GW4C renewed is ~$100 on Amazon (been going up this week, was at $97). GW6C is $400. I think this would be a much more interesting video comparison. I guess you could argue that not all renewed watches are truly excellent condition and may require a return within 90 day guarantee, but at one quarter the price isn't that still worth it? True the GW4 wont be updated as long, but when it does stop getting updates a GW6 will likely be looking at 1/4 price. So $100 today for GW4, $100 in 2 years for renewed GW6. $50/year to have the latest GW updates by going the renewed route.
Yeah I’m in Australia and just bought the black 4 for $250 the 6 looks amazing but it’s going to cost a fortune here. Somewhere around the $850 or more mark for sure.
I like that they brought back the rotating bezel this year. Having it on my watch 4 classic improves the experience greatly. The slimmer bezel on the 6 does make it look a lot less classy then the 4 though, imo.
Hands down, The thicker the Bezel, The Classic it actually is. I think the upgrades are nice for those that have an s3 and below but the brighter display thinner bezels and upgrade in batter and chip will be more efficient. They brought the device back since it wasnt there in the series 5 devices. I actually prefer it over my watch 5 pro which i traded in and ended up getting the 47mm version for 100 bucks so not too terrible. I dont think much in the design is going to change its more about hardware and software improvements. People dont have to upgrade every year but there is a market for new buyers that dont currently have one. I donthink watches should be 2 year updates instead of annual.

I am a big fan of the bezel, but I traded in my Watch3 for the Watch5 Pro just last month because of the great deal I got. Although I miss the bezel, I love how premium to Watch5 Pro looks and the battery life is incredible. I don't have buyers remorse after seeing the Watch6 Classic. Samsung should have kept the battery life the same, and kept the titanium to keep the weight down.
I wanted try Samsung watch and liked look of 4 classic with bezel. I thought that 5 pro is bad because of lack of it. Then 6 classic came out I tried it in store on my wrist and compare to 5 pro... then I bought 5 pro. I think 5pro looks better, lies better on wrist, its more sporty and robust (I also wanted smartwatch for cycling). 6 classic looks like pan - big and thin. Rotating of the bezel is not so nice, its too quick for me. I like classic diver watches and love that harder, "tougher" move. Don't even say about battery life. Moreover now there are good offers for 5 so I was waiting for 6 classic and consciously bought 5 pro instead.
I got my 5 Pro about the same time and I am trading it in for the 6 Classic for one reason: the plastic on the back. I am among the group of people who have a strong allergic reaction to the plastics Samsung is using on their earbuds and now the Watch 5 Pro. The 6 classic appears to have gone back to the metal back that the 4 Classic had. I'm losing some money with the trade-in, but a watch I can't wear isn't doing me any good. So, if you are seeing the skin on your arm start to blister and peel, now you know why. :(
Watch 5 Pro looks less premium than earlier "Classic" models. And the battery life on ALL Samsung (and most others) watches kinda suck... Just 2-3 days. If it lasts over a week then it would start to get better
Part of the problem you talked about being weird running around with a classic-looking watch is because of the color, the silver draws a lot of attention (the good and bad way)
So here is how i am interpreting this video. As long as your current 4 is in good condition, you don't have any good reason to upgrade. If you have money to burn, all good, but it probably wont feel like much of an upgrade. No more software updates for the 4 but the experience on the 6 is about the same and probably won't be that different going forward. As long as the 4 continues working, it feels up to date enough. Screen/body/bezel is updated but are not night and day differences. Battery: as long as the 4 continues to get a days worth of battery, no need to mind the details, the 6 does better but not by that much.
...and also because the GW6 was recently born.. wait just some apps to run in background draning the system resources... We'll talk to you again in a few months ! if you choose Samsung it is certainly not for the battery life, you might as well not even evaluate this aspect.
To be honest, if I would upgrade from my 4 classic to the 6 classic is because of it's newer and slimmer bezels. The spec bump is not that big of a gap. I would just get it for the looks, since the classics are mostly for fashion instead of health/sport tracking.
I agree with you. When I go out I use the watch 4 classic with a black metal strap. When I want longer battery life or doing sport activities I use the watch 5 pro
I actually just had my GW5 quit on me recently and my local best buy had both the GW6C and the GW4C. I went with the 4 to save money and it still feels like an upgrade because now i have the rotating bezel.
The Samsung 4-Classic is now 1/4th the price to buy refurbished in excellent condition and its trade-in value is now moot. It's a no-brainer to me which I should buy as the only key difference is a slight durability and looks issue and a slight percent increase in battery life. For 70 bucks, a GW4 classic is a good pick-me-up.
Bought a Watch4 Classic from Amazon Renewed. Was in brand new condition with no issues...for only $89.00 on sale. Cant beat that. Only things i wish the 4 had that the 6 does is the slightly larger display and Samsung Wallet. Currently watch4 only has Samsung Pay, so it doesn't have the ability or have memberships and tickets on it like the 6 does wothout a third party app.
Galaxy watch 4/5/6 regular 44mm have more futuristic modern design especially silver. I have Watch 4 44mm silver paired with milanese loop and I am very pleased. I wanted a GW 6 47mm essentially the biggest classic without the bezel because I don't want flushed screen. Anyway both are beautiful.
Great review, I've ordered the 6 classic, it will be my first smart watch, I nearly went for the 5 pro, but the lack of roataing bezel put me off, glad they brought it back, I ordered the 1 TB tab S9 ultra at the same time, and got a £600 discount
I did the upgrade with the reservations, because of incentives and other, BUT REALLY REALLY: I knowingly wasted $200. It is just a minor upgrade between 4 and 6 classics. No one should spend $200 to have thinner bezzle and slightly better glass.
5:23 @MikeOBrienMedia On my GW4, there's a setting in gps activities that says workout start. When you tap on workout start you can choose between manual and countdown. Manual lets the watch find gps first, then lets you know when it has secured gps. Countdown like normal, starts the workout right away. I have the watch one ui 5 beta.
Watch 6 Classic looks amazing, I ordered the 47mm LTE to go along with my new Fold 5 😊😊 I will use my Classic Watch 4 for work and my 6 for play! The icing on the cake is I only paid $240 when ordering along with Z Fold 5!
I will upgrade from my watch 4 classic, the battery has been really bad. I always have to charge it at night. It barley lasts a day. So im very exited for my 6 classic to arrive. I love the thinner bezals and new watch bands!
Just ordered the watch 6 classic 47mm and traded in my watch 4 classic for £115 off. I also got another £40 off from Samsung for being a key worker, so I got the new watch £245 so I can't complain!
In Korea, parking spots are pretty small compare to ones in America since its size haven't changed for decades while modern cars are getting bigger and bigger. So when you open the door after parking the car, there's high chance that door will smack the next parked car. That's why blue sponges exists, I even buy different sponges not to dent the other cars.
I bought this watch thanks to your video. I'm coming from the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It is a major upgrade even though the display has only gone up by 1mm in size. They've nailed with the whole lot. Even the Watch band. It's a lot softer than on the 4.
Appreciate this video, man! I went ahead and ordered the GW6C and trading in my GW4C. Thanks for the clear-up on the whole GPS thing. I thought it meant with no GPS, there was ZERO GPS capabilities, and I thought, well that's just weird!? I don't run outside though, but if I ever do, good to know that this feature is there, haha. Mostly upgrading for the faster charging and the flatter look. Plus, as you've mentioned the GW4C will lose out on updates soon, and if Samsung is continuing this trend of every other year updates to their classic and pro lines, upgrading every two years doesn't seem like a bad idea. Aloha 🤙🏻
About the watch 4...... I have a few doubts. 1. Can I connect the watch to a Samsung tablet? 2. In the Bluetooth version, can I use the browser only by connecting to a wifi and not to the phone?
i bought the galaxy watch 4 classic brand new on ebay the other day for $100. went on samsung yesterday to purchase the s24 ultra and saw there were some really good watch deals. i ended up trading in the watch 4 classic and getting $200 for it towards the watch 6 classic. with the other promotions and discounts i ended up paying $120 for the watch 6 classic in 47mm. so excited to get it. thats why i love samsung. they always have such amazing deals for upgrading and if you talk to someone in chat they will usually offer you even more discounts and promotions if you ask for them. thanks for the great video. glad i upgraded.

Both the microphone and speaker are significantly better on the 6 as well. The 4's speaker was so quiet and the microphone sounded like it was in a tunnel at best or underwater at worst The 6 improved beyond my expectations in this field
i kept thinking the watch 6 was the white one but was frustrated to see the size of the black watch was being bigger.. until 7:00 it came clear which one was which one.
I really hate this approach that Samsung is taking for selling new hardware: "Our old hardware, which is basically similar, will not get software updates anymore". Not cool, I find it really hard to buy into planned obsolescence. Frankly it pushes me away from all of these products. I am totally fine of the products not being good enough for modern use, but not this way when they are good enough in hardware, but new gen is pushed on without any justification based on its actual better performance.
Great review, Mike. Galaxy Watch 6 Classic it is (when I get around to it). Although that Watch 4 at half price is still very appealing. Also, it's inspiring to see you staying so fit. I gotta get back to it. Cheers.
I have the watch 4 classic. The battery lasts 6-8 hours with most sensors off. Maybe I got a dud. I'm thinking of upgrading to the 6 only for the battery but the trade in is $110 ($10 normally) when I bought the watch for close to $600. And watch 6 classic costs $550+tax. So I'm still on the fence. Maybe I'll pass. Thank you for the comparison, I'm so glad you did this.

Great comparison. Been waiting for a side-by-side.. Can you tell the weight difference between the 2? The Watch 5 Classic is supposed to be about 25% heavier, but I do not know how much you would be able to tell a half ounce difference.. I bought pre-ordered a 6 Classic 47mm and a 6 regular 44mm... I could not decide between the two and no direct comparisons, so I will keep the one i like and sell or gift the other..
Watch 5 Pro vs 6 Classic is actually a good one because the Watch 5 has stuff the 6 doesn't, like a longer battery and GPS tracking but the 6 Classic has a bigger screen and looks cooler in my opinion
Hah! Still both watches have the deep sleep issue where it says you haven't really had close to none deep sleep. Had this with my Watch 3 and yet it still remains.
I own the Watch 4 Classic and have been 'should I upgrade or not' since its announcement. This video has actually made up my mind, YES I'm going to upgrade.
Was the GW4 you tested new. An older battery inherently won't l ast as long as a new one. Just curious. GW6 sure looks nice. Thinking seriously about it.
Any chance you can do the same comparison for the Watch6 Classic VS Watch5 Pro? Trying to make an informed decision on which one to purchase as I feel well overdue for an upgrade coming from the Active2. Just heard great things about both and because they're similar price, what would be a better buy considering I want one for both everyday and active use. Cheers

Ah, that sucks! I've been wearing the 5 pro even when I sleep, so no allergy here.@@jaturnley
Which color did you get? I got the grey because my Watch3 was black. The brushed aluminum looks so much better than the Watch6 shiny silver.@@vint0rez
Watch 5 Pro looks less premium than earlier "Classic" models. And the battery life on ALL Samsung (and most others) watches kinda suck... Just 2-3 days.
If it lasts over a week then it would start to get better
Part of the problem you talked about being weird running around with a classic-looking watch is because of the color, the silver draws a lot of attention (the good and bad way)
I bought the GW4 Classic in 2022 and have no regrets. The design is cool, the functionality suits me. I see no reason to change.
Battery drain is nearly 30% slower on the watch 6 vs the 4? Plus larger screen plus brighter? That's all I needed to know to decide to upgrade.
That's because the battery in the 4 is years older
...and also because the GW6 was recently born.. wait just some apps to run in background draning the system resources...
I just got a Galaxy Watch4 Classic! It's my first smart watch 😁 Got it brand new and sealed for half price.
My watch 4 classic now actually last for 2 days. Which is crazy because it used to be at 30% at night. Now it's at 70%
From updates?
@@GK-qc5ryupdates and it also learns your usage patterns
How?
Lies 😂
Bezel is back baby!!!! I just ordered the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Also got a good credit for my Galaxy Watch 4 trade in.
Hows the 6 doing? Its 3x more expensive than the 4 and im only after texting so im not sure if its worth it.
I did the upgrade with the reservations, because of incentives and other, BUT REALLY REALLY: I knowingly wasted $200. It is just a minor upgrade between 4 and 6 classics. No one should spend $200 to have thinner bezzle and slightly better glass.
Thank you. You saved me 200quid
It feels too similar really. The battery life isn't much of a gap for 2 years. The health tracking isn't miles different.
Congratulations 🤩
425mah battery scam. Hahahahags
@johnm7882 just curious as to why watch4 for work? I think watch6 would look more appealing. 🤔
@@johnm7882 thanks
@kasshyapp4458 I work maintenance in a high end building in Manhattan, I don't want to beat up the new watch lol
I will upgrade from my watch 4 classic, the battery has been really bad. I always have to charge it at night. It barley lasts a day. So im very exited for my 6 classic to arrive. I love the thinner bezals and new watch bands!
Making the bands compatible is 110% IQ move
Just order a GW4 Classic. Upgrading from the OG Galaxy Watch! Thanks for the video comparison!
What camera did you use to record this footage? The quality is amazing 👌🏼
I'm guessing the blue sponges helps protect the door (and neighbouring cars) when opening the door in tight parking spaces
Just got the Watch 4 Classic for a 1/3 of the Watch 6 Classic’s price. I hope I don’t regret it. 😂
Just ordered the watch 6 classic 47mm and traded in my watch 4 classic for £115 off. I also got another £40 off from Samsung for being a key worker, so I got the new watch £245 so I can't complain!
I have the 4 classic and I love it. I will for sure update it for the 6 classic but probably next year when the price drops
Aloha 🤙🏻
Every 3 years sounds better to the wallet
I just bought a watch 4 classic. I have been rocking the original galaxy watch lmao. It would give me almost 3 days battery! I'm worried it's going to be worse 😅but my watch was already very haggered and started randomly restarting 😢
Good video! Was trying to decide if I should upgrade from the 4 Classic. With the trade in value and affiliate discount, $150 for the 6 Classic, I just couldn't pass up.
What affiliate discount. With trade in I can get it down to 200+tax
@@Daviono Search Tim Schofield and the link is in his Watch 6 Classic video.
$50 off. If the discount doesn't apply, just ask Samsung Live chat and they will apply it.
Both the microphone and speaker are significantly better on the 6 as well. The 4's speaker was so quiet and the microphone sounded like it was in a tunnel at best or underwater at worst
The 6 improved beyond my expectations in this field
I loved that this video was also like a Korea vlog instead of just a review, thanks!! ❤️
Your not crazy real tech fans know you love what you do.
I like the vlog style of this video. Well done.
is it have heart rate on display face ( real time) same Fitbit and Garmin or i need to open app to see my heart rate ???
i kept thinking the watch 6 was the white one but was frustrated to see the size of the black watch was being bigger.. until 7:00 it came clear which one was which one.
Exactly the comparison I needed. Many thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank uuuu for this video. Rocking my 4 classic since day one.
How are people's watch 4 classic batteries lasting so long? Even without sleep tracking, my watch is dead by early the next day, its so frustrating.
Finally! The comparison I was actually waiting for, it's like you read my mind! 😂
I've got the 4 classic and 5 pro. There is far less glare on the 4 classic with gorilla glass, and the image looks more bright and crisp.
I get 3 days out of my Galaxy classic 4. That's pretty damn good.
Pls can you compare the watch 5 pro with the 6 classic 47 mm
A camera on these watches would've been a nice addition
Just ordered a 4Classic for €128. A steal imo
Your vid is a bit confusing. I dont know which one is 4 and which one 6. You should put a screen text everytime you show the watches
Great review, Mike. Galaxy Watch 6 Classic it is (when I get around to it).
Although that Watch 4 at half price is still very appealing.
Also, it's inspiring to see you staying so fit. I gotta get back to it. Cheers.
How maby years of updates does the watch 4 classic have left?
I got the 47mm Classic on pre-order in black, can't wait! 😀
how much battery life did you end up with? that's the most important specs in here
Got the watch 6 classic 47mm for $90 after the trade in and discounts.
The watch 6 classic looks beautiful. Also I really like the style of this video !
Whoa! Thats not true bro. I pre ordered mine with trade in from GW4 classic of $200 its only $300
@@soulassassin4847 maybe where you live. But not where I live. I live in Canada and Samsung always does garage promotions. Plus the currency exchange is horrible compared to USD. I assume you're in USA based on the numbers you posted.
4:35 why do you show black watch 6 classsic vs silver watch 4 classic one time and silver watch 6 classic another time? the bystander is confused
Despite your best efforts to sell me on the 6 you actually persuaded me more towards the 4 😂
Great comparison.
I'll wait for the 7
Is a Brand new 4 classic good for 80 out the door?
Best video. Thanks. How's Samsung Watch 6 44 Bluetooth as compared to previous two 4 and 5?
5.3! Pretty nice to have the latest, although subtle
You forgot to mention some very important extras from Watch 6 like ECG, blood pressure and skin temperature sensor.
The 4 classic has blood pressure and ecg.
@@stephaniebouwheer you're right!
@mike Any improvement in haptics over watch 5 pro?
Thanks for this great video! For me, with my trade in, the 6 Classic was less than the 4 classic. I ordered the 6 Classic! Thanks again.
Cheers
Just bought a watch 4 last week and so far so good im lovin'it
Hope mine will also good ordered and deliver by Octobed 13 ❤
Just today, 11/21/23, I decided to trade-in my galaxy watch 4 44mm. For the galaxy watch 6 classic, and I only paid $150 bucks! The galaxy watch 6 classic looks amazing, and the weight makes it feel premium!👍🏾
The worry i have is that I have the Galaxy Watch 4 but it has caused a rash on my wrist and dont know if it's the strap or the watch itself :(
2:04 did I just see modes and routines in galaxy watch? Is it coming in new oneui version?
Me : "Bixby why are there sponges on these car doors in south Korea?"
Bixby: "Asian drivers"
Me: "makes sense"
Keeping my 4 until it's unuseable 🤣
