Jason, Jason my Brother, ABSOLUTELY Awesome. Following you now for a year and must say you are spot on with your hobby. Working, and having other activities going on, and sharing time with your fiance is straight up cool. Still you make time for your love of 🚆 trains. LAYOUT, GREAT JOB. You also do a good job explaining the way of how each and every part of your set up will interact with each other. which lends it way for smooth operating of each train and system moving. Overall Jason I must say I am just in awe at the amount work you've got accomplished and that you may have much to go, overall you are ahead and keep up the good work my BROTHER. PEACE 😎🙏🌟🙏to you, your fiance, family and friends also. Take care and DIFFINITLY look forward to more of your Journey as you put together the rest of the layout. God's blessings always over each of you. Must be honest your SPIRIT is real and you have a genuine soul.😎😎😎😎😎😎
I wish i had timer and space for trains like you have, Currently I have no time no space and no trains (outside of an HO starter set that we got from my wifes father inteneded for any future grandchildren he had when he passed away that has never been even opened) so I live vicariously via youtubers like you. until such a time as I have the time / Space / Money to enter this hobby.
I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised at the dimensional wood you used - especially knowing the current price of lumber. I used nothing less than 3/4 inch plywood in my benchwork and studs like you did, back in 2011. Everything rests on structural steel racking, so I can easily stand on the layout, and it is as solid as the rock of Gibralter. My 15 x 25 layout was featured in the February 2012 issue of Classic Toy Trains.
This layout is going to be great. I know you mentioned your inspiration for the overall design was Rich Battista's BDR and you can definitely see those elements coming through. Can't go wrong with that though, phenomenal inspiration and tips from him. Great work so far!!
JD, I met you last week at stockyard express, I just wanted to say thanks for posting all your layout shots. I think your upper loop is a great design and takes the layout to a outstanding level. The double truss bridge is my favorite part of the layout. very cool!
Nice work Jason! Yes, I do see the similarities to the old layout but I think that's great. That was a great layout too. Can't wait to see your next layout update.
Hi Jason long time watcher first time making a comment I started watching your RUclips channel while trying to come up with some ideas for my own O gauge track I just wanted to say simply because you asked ,that this layout is looking fantastic! your doing it the right way sir 👍
I'm gonna miss just seeing your beautiful trains rush across that fantastic large board with nothing hiding them from view. I'm sure I'll love your plan. I just liked seeing the cars you attached to your engines wizz by.
I’m enjoying watching you build this layout Jason! I’m waiting to see VHS cases holding up part of the 3rd level like you did while building your last layout. 😆👊
Thanks so much Jason, for taking the time to share with us, your progress on the layout! I enjoyed the discussion on improvements since the old layout, and I hope you will mention the improvements in coming episodes, especially when you get to the DCS/Legacy/TMCC/Conventional aspects! Wishing you continued success and very happy holidays!
The layout is looking great! I hope we can make it to the goal of getting those trains running up there by Christmas time, good luck finding the track!
Hi Jason, Been with you for since the start. Agree on the similarity on the old layout. You are progressing well on the new layout taking your time not rushing to complete in a rush! Those atlas Pratt bridges look great , also make the layout even larger! Glad that your MTH engines are back! Are MTH engines both steam & diesel getting harder to get? The install of the turntable will be the most difficult project! I have a passion for RPO cars so keep them running on passenger trains!
Since the start? That's a long time! haha. I've still been able to get MTH engines fairly easily. There aren't too many I'm looking for at this point haha.
Great video! Your layout is awesome. I am impressed by the planning and detail of it so far. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing how the upper level turns out!
The layout is looking awesome! I can see the vision! I look forward to seeing your progress, but trains on the upper level by Christmas sounds ambitious. Good luck!
Loving the detailing with the new upper level. I would recommend the steel mill as it fits in with your era of livery and engines. Keep it going and please do your version of review for the MTH Big boy restoration. Again wonderful work.
It looks like you've been quite busy there's a young man in from the way it looks to me I'm sure you'll have that third level up and running by Christmas good luck on that venture hope to see that their liver up and running soon 👍👍
truly appreciate showing the steps for i am preparing to build a 12' x 20' layout . we do live close to you and wondering if you would ever be available for personal help. i also use Atlas track, switches.
Hello Jason great update video Love it Im still in the planning stages of my new N scale Amtrak layout I want to do something either rural desert type or try to model the Amtrak depot in Springfield Mass. love those atlas truss bridges my layout will have two decks and my good friend Gordon Bliss owner operator of the N scale all aboard Santa Fe model railroad will be assisting me with my layout rebuild next year Thanks for sharing your joy of model railroading with us GOD BLESS JASON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAPPY THANKSGIVING STAY SAFE MY FRIEND SORRY FOR THE CAPS ;-)HUGS FOR SHELBY

Awesome progress!!! One of the things I'm struggling with is extra wide tunnel portals. I didn't think when I was designing things to account for curves going into the tunnel. Looking forward to watching the progress of your new layout as I did with your old layout!!!
Your benchwork is FINE! It's about how I did mine.......mine may be even heavier! Someone said it looked like I was building a house!! But I can walk and climb w/o issue!!! To late now......but next layout.....2 words....Gargraves and Ross.....USA made and almost always available! (BTW I have some Atlas track on my layout and it mixes with GG fine!)Thanks!!!
Roundhouse South in Port Orange Fl has Atlas section track and switches. I just bought some for my bump and go trolley but I don't like Atlas track because of the track joiners. My MTH drawbar engines are a pain but I found that putting a small wire tie around where the drawbar connects to engine solves issues. Of course the engine and tender are more of less linked so handling them as a single unit is difficult but possible.
It looks brilliant, I'm looking forwards to it being 'finished', well as finished as any layout gets. About that big girder bridge side, it might be a trick of the camera but to me it looks only barely long enough to cross the 3 tracks at that angle, it might be better to cut 2 slots in the deck and recess the ends into them. Sorry if I have overstepped....
I'll do a little adjusting. But they can't be moved too much. I need a certain length of straight track leading to the bridges so that the big steamers can get through.
Looking goog Jason. Btw Give Nicholas smith in broomall, pa and Just trains in Delaware a call for some atlas track. They may have some especially NS. GOOD LUCK

I couldn’t help but notice that the inside loop on the left has a one way in but no way to exit, unless you want to back your train out to the way it came in. I think another switch might be needed.
I won't be moving trains in and out a whole lot. But the upper loop is a reverse loop so I can move trains through that switch in any direction I desire.
You make people want to get involved with this hobby
Thanks! That's the ultimate goal.
I really like these posts because its cool to see a layout progressing and coming together as opposed to one that is finished.
