You’re right, most people don’t seem to visit Valladolid on their way to the ruins… when I was in Cancun years ago with my family, we did the packaged day trip to Chichén Itzá…with a very brief stop at Valladolid…after watching your videos, it definitely looks like Valladolid is worth a longer visit…hope you are enjoying Mexico 🇲🇽
As I've come to expect the senorita Alina finds the interesting and unique where ever she wanders. Best of all she shares these with her viewers. Another gem that I've never heard of but definitely looks worth the effort to explore.
Glad to know that Yucutan Peninsula has towns that colorful, vibrant, and offer more than beaches and all-inclusive resorts. After watching this, I'm definitely convinced that I will enjoy visiting Mexico 🇲🇽 Excellent work 👏
Magnificent choice, in general the State of Yucatan has great diversity to offer, if you want to live in my country without a doubt I would recommend the Merida capital of the aforementioned State.
This town looks great when you are visiting Chichen Itzá , Can Cun or Isla Mujeres for no more than 2 or 3 days. If you visit the Yucatán Peninsula the best plan is to be near the ocean and enjoy swimming, taking the sun or walking along these superb beaches. I always have been curious about Merida. This city looks like a history gem full of colonial and republican palaces. Also there are many small towns with georgeous beaches near Merida. Maybe you can visit that area. This city is full of Cubans, Afroamericans from USA and also Canadian expats who enjoy a more relaxed way of live full of local Caribbean culture. Alina is having a great time in Latin America.
I did a road trip through the Yucatan last month and spent a few days in Valladolid. Without a doubt it was my favorite city and I love this city. I stayed at the Meson Del Marques and had breakfast every morning at the table in your video! the service was excellent and the accommodations were wonderful (at a price I felt was very reasonable). I can't wait to go back and spend more time in this city, with lots to do and everyone we met was so very wonderful!
I stopped in Valladolid in January, 1986(!), on my way from Palenque to Cancun. There was a nice restaurant on the main plaza, and they had something called “cochinita pibil” on the menu, so on a whim I tried it. It was amazing, and after preparing the meal myself countless times I’ve introduced a Yucatan food to many people. Thanks Valladolid!
$40 for a room at Candelaria makes me feel really old. I stayed on the square at the Maria de la Luz in 1985 for $6. That was back in the day when entry fees to the ruins were a pittance, and free on Sundays. Cenotes were all free. I still visit Merida and Izamal, and love it, but also glad I was fortunate enough to visit years ago.
Hello Alina! Hola! 😄🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a super wonderful day! This is really a beautiful magnificent excellent video! 😁👍❤️👏🇲🇽📹🥇💯💫✨🌟 The city of Valladolid looks so marvelous! The architecture of the buildings is fantastic! Also the food in the restaurants look so delicious! The Cenote looks so amazing! It’s really cool! I would definitely like to visit the city of Valladolid one day. It is really a wonderful city! Thank you so much Alina to share with us this super magnificent video. You are the best and greatest world traveler adventurer! 😃👍👏✈️🌎🧳🗺🥇🏆💯✨🌟 I wish you Alina a wonderful beautiful marvelous blessed day. Take care and be safe Alina. Have a excellent time in Mexico! 😊🙏❤️👋🇲🇽👍✨🌟
Another eye opener from you, Alina! I have never been there, but the more you share of Mexico, it would be very easy to plan it and enjoy Mexico seeing the things you have shared there. I am a fan of Mexican food, so that part would be a must to share with Alona. She keeps asking me to share what it taste like, but like we all know, it is very hard to describe it but it will end up being one of your favorites if you watch the spices. Stay safe, looking forward to seeing more from you on this trip. Loved the music you chose for this video! Cheers to our special friend, from Michael & Alona! 💖👍😃
I´ve been there just for a couple of hours. I just had a coffee at one of that places by the main square. It´s worthy to spend some time on the city. Like most of the people, I was towards Playa del Carmen coming back from Chichen Itza.
Merida, Chichen Itza, and Valladolid are all on my list. It would be during the cooler months, though. It seems a bit hot in the summer. But I definitely won't skip Valladoild.
You're very right about Valladolid, very underrated. Harriet and I had a most enjoyable time. Very Safe Less crowded than the resorts. It has an Old Town charm. Harriet and I can tell you enjoyed your time there. Thank you for taking us there. Sending you lots of love💖💖 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond. Va.
Hi Alina! I drove by Valladolid and wasn't able to make the stop. I regret not going! Looks like a very nice and alive. I'll have to go back some time. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Alina! I very much enjoyed your vibrant and colorful visit to Valladolid in the Yucatan! There's a lot to see and do here, without excessive cost. Good to see you safe and having fun!
I was here a few days ago, after seeing Chichenitza. We didn’t have time to explore, but it felt like an amazing city, and I was happy to see more of it on your lovely video tour❤️👍🙏
Hi Alina. thank you for sharing this beautiful place. some day we could place it to our itinerary, Valladolid Mexico, I am sure more tourist will visit this as you shown in your video... enjoy more and keep safe .. bye
I'm going to be staying in Valladolid for a couple months (hopefully) in the new year! I'm super excited watching this video. Thanks for showing me where some good spots are to visit!
Fantastic video! The Calzada de Frailes reminds one of old town Bogota, Colombia and you can swear you’re having an out of body experience in Mexico thinking you’re back in Colombia! Valladolid in the Yucatán is an experience worth checking out.
I went to Valladolid in January for three days and it's definitely worth stating there instead of taking a bus or tour for the day. I found that three days wasn't enough to see all the cenotes there!
Hi Alina, I think I was in Valladolid, but as You mentioned only on Tour to Chichen Itza. I am curious about Your impressions on Chichen Itza. My visit there was on a 21st of March and it was very impressive at sunset. The choice was spending the sunset in Chichen Itza or in Valladolid. At this special date of the Year, the choice was Chichen Itza. Best Regards, Ralf
Mexico is SPECTACULAR. Loved every minute there. Thank you for reminding me how beautiful Valladolid is. The Mayan ruins are incredible. Watermelon 🍉 is my favorite fruit. = ) ☀️
Have been missing your videos as of late but just happened to see this one and have to say all videos I have seen I have enjoyed. Another thing I have began noticing is how many of my subscriptions are Canadian RUclipsrs or ones that were from Canada. Keep up the good work!
Just wonderful! A huge country to discover and thanks to your videos we can have this opportunity. I have never been to Mexico but each corner of this country is so nice, full of history, culture, beautiful sceneries, good food, sunny weather and a friendly people. What more do you want? Thank you for sharing this awesome video with us.
In the fairly near future we are planning a trip to Cancun. Now we definitely want to add this location to our trip. Honestly I had never heard of it before so thanks for the heads up and please stay safe and well out there.
Never been but the whole world is so much greater then any us of can imagine . Thanks so much for sharing ! Wow . This I want to visit. Sending from Canada.
I really like your videos and of course Merida has many places to visit for tourists and they are so beautiful, I hope you come back soon, you are such a lovely and beautiful person I would like to travel to Canada and help me to know all the beautiful places there . have a great trip.
Valladolid was the "sleepy little secret" on the way to Chichen Itza, but once they deemed it a "pueblo mágico" the place got a facelift! Nice look at the Calzada de los Frailes and the hotels, thank you!
Wow Glad that bike ride was safe!! Having just returned from Colombia myself after six months there, and seeing your video in Santa Marta , when I saw you on the bike I was like "NOOOOO" 😳....but Colombia is definitely a different world than Mexico. Cheers desde isla Vancouver
I'm going straight from the airport to Vallaloid spending 3 days there, Chichen itza is a must, going to Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel.. You went Solo? And when? hoping cenote Zaci is open.
I have only been to 4 Mexican Cities of Cabo San Lucas Acapulco Huatulco and Puerto Vallarta! Mainly cruise ports from a few cruises I have done that have stopped there! My favourites were Cabo and Huatulco! Stayed at a all inclusive in PV once but that’s pretty much it for Mexico for me! Great video! Love following along on your adventures!
I’ve been lucky enough to have visited Cancun several times, but never Valladolid. I’ll put in my bucket list. The burrito looked delicious, the cenote amazing! Definitely want to go. Gracias Alina!
I visited Valladolid for 3,days in November 2019 & like you I taught it was a charming town. I visited Chichén Itza while on that trip to mexico 🇲🇽 & loved it 🤩 brw did you see the history of Valladolid in the light show at the Convento de San Bernardino de Siena?
I enjoy your videos so much You are a great logger Hope you make CDMX your home base if come back before you decide it's time to go to Europe and Asia Keep enjoying the Aztec nation
Me gustan tus videos. Disfruta México.
Don't miss cenote ik-kil, near chicken itza. Also, try to see the laser light show at night in chichen-itza. I hear it's spectacular. Afetrwards i would go to Playa del Carmen and check out Xcaret park....so much to experience!
I have always wanted to go to Valladolid. It looks amazing! And the cenotes! I know it’s a long shot but if you ever have a lay over in DFW with all the traveling you do, please let me know. I’d love to meet.
Finally! A solo traveller to this part of mexico! This is such a helpful video as. I am going to travel soon solo! Wondering where did you put your belongings when you visited the cenote? Thank u much!!
Wow, spooky. I just subscribed and now you've coincidentally uploaded about Valladolid. I just recently became aware of it and I'm keen to check it out as a potential winter retirement spot (fellow Canadian here).
Very appealing in many ways except for the lack of shade on the streets and the bike paths; given the high heat there, I think I would find that difficult as I am a big walker and also travel with a small dog. Some places like CDMX, Lake Chapala area, Vallarta and so on have lots of trees which make a big difference when one is out and about.
