This brings tears of ecstasy to me. If you watch Jay McShann you can tell the blues do the same for him. This is from an excellent movie called "The Last of the Blue Devils."

The musician's Union room was so crammed the camera could not film Jay McShann's hands on the keys.

I remember watching this on the TV, circa 30yrs ago. Recorded it on the VHS player but was so angry with myself a few yers later when I accidentally taped over some of it. Jay McShann has such an infectious smile - and he reminds me of my grandfather AND wow, great piano playing too ! Love the singing from everyone on the film. Big group of long-time musician friends all gathered together, in the later stages of their life, and having fun together.Great stuff ! Ghanks for sharing !

Here’s the one and only blues-screamer Big Joe T. Singin’ those rough/dirty/greasy blues like no one else. Great stuff we don’t hear anymore, folks. Dig & Cheers!

The Big Man sounds good here...all the people walking in front of him aside. Nice to see interest returning to the real boss of the blues. Billy Haley WHO???

The name of this song is called, "Piney Brown Blues" and I think it was written by Big Joe Turner? :)
It's awesome to finally find a full video of this song, since Jay McShann's solos are awesome as is Joe Turner's vocals.
