I first heard this song in the spring of 1967. It was on the radio, by, what the DJ said, was a new group from England. I had never heard of them, and didn't know anything about them, but I ran to the record store (remember them), and pulled the album up out of the bin. It was the first time I looked into the face of Jimi Hendrix. I was a 15 year old Black kid in The South Bronx, and finally I had a rock idol of my own. I saw him perform 3 times live, and met him at a club one night in 1968. I think Jimi would be very proud of this version. The legacy lives on! Excellent! I may be 71 years old, but damn, she's got pretty legs!
Covid is bullshit, big business going fascist / communist to crush all the little fish. ww3 is a virtual war started with a bullshit MEDIA BLITZKRIEG. HAng em all to the pope and queen.

I've been lucky enough to see this band live many many times. Some of the most trance inducing music to run through the human body. An artist to audience connection that lets you know your senses are indeed ALIVE! I dance my body into drenching sweat every time, 15 minutes of total personal glory. God I hope they play again after all this covid stuff goes away...........
Where did you see them. First time I saw them, was this jam. I think they popped up because I pulled up Jimmy's "Drifting" jam, and another song. All my music is in storage, and I wanted to listen Jimmy. But this guitarist pulled me in with the sound of his first few notes. It's engrained on my brain now. I hear it just by thinking about it. I'd love to see them live ! I listened to that song sum 10x that first night I heard it. Good thing my sound system was in storage. I know I would have cranked it up enough to disturb my neighbors. I've done stage and sound work b4 and have a great volume tolerance before the music gets distorted. I enjoy the sound thrust thumping my chest.
@@brianwade879 I'm lucky enough to live in Colorado where Otis Taylor is based. Before covid he would play somewhere close a few times a year. Hermans Hideaway and Dazzle Jazz are two places in Denver I have seen 'em more than once. I believe the album this cut is on is titled: Hey Joe opus Red Meat. It's a good album but just doesn't capture this live punch. Otis is getting older and I hope he's got a bit of touring left in him, I really miss this...

Best version ever
Just when you think music has moved to the point where nothing will ever light your fire again along comes something like this; rock solid rhythm section and three spectacular individual performers - pure magic, I’m so glad I found it.
Without question, this is the all time best recording of this song by Otis and his band. Just an amazing performance captured by an amazing cinematographer. Thanks Philip!

Sorry. Autocorrectur Sound music IS absolut perfect
Dear Otis, you really know hou to choose good musicians. Excellent playing. Greece
I was in a R&R band in the 60's that played the fast version of Hey Joe by the Leaves. I still remember hammering out the chords on my sunburst Fender Strat played thru my Fender Twin Reverb. Thanks for the memories.
There are about a million versions of hey joe out there, this is so different, yet absolutely fantastic, great job!
Been playing this for a long time I never tire of this fantastic performance
And that ladies and gentlemen is how you absolutely destroy a fiddle... Outstanding
You know it my friend.
I like how....
she is calmly pulling horses hair tail feathers out of Her Bow....

I've got fever and the chills and it ain't Covid. Best 15 minutes of Hey Joe I've ever witnessed.
15 minutes? I won't ask for back. Nice! \m/
I agree man. I've just came across this band. Now I'm hooked.
Covid is bullshit, big business going fascist / communist to crush all the little fish. ww3 is a virtual war started with a bullshit MEDIA BLITZKRIEG. HAng em all to the pope and queen.
I've been watching this for a year off and on. The part that gets my every time (begins at 2:30 to 4:30) is where the camera closes up on Tyler to start his solo.
That's is my greatest piece of art in this painting of a performance. Every time I listen, I hear some new nuance I didn't notice before it seems. Can't stop watching and listening. 🤣
A riveting rendition. So much to take in. Cant stop playing it.
Yes, i have heard about 1000 covers of Hey Joe in my life too, but this version is the best!
The very best version that I love so much
I've been lucky enough to see this band live many many times. Some of the most trance inducing music to run through the human body. An artist to audience connection that lets you know your senses are indeed ALIVE! I dance my body into drenching sweat every time, 15 minutes of total personal glory. God I hope they play again after all this covid stuff goes away...........
Young blood on guitar. Wow
Steve, you were really lucky. Hope to seem then too in the near future.
Pure joy to listen too and see these people.
