This guy did an incredible job with the band. He brought his own style immediately into the song providing the foundation, tempo and pulse it required. He drove the melody and harmony hard and kept all cohesive and provided great dynamics and patterns throughout. Helluva a job.
The great thing about Dave is he lets talent share the spotlight and is really pleased when they do great. If this guy is trying out for a band all he has to do is pull out his phone and show them this.
Exceptionally tasteful drummer. Started off a little loud for Dave's liking, and brought it down to Dave could talk before Dave even finished saying the words. Didn't overplay except when told to. Picked up on ad-libs from Dave very well, even played the crowd sing-a-long part perfectly, without drowning them out.
In my opinion, Dave is one of the best frontmen of all time. He's a amazing drummer as well. I love his work in music, no matter what it is with, drums, guitar, vox. I love it all from Dave.
We will always miss Taylor and always love him. That dude's smile could change your whole week. Josh, the new drummer is welcomed with open arms. He's a Foo now. Just like pat and Chris and Nate and Dave. He's also a badass drummer. Just appreciate the time Taylor was here and keep nothing but good memories. Love you Taylor. Thanks brother.
I've been playing the drums for 60 years. Studio musician for the last 40 years and toured as needed. I've seen them come and go and in my humble opinion there is no way to pick a best drummer. There're so many great drummers. To many styles, genres, etc. A top 500 drummers maybe no number one or no last just great.
I keep coming back listening to this video again and again. To me it's even better then "kiss guy". Kiss guy has been a professional musician for years, this guy obviously hasn't. And to me he seems to humble yet he's a crazy good drummer, knowing "all the songs".
My god! This gave me the biggest goosebumps! That dude absolutely nailed the shit out of that performance. What an astronomical level of a night that guy will never ever forget. Kudos mate!
Since Shane and Nandi are too young to drum full time Josh is going to have to hold down the fort for a while. We all have to give him time to get comfortable with the Foos I'm happy they didn't break up the band.
I saw ff a few weeks ago in Charlotte, NC, Freese seems to be fitting in well, crowd was EXTREMELY supportive which was very cool. A tribute to the late great Steve Albini was also a great highlight of the night
ABsoLutely The Coolest thing have Ever seen in a concert - for a "random guy" from the audience to step in & Play from the 1st stroke AMAZINGLY Well, Especially given the conditions- probably the Largest audience he's Ever played in front of - I Highly Commend "Richard from Manchester"!! BEST Concert surprise Ever!! Btw- Neil Peart & Carter Beauford- 2 Best drummers have Ever Seen!! Was Devastated when heard of the Tragic news about Neil- there'll Never B Another like him... RIP NP
I've heard drummers say playing with Grohl is realitively 'easy' because he is a drummer and therefore he's always in beat and your not having to chase him or slow him down. Makes sense to me.
This footage brought me to your channel "Subscribed". I think we all miss Taylor not just the drummer but the amazing humble human being that he was. This guy from the audience was awesome "nerves of steel"... Just imagine however good a drummer you are actually getting on stage cold and playing with the Foo Fighters 😂😂😂 As for the best of the best I go with Neil Peart as my number one followed by Bonham, Moon, Copeland. I maybe being biased as I'm a huge RUSH fan, but Neil was an innovator and a complete perfectionist and will inspire many in the future
Foo Fighters for life. Saw them live 2 weeks ago. Amazing Josh is amazing and so technically sound. If you are a drummer you can hear the difference in the feel . Taylor will never be out of our hearts. And Dave Grohl is the best drummer in the world. Love to TAYLOR.
Josh is a beast, but it’s a different feel. It’s a more driving sound while Taylor’s timing seemed to fit the songs perfectly. Yeah, DG is one of the most influential drummers in existence. That kid nailed it.
Dave isnt just one of the best drummers of alltime but one of the best musicians of alltime. For me though the best drummer ever is and always will be Ringo.
My favorite foo song !!!!! ❤. Foo fighters fan for sure…..😊I think he’s currently 1 of the best drummers 🥁… but DAVES just good people since wayyy back😊
Have to mention dave Lombardo when it comes to top drummers. That guy did good in this video. Not everyone can perform in front of large crowds. You get nervous 🤣
Where does Dave find all these fill-in audience musicians? KISS Kid guitarist…and now this drummer - plucked from the audience... From my standpoint, I can think of at least 10 rock drummers that are more iconic than Dave Grohl, but everyone has to admit, he’s made a ton of impressive and beautiful music over the years…
Neal Peart was the best. Taylor was second. Taylor had a relaxed almost rhythm and blues style. Josh is definitely energetic punk and brings a whole new vibe to the group
6:15 drum kit sounds really good......was thinking the same exact thing and I play guitar and keys! This guy killed it! It sounded like Dave was channeling his inner Tom Petty
It's the moment. He nailed it. Your commentary kinda killed the vibe. What Richard from Manchester did was bigger than you or your channel. I think we all know it now......Unsubbed with your snub.
When it comes to best drummers I have to have different categories. Like I wouldn't compare Dave Grohl with like Bill Stevenson. Or Peart with Bonham. I don't think Grohl is one of the best drummers. He kicks ass but he doesn't really have too much of his own style. Like when you hear Bonham you know it's fucking Bonham. DG was hands down the best Nirvana had.
Keeping tempo and composure without an earpiece and with astronomical levels of adrenaline in your system like this is beyond me, what a legend.
I never thought about him not having an earpiece. Makes it even more incredible...
@@Rayza-73 I did, but also wondered about the seemingly quite personal layout players pick.
He already did. :D Dead Air is the name of his band.

Thats maybe the coolest thing you can show to your friends and family 🤘🏼
This drummer is going to make it. He's rocking it he's tight. Have a big smile watching this video.
Fun fact: Dave says when he sings this in Germany, it’s their favorite song . The audience signs back with a German accent. He loves it .
I was genuinely surprised this guy wasn't their new drummer, he slotted right in

This guy crushed it! Lots of great drummers and Dave is up there. I love Carter Beauford from DMB!
Lets not forget the camera guy too, that was a nice steady phone video.
Pretty freaking awesome! I love that he lets people shine!
My god! This gave me the biggest goosebumps! That dude absolutely nailed the shit out of that performance. What an astronomical level of a night that guy will never ever forget. Kudos mate!

A tribute to the late great Steve Albini was also a great highlight of the night
Another really awesome reason why I've been a huge Foo Fighters fan for years, is because my cousins husband is their fulltime tour bus driver.
Man i just found this channel and i play drums so only and lonly me for 19 years! Drum is so heart rithymc! I love you (Greeting'sa from Hungary!) 🥰
Absolutly fantastic for a guy coming outta the crowd
I've heard drummers say playing with Grohl is realitively 'easy' because he is a drummer and therefore he's always in beat and your not having to chase him or slow him down. Makes sense to me.
Absolutely love the foo fighters. Dave Grohl is a great singer and musician with a heart of gold. He made this guys day. I was here at this Concert
This footage brought me to your channel "Subscribed".

Loving it!!!😝
Keep it coming!!!
He should've been there new drummer after Taylor passed, he would have been a great addition to the band.
The work DG did on QOTSA Rated R was unreal.
Foo Fighters for life. Saw them live 2 weeks ago. Amazing Josh is amazing and so technically sound. If you are a drummer you can hear the difference in the feel . Taylor will never be out of our hearts. And Dave Grohl is the best drummer in the world. Love to TAYLOR.
best drummer of all time- Animal.
Amazing. Just amazing.
Josh is a beast, but it’s a different feel. It’s a more driving sound while Taylor’s timing seemed to fit the songs perfectly.
Yeah, DG is one of the most influential drummers in existence.
That kid nailed it.
THE LEGEND
Just bloody Awesome
Best drummer? Neil Pert, Greg Bissonette, Buddy Rich, Steve Gadd, Rick Moratta. Grohl is a good drummer and great frontman.
He KILLED it
Dave is one of the best songwriters, and performers of all time. He’s a solid drummer
I love the foo fighters !!
For the 90's era, for sure.
Best thing about Dave Grohl, he knows a star!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Neil “The Professor” Peart
Cozy Powell was the best drummer that I’ve seen, it was very memorable. Thats my personal opinion on drummers I’ve watched live.
Ive seen this clip ! Totally cool ! Guy owned ! On the Spot ! Great job ! Love them foo fighters ! LFG ! Dave Grohls awesome as well on the drums !

Liberty Diivito was/is a fucking awesome drummer
I kow this guy. He is a amaising English Guy.
Best drummer that you forgot to mention, Phil Collins!
Dave isnt just one of the best drummers of alltime but one of the best musicians of alltime. For me though the best drummer ever is and always will be Ringo.
reaction: yeah... nice... yeah... let me know your thoughts on this.
Best drummer of all time John Bonham
My favorite foo song !!!!! ❤. Foo fighters fan for sure…..😊I think he’s currently 1 of the best drummers 🥁… but DAVES just good people since wayyy back😊
Danny Carey best of all time imo. Dave is one of my favorites though. He's easily one of the most innovative drummers out there.
If Dave isn't the greatest drummer, he surely is the nicest drummer.
"The Rev" :D
And that was filmed on a cell phone too...
Dave is one of the best people in the industry today,
Top drummers of all time (in no order) Neil peart, Tommy Aldridge, Dave Grohl, Nikko McBrain, John Bonham
Drummer for Babymetal is fucking amazing
Dave should’ve picked him to be the next drummer. Awesome.
Dave is G-d!!!
1. danny carey
2. roger taylor
3. nick mason
4. dave grohl
5. taylor hawkins
Have to mention dave Lombardo when it comes to top drummers. That guy did good in this video. Not everyone can perform in front of large crowds. You get nervous 🤣
He is bad ass bro
I’ll say Dave is definitely one of the best, my own personal opinion, I think the Rev was the best
I think Danny Carey and Jimmy Chamberlain are the best drummers of all time.
Neil Peart is the best of all time.
Solid addition, I won't say replacement because you can't Replace Mr. Hawkins
Dave is on top of the list ! but for me it s The Rev!!!!
Where does Dave find all these fill-in audience musicians? KISS Kid guitarist…and now this drummer - plucked from the audience...
From my standpoint, I can think of at least 10 rock drummers that are more iconic than Dave Grohl, but everyone has to admit, he’s made a ton of impressive and beautiful music over the years…
Joey jordisan for me I loved Dave on drums but never stuck with it
No way u didnt know this video
Love the foos I do think Dave is 1 of the best drummers.
Really like your posts. I thought this guy crushed it...
Neal Peart was the best. Taylor was second. Taylor had a relaxed almost rhythm and blues style. Josh is definitely energetic punk and brings a whole new vibe to the group
Ringo ….
Hal Blane, Jeff Porcaro & Neil….
the late neil peart aka the professor
I don’t know how he did that without a metronome?!
I hope this guy has things going for him after this. If he is left in the wind then there's a lost talent.
dave is one of the best... taylor is second to none.....
Dennis Chambers
DANNY is absolutely in the top whatever. if not Top 1
it's Elvin Jones obviously!
Anyone knows the drummers name
Richard Greenbury
6:15 drum kit sounds really good......was thinking the same exact thing and I play guitar and keys! This guy killed it! It sounded like Dave was channeling his inner Tom Petty
Neil Peart….the Professor.
Shannon Larkin is the GOAT
Nothing against Dave but i think Taylor Hawkins is a better drummer, Just my take, There are many great drummers out there to pick from as best
John Bonham Bonzo was the greatest drummer of all time
Bonzo
John Henry Bonham
He is not, but he is competent. The best drummer of all time is Neal Pert.
Sorry but when i'm watching "Drummer Reacts To " I'd like to hear YOUR thoughts about the drummer not give you mine!!
It's the moment. He nailed it. Your commentary kinda killed the vibe. What Richard from Manchester did was bigger than you or your channel. I think we all know it now......Unsubbed with your snub.
Who give a f*ck about a reaction. I want the original video and I can't find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No
Not a fan of the new foo fighters drummer. Grohl in my opinion is top 5 rock drummers of the past 30 yrs.
This guy is mediocre at Best. I'd let him fill in at a HS pep band performance without hesitation though.
When it comes to best drummers I have to have different categories. Like I wouldn't compare Dave Grohl with like Bill Stevenson. Or Peart with Bonham. I don't think Grohl is one of the best drummers.
