cool placing of the hole for lanyard within the clip :)
I have the S10r and it is another really good one. Just a little bit bigger then those
Definitely going to have to get my gf one of these..... and myself but that comes second!
Hey are you up in North Carolina by chance? I know there are fires up around Maggie Valley right now.
just a cool little light greetings from Luxembourg
Thanks for watching my friend.
liked the blooper section.
Why is it that the grass one is never included in the grouping of limited edition lights even though it is? And also why are ther some copper skin is with blue accents and some with silver?
I've considered the S Mini, but I do love my S1R. The 900 lumens on turbo makes a difference.
I Love my Olight S-2 Baton . It is small enough that I see no reason to go smaller .
AmericanCoinHunting Agreed. I don't go anywhere without my S2
treadhead44 me three.
I almost got an s10r, but I'm not crazy about the magnetic tailcap for pocket carry. It would stick to my keys, knives and who knows what else. You guys don't have that issue with the S2?
Mandalore06 i can understand but the magnet is removable (replaceable too). Its a minor annoyance.. I just dont put my keys in that pocket
I have an S2 as well as an S1. Have to say, the S2 is fantastic, while the S1 leaves to be desired when it comes to runtime, and it's very picky when voltage sag kicks in.
And since the S Mini is basically a shorter S1...
like the many camera angles...enjoy all videos.
Thanks Brother!
I realy love your vids man! Thank you a lotttttt!
How would you attach it to a keychain? I don't see any holes for a ring.
Awesome video. This one seems to stay in turbo when cycling through the modes.
My S1 baton died. I tried several new CR123 batteries with no luck. I emailed Olight and never heard back. The forums say the end cap needs to be cleaned, but that didn't work either. Great video informative and to the point as usual good stuff.
Great video, thanks!
Are these lights programmable?
Do more survival tips and more of those videos where you take regular household items and show survival uses for it
Very cool light. Nice review
Great review, thanks. Love the sand blast titanium!
Where are these made? Thank you in advance.
China.
Can you put the magnetic s1 base on the s1 mini?
Great review. Any chance you would be willing to sell the bead blasted smini? If you still have it. I've just recently gotten into flashlights and would really like to get the bead blasted smini;)

Nice flashlight !
Is it made in the US??????
Is there a magnet in the tail cap?
2:33 pretty sure that is taller than 2 inches...
Try out dale atwood para cord dispenser

What is the best rechargeable battery to use for this light? ...... Thanks
Which do you like better the copper s mini or the s turbo rechargeable 900 lum
Olight S1R or the S Mini?
I REALLY don't like the fact that this drops to 60 lumens so quickly. If I need to use this for an extended period of time, I would at least like 100 lumens. 60 is okay for tight spaces, but outside I really want more.
Will you still get max output using a 650mAh RCR123A battery?
great video
I love this flash light r u planning on giving it away I would love it
Any lights out there in this relative size that stays around 500 lumens instead of dropping down a few hundred lumens after minutes of use?
the emitter would overheat, get damaged.
Pville_Boy I'm not too sure, but you might want to check the S1R out, it has max lumen of 900. So maybe it's mid mode is around 500. Not sure of any stepdown, but you can find out more through the internet.

I'll just wait for sales to come and get the cheapest model, as I'm more into the function than It's look.
Darn. I'm sorry I missed that. Oh well.
Thanks!

another good video
Can you use this as a pistol light?
Just ordered mine on goinggear.com. Good stuff Sootch00!👍🏽
Is anyone else having an issue running the olight orb-163P03 rcr123a battery with this? Mine immediately shuts off as soon as I enter turbo mode. Thanks!
yeah! M.I.C...Guuuuuuuuuuuuud
try to switch tailcaps.
I think they're different widths, I was thinking that too though :)
The more you know
Can I have one any color can do. 😁
This is a marketing ploy. My surefire G2x-pro is 320 lumens and is brighter than the mini baton. It's got more to do with how large the bell is than how high the number is
Because you're perceiving _candelas,_ not lumens.
Coletion flashlight

cool
Coo hwite.
Awesome, if 550 lumen really was true. Unfortunately, that is far from 550 actual lumen.
those are some nice light I just can't not bring myself to pay that much money for a light plus my wife would kill me lol. thanks for video lots of info
brianj123458 I know how you feel, lol!

Have you tried out Convoy? REALLY worth the cash, and it's cheaper too.
انا الاول هههه ياسبايك
Congratulations!
SensiblePrepper 😎
Really... $65.00 flashlight ?? I can think of a crap load more stuff to get instead of a chinese made product. Love the channel but I can't buy this one.
TNBigHorn Not all things from China are cheap (or cheaply made). This is a great brand. Price is a bit high, but they are unique limited editions.
Carlos T Totally agreed! Alot of things from China is crap, but alot of them is Good Stuff or Good Enough for the value. Convoy, Jaxman and Eagle Eye are also worthy of mention.
