Good for the original poster in notifying the IRS on her abusive aunt! What that poster’s aunt did was elder abuse, and had that been my grandma being treated that way, I would have gone to the police and had the aunt thrown in prison!
The nanny wasn't snooping on the mom's social media..... A mutual friend saw it & brought it to the nanny's attention.
The IRS whistleblower line is no joke. They pay the person that makes the report a healthy percentage of the fines if they're able to collect. Good on the OP, IMHO for being so cruel to gran.

And as a CNA for a very long time, do everything you can to prevent putting your loved ones in a home. Your loved will be treated poorly and your assets will be demolished! And I’m not saying all the workers are bad it’s literally just short staffed ,politics & One of the major problems with nursing homes is that all the senior management make decisions for the residences blindly.
Sometimes, people need more care than family can support. In that case, having a long term care policy is the the best option if you can afford the payments. It will protect your assets and cover the expenses.
this is very true...recently lost my father and he died early [not but possibly a week or so] due to ignorance and neglect of the staff. while i agree with you on the not putting the elderly in a home...there are some times where the family just cant take care of them. take me for example...i physically broke my spine...or atleast severely cracked it, trying to help my father up off the floor...cause im a wet noodle and he was like 260 of dead weight...and i already have spinal problems from birth. sometimes there is no other option than having to rely on other people to aid with the care for a loved one and its not always good...
I blame both the aunt and the dad . The aunt for the actual embezzlement and the dad for the neglect .

The 2nd story: how would this really make her a jerk? First off a child is the parents responsibility. So there's that. B, respecting peoples privacy is a thing. Post videos of your kid not your kid and thr nanny. (Of course unless the nanny is aware and consents). Also nanny jobs usually the parents are in need not the other way around. So just being respectful to your help... well helps. Don't beg her to come back. Be good to her in the first place. Im sure you rather her taking a gentle approach over pinning the baby down changing it. Heh

My main reaction to the last story is that's one hell of a great mom. She's taking an interest in who the father brings into their children's lives, but isn't trying to compete or sabotage things.
I don't really by the boyfriend's "reasons". Even if his family did this, had he never seen a TV show or movie? Even if it weren't and "herb" wedding, bringing uninvited people, especially children, is insulting to the couple. Assuming she'd just skip the wedding is ridiculous. He didn't even call ahead to tell her his sister couldn't babysit and they needed to figure something out. Most sane people would tell her to go without him and they'll see each other next day/week/whatever. Then he ghosts her after his ex calls him out for being the jerk because he can't admit he was wrong.
Really at the end it’s his ego & pride got bruised well because of that he lost girlfriend for his ego pride & most of all stupidity he’s very childish for ghosting OP
I have a wife and four kids. I do a lot of shopping at BJs, a Costco competitor. If I'm at one with a gas station, I'll fill my tank. Even with the current inflation, I've never come close to $1100 in a month from grocery spending. Only when we've bought some furniture from there have we spent that much.

The last story, not a jerk and I seriously think this might be the reason the OP's ex-BF and baby mama aren't together anymore. I'm surprise she stayed with him long enough to have 4 kids. He could have just told her right away and maybe she could have called the BFF to watch the kids or even suggest the mom to take the kids that weekend. But him not realizing he is putting his kids in an inappropriate situation is already red flags but to also give the silent treatment really shows his immaturity.
For the second story, people keep forgetting, SHE. DIDN'T. SNOOP. She was told by a friend of that family about the video and had it sent to her.

My response to story 1: my grandma is one of my favourite people in the world, and me and my siblings go up to see her as much as we can, so if this happened to me, I would have lost it.

If somebody makes my grandma or any family member eat moldy food for years you better believe ima have some serious beef with them. All ties cut! If I see them again yell and swear and probably hit a little. I’m close to all my family but for all my life besides 1 year every time I came home from school was 98% of the time at my grandmas. So I’m very close with my grandma and NOBODY MAKES MY FAMILY SUFFER WITHOUT GETTING ME SERIOUSLY PISSED OFF!

last story: I understand why some people wouldn't end a year long relationship for a 4 day silent treatment, but warning signs are a thing. Imagine she forgave him and they continued dating and then broke up later for something else. That is time she wasted on him because she did not heed the warning signs.
I think the Greedy Aunt should have wound up in prison. The mother from the second story is most likely never going to find a new nanny if she's going to violate their privacy so she caused her life being ruined not the OP not her child it was the Mom herself. Okay why would someone be that crazy to bring children to an herb party I mean wouldn't they be kicked out or something. Now I'm curious did the family of the OP from the final story did something horrible. Also I'd rather fight Thanoseid over not loosing money to the IRS I would pay my life savings to prevent getting into any legal actions. I just hope that the Mom in the final story goes to get full custody of her kids cuz the father is obviously a bad influence.

About that 90yo lady being stolen from from her own daughter. The most disgusting and horrible part for me is that that old lady was forced to eat moody food as no1 brought her sufficient food and she had no way of getting food for herself.

Story 1: i would went balistic on that aunt. I almost has a similar situation when my great grandma pass away in 2011. But karma strike that person HARD.

Story 3: the guy seriously suggest to bring his kids to a "420 wedding"? ... i mean, if you don't had options, just tell to your partner: "look, i can't go because i don't had anyone to watch the kids. If you had a friend to go or i can ask my ex if has a problem to watch them instead". Story #1: My late grandmother was living at her home with my cousin who is now in jail as her caretaker. My cousin didn’t do ANYTHING to help my grandmother. My cousin was supposed to even take care of my late grandmother’s cat which he didn’t do. The cat pooped all over his room because he wouldn’t clean the litter box. All my cousin did was play Minecraft instead of taking care my grandma.

#1 Is not a jerk. Because why would a aunt do that first she steals her sister’s money second she is scamming the family and three she is always a jerk to all the family.
#2 Is not a jerk. The person is bullying them and should have revenged some reasons they reserved revenge first they are showing this online for everyone to see and two that is a babysitter and your (or you’re) son is getting changed at least you don’t have to do it.
#3 Is not a jerk. Why would a boyfriend take a kid to a wedding and definitely not 4 kids and not wanting to give up family time and wanting to not go to the wedding for themselves and I think that a boyfriend should not do that.

The way I see it with legal revenge, if all you’re doing is showing evidence of what someone’s done to legal authorities, and they get in trouble for it, that doesn’t make you the jerk. They did it to themselves. If they didn’t want it to happen they shouldn’t have done it.
I’m not gonna defend the legal system because in a lot of cases they’re absolute horse crap, but in successful revenge where they do it right and catch them full of karma then they got what was coming for them

I know this is insensitive, but a man's pride is worth his life, same with his reputation and I do think op was wrong to cut him off in such a sudden way.
All in all, there's no winners to this situation - bf messed up, took 5 days to apologize (which isn't even that long but I get it) op just couldn't handle waiting any longer, broke up. Harsh, but understandable.
