My uncle bought me a jazz compilation cassette when I was 13 years old and this song was in there. Lets just say I fell in love with jazz and the blues ever since.
Lol, I got some good blues tapes at the commissary down at GITMO, while in the U.S. Navy back in the Eighties. Funny, back then it was sort of a semi unknown (to the public) Marine Corps outpost and Naval shipboard training op area for pre-deployment readiness qualifications, in addition to the Naval air base of A-4 attack jets, of course.
i seen all these guys and many more i am proud to say i attended ann arbors blues and jazz festivals every year for seven years and the last one held in exile in windsor canada
OH! for a time machine, just to go back and see these disciples preaching the blues. Jesus had the 3 wise men, but me, I got the 3 KINGS................ BB King, Albert King,Freddy King and the rest of the real deal story tellers with music, T-Bone, my Muddy Water, I slide into Elmore James while passing by Bukka White,Magic Sam and Boogie Woogie to J L Hooker & jiving to Earl Hooker man the list goes on.........................
++Jan Trieger Don't forget Jimmy Rushing. I saw him with the Basie band in the early 60's. Fabulous. After a fairly pedestrian first half with the band alone, Rushing came on and galvanised them into the tremendous swinging outfit that they should be. Admittedly Rushing is more of a jazz blues type of singer than Joe Turner, and usually sings with horns in backing combos when not with a big band. He was with Basie for many years. He can really deliver the Blues. However, this is a great track, and Big Joe is in particularly impressive form.
Для мєне, один з найкращих альбомів. Дякую.😍
