  • Don't have $400? No problem! This won't be quite as good as a VH11, but it can work for those on a budget.

Perfect, I see it as a proof that the Go controller works just as well as the VH-11 controller. However, I would see it's purpose as DIY controller for DIY hihat cymbals. BTW, Jobeky drums is using this controller with their hihat.

It's not as good as the vh11, the construction of the piece is not as high quality as the vh11. But I'm really glad it's out there. It performs really well. I'm surprised no one has made something like this before.

Thanks Justin, I’ve had issues with my Alesis pro x hi hat for years now, been too stubborn to make a change cause of dough. This is a proper, cheap solution that works well with a diy pintech 14” practice cymbal and $20 single hit piezo box trigger, works well with Alesis dm-10 module.

    Love the channel, it’s excellent!
With regards to the stand mounted HH v rack mounted....I honestly do not see/feel or hear enough, if any, of a difference to warrant the cost of the VH11, not including a HH stand...
I’ve played acoustic kits for decades, and electronic kits going on 10 years now. I find a good old CY12H with a decent controller plays just as well. It’s the player, not the gear. Although, I suppose application matters too.
For me, a drummer in a new wave tribute, I don’t need whatever edge a VH11 would provide, nor do I need the extra lug of the stand. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hello from France, thank you for this very useful video. I didn't know this GoEdrum trigger. I was not ready to spend $400 for a VH-11 but I was not happy with the FD-8 pedal. I've bought the GoEdrum trigger for my old TD4-KX2 drum set and it's working perfectly with the VH-11 setting. I'm using it with the CY-5 stock cymbal but I'll change for a CY-12C because the CY-5 is not well balanced. I recommand this trigger for people who want to have a good experience for a really attractive price.

I am just wondering if there is a narrow clutch like you showed here for the standard hihat stand or are you using a thinner hihat stand that fits that narrow clutch that you are saying. And by forcing that narrow clutch does it create damage on the hole? Thanks

QUESTION: If I use a Yamaha PCY100 10" 3 Zone Cymbal Pad (which is more of an uneven half cymbal, than a full round circle cymbal) Will it still work just the same? or will it be tilted while at rest and tilted while playing?
I've noticed that other drumsets use that exact same cymbal as a hi hat but while stuck in place on a mount so it doesn't jiggle, never on a hi hat pedal. Which is why I'm curious. I really enjoy using that cymbal as a hi hat pedal in stores, and would love to buy one for this. Thanks!

Cool video! I'm considering buying and an alesis trigger i/o, a Roland pdx8 and some Cy12c for making a custom setup. My question is, ¿does the alesis trigger support the "chokeable" function? ty

I don't believe it supports choke. But I'm not certain.

Hello Lucas :) I'm not certain, I haven't done it with that cymbal, but I think it might be possible.

Hello just got my go edrum but my hats trigger hits the unit. Do you know of any cheap cymbal that I can use with the go edrum unit...I see go edrum make a hi hat to go with it but I don’t know if it’s any good at all? I have the Alesis pro x hats .my other cymbals the triggers are in the way of the edrum unit .where they hit the spring part befor the cymbal does. Hope you can help me out ..thanks steve

It works on most roland and alesis ones. Can't guarantee every single case though, there are hundreds of modules out there.

Hi! Thank you for the video! I'm from Brazil and I love your channel! I need some help. I just bought this controller and I have a problem. I have a TD11KV. When I use the controller with the sounds of the module I have a great performance. But when I use EZDRUMMER 2, I realize that the half-open sound of the hi-hat sounds bad, as if EZDRUMMER 2 was not able to reproduce all the sounds of the hi-hat despite i having great hardware. I connect the module on my Macbook Pro via USB cable to use EZDRUMMER 2 via MIDI. All the other parts of the drums work perfectly, without lag, including the original Hi hat CY-5. But when I use EZDRUMMER with this controller I have problems. What could be happening? Thank you very much! Your channel helps me a lot!

I'm having this same problem. I'm going to be hunting for a solution, if I find the answer, I'll make a video.

This is a very interesting video!
They look almost identical and very useful.
I wonder if there's a way to kinda remake the hi hat on the 30kv.
    The VH13 I believe it's called.

+Chase Gardner I'm not sure. I know it could be done some how. I've played it before, but I'd have to take apart a vh12 or vh13 to see how it works.

I'm guessing the VH12 was the Roland TD20SX hi hat?

Yes it works but i can't use it for foot splash :(
Maybe it will work as Justin says only with the Roland cy 12 crash. I will try it when i get my new cymbal from thomann.de in the couple next weeks.
