Fun fact: Aranea means spider which explains look.
She's gloss black with a little red like a black widow. Her armor is segmented on her appendages which make them look like spider legs. And the flared sharp metal on her boots, shoulders, and helmet look like tarantula fangs. Also all her thin flowing capes and long segmented sharp helmet tail make her look like she has 8 appendages. 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 long thin back capes, 1 long thin hip cape, and 1 long thin helmet tail equals 8. Either way her name does in fact mean spider.
Why couldn't they have made her, Cor, Luna, Cid, and that masamune general guy who shows you the first tomb permanent party members? That would have been awesome, dammit.

Giving confirmation that it still works for i have done it today it was just a pain in the ass to get her. My advice for you is as soon as you see her ass touch that ground from her ship, click that camp button fast as you possibly can
If y'all have any extra questions let me know cause i didn't some things that this video did
Did it like 8 times and either i wait too long and she jumps in battle or i warp back to rest point and i watch her ship in the distance fly away.
There's no cutscene , I only see her ship when I press "Camp" one time and then it goes away.

Every time I go to the spot damn imperials wanna show up right when the right giant comes out and i escape the red zone man I'm pissed 8 times now
this has been patched. I get her to land all the time but as soon as she joins the party it disables everything. can't sleep, can't return to last rest point, can't even save it. if you go outside the combat circle to long she leaves
so I am doing this step by step been at it for about 2 and a half hours. I can spawn the red giant no problem. she shows up and everything. that's not the issue what is the issue. is if I run away immediately and return to the rest point her ship just Flys away. but if I stay for just a second and return to rest point she shows up and I can't access it and then she leaves. it's quite infuriating actually. the time is at 0 I saved at the camp rested at the rv I am doing everything right. did it get patched for me or what
glitch stills works, after spawning red giant wait for red circle to appear then try to hurry out of it, (the further out but still in circle is easy cz red giant tries to pull u in) once you leave the circle (their is no way of knowing if magitech troops will appear or aranea ) after, jump to the last saved camp (should be close by, by following this vid) and rush to camp and press the button for camping options, if you dont see her then repeat, but i did the first time i did. after she jumps off , 2 secs and camp.
after loading the first on in auto save is shes not their load the second auto save bcz she was their for me in the second auto save, plus look at the time on the auto save

I see her ship when I do this, but the cutscene doesn't come in and when I camp, she doesn't join the party. Help?
As of March I don't think this works? I have been trying & she arrives at the spot & if Noctis is not engaged in fighting then the ship just leaves.
Haha YES!! I can confirm the glitch still works, literally just done it. It took a few attempts but it literally is down to precision timing. I even had her dialogue saying she was leaving, just as I hit the sleep button at the caravan. It worked though and in the morning she was still in my party. Can anyone confirm or deny if she 100% will leave the party if I continue with the story/side missions? I'm only on chapter 8 as I've been pharming to level up and get the upgraded weapons etc...

It hasn't been patched just did it tonight. Easiest method is to use the campsite to rest during dialogue but for those wondering it hasn't been patched :)
Doing everything per the video but no Arenea when I get back to the camp and press the button once. Maybe patched?

she is not permanent.
After you get her with the trick, if you ever meet the Red Giant again near Lestallum or TWO red giants appearing on ANY road, her ship will come again.
1. Either you are stuck with that scene until you return to Main Menu and reload the recent save.
2. Either you can finish the fight and she will LEAVE for sure. In this case, repeat the trick to get her again.
She can appear almost everywhere as long as you meet the Red Giants with the minions fire bombs or TWO red giants at the same time. But at Hammerhead is the easiest way to get her since you can see when the ship comes. Other locations are hard to see the ship coming.
How far in the game should I be? Post game or right after she joins for the first time?
when I do it the ship she comes in on comes down and takes off immediately. she doesn't even come out of it.
Can i do this when im on level chapter 4 or 3 ?? I dont have summon enemy whistle just yet. It is spawning iron giant only at 12 midnight or 0 time zone. Can anyone guides me you all guys please help me??

mfsketchthis13 It still works even after the patch 'cuz I also thought its been patched when I did it since she wasn't getting out of her drop-ship multiple times when I did it but in actuality it still does work. Just gotta be patient, in this vid he used the trailer (vehicle) to sleep in for when Aranea landed but I used the camp north of hammerhead which is closer to where she spawns then I just waited for the cutscene to play then watch until she drops on the ground as soon as she lands on the ground I accept to camp for the night. Then I just load the last save and boom it works.

mfsketchthis13 Yeah it still works just make sure before you return to your last resting point is to check the sky for her red drop ship to appear as she doesn't always show up. The vid made it seem like she shows up 100% of the time during and after midnight in-game which isn't accurate.
Aranea has never dropped down for me, and this glitch hasn't worked either. I'm on Chapter 15. Help ?

You need to call up exactly the Red Giant!. The Iron Giant summon won't work.
1. When the Red Giant Appear. The Ship of Aranae will surely appear shortly after that. This means when you are sure that the Giant that is emerging from the ground holding the Fire Saber, then warp immediately out of the red radius of the monster.
2. Press to return to your last rest point.
3. Then Immediately press Rest or Camp at point, wait until the Cut-scene of Aranae finishes and choose to Rest of Camp.
4. You will come to the next morning -> press load your recent AUTO SAVE. Then you got her!

i followed every steps accurately
either you are not in the right part of the story or if you have finished it then you are doing something wrong. coz I did it last night and it worked.

patched! ship shows up but she doesn't drop once returning back to the caravan.
and to add to this if the first transport isn't hers then just kill all the magitek and another ship will spawn. 9/10 times the second one is hers. if you get this to work please let me know
I tried this method (resting at Hammerhead) and it didn't work for me after 8 tries. Then I rested at the camp near the red giant spawn and it worked first time.

Just tried, doesn't work. I thought she was a party member after not playing for 4yrs..nothing. How disappointing seeing as she was part of a vote in which people chose to have Aran episode over Arenea as a party member which is a part of why I left in the first place. Idiotic community

Couldn't get the glitch to happen until I towed the Regalia. Don't if I just got lucky with the timing though.

You can rest. She will disappear for good if you start certain quests

J. Fulton you can't fish with her in the party
The only way she'd leave the party is if you enter certain areas/do certain quest that removes everyone in your party and once you're done Gladio, Ignis, and Promto will return to your party except for Aranea. Areas such as the Pitioss Ruins and Doing the final boss fight in the game will remove her from your party.

Never mind... its (2-1-2017) and i can confirm that the glitch is still successfully doable.. although i had to take a slightly different approach as in i used the camp sight he mentioned instead, because the camping dialogue is way shorter in comparison to using the caravan were promto start rambling on about the damn Kings Knight which will then give her time to leave the group hint: if her good bye dialogue opens up then you've already lost and have to retry the steps all over again.. hope this helps
ive been trying this for a few hours now and when i teleport back to the caravan and open up the rest options nothing happens, no cut scene of her jumping out, either her ship will just fly away or absolutely bugger all will happen, no ship and no cut scene

That only happened to me once and it was after I got to Altisia and came back to the past. Could that be the trigger?
I know that, but they had never asked me before Altisia and I had been completing every hunt that I could.

it works, but you can't fish when she's in your party so make sure you got all your fishing out of the way.

I know how to do it... I did it the first day like 2 or 3 times... But now dont work for me :s I do the same steps....
Allan Marin Make camp somewhere, wait until 1am, go out to where he went, summon enemies, once you see a dropship run out of the combat zone, pause save the game, go back to camp, click on the camp, hover over the camp option, once her cutscene has finished camp, now search for the latest save compare your current time to save times whichever is the closest is what you load
I know xD I did all that... But know, when i go back to camp, Aranea dont fall... The ship just go away OR just stay there, without move... Flying...
Allan Marin once the ship is coming in you have to immediately save and leave, wait a few seconds after the cutscene then camp

Garen Crownguard Nope this glitch is still not patched 'cuz I was able to do it last night. I did it multiple times 'cuz I also thought its been patched since she wasn't getting out of the drop ship and playing the cutscene but after a few more times of trying I finally managed to get her to drop off of her drop-ship and everything works. The glitch still works.
