I’ve seen you try to push for the Lakers getting Vucevic because you’re a bulls fan lol. I’m sorry but getting DFS was a way better option especially at Vuc’s age
I don't disagree that he's a better option, but is that really going to fix the Lakers? Also, DFS is 31, it's not like he's super young with upside
@@And.One.Hoops1Lakers should rather trade for Robert Williams
@@And.One.Hoops1 who cares
@@And.One.Hoops1you honestly think this is the only trade LA will make? They obviously are going to grab another pg and a big. IMO lakers will trade for Malcom Brogdon and Big Val next. Even though I’d rather they trade for Nick Richards from CHA for athleticism and defense
@@And.One.Hoops1 They still have all their draft picks and are under the 2nd apron. Got rid of D Lo without the Lakers tax.
I don’t think this move prevents them from making another move. They still retained all their available first round picks to trade.
Yeah, but you have to match salary in order to do any trade if it includes picks. Who are they going to trade to make that happen?
@@And.One.Hoops1Walker Kessler & Collin Sexton.
What contracts are they sending out to get those guys? The money doesn’t work
@@And.One.Hoops1 Gabe, JHS, Hayes, Wood, Cam. Contracts match.
What team is going to be interested in those contracts? Those are also smaller contracts, that’s not going to net you a star level player on a larger deal
I’m a Nets fan, I’ll miss DFS. Always plays hard.
DFS is one of the most versatile defenders in the league, someone who can literally play 1-5, and is shooting 44% from 3. And he’s doing that without even playing need to any superstars, so there’s potential for him to be even better on the Lakers. And you’re wrong, the Lakers are still capable of making another trade because they have the salaries of Gabe, Vando, and JHS who combine to be about ~$25 mill, which is more than enough to land you a very solid role player. Things are looking goooood for the Lakers if you ask me, especially with Reaves emerging as a great playmaker and Christie as a 3/D guy.
Facts I hope we keep vando tho you can’t never go wrong with having multiple defensive players yeah he stays hurt but dude had 2 years to get healthy and since we got more defensive players it won’t be so much strain on him once he comes back I say if he gets hurt again then ya move on from him in the offseason but we definitely need to keep him for the moment to see where it goes.
DFS sucks now. If you actually watched the Nets day by day, he's been terrible. He's either been sandbagging it deliberately or he's lost 2 steps.
Also Knecht can add some scoring punch off the bench. Those are the kinds of role players you need in the playoffs.
@@jonahfalcon1970I’ve heard plenty of actual Brooklyn nets fans say otherwise 😂 every Brooklyn net fan I’ve heard from says we got a good one in DFS
Thank u bro finally someone who knows ball 🙏
What are you talking about lol, the Lakers gave up one salary (DLo) and still have several more to trade, and kept ALL their 1sts. You're clearly not thinking straight.
You don’t understand how trades work under the CBA, do you? What contracts are they now going to trade to upgrade the roster?
@And.One.Hoops1
They have over 40m worth of salary to trade for, what are you talking about? DLo was merely ONE salary. We still have several we can trade, plus all our 1sts. You basically just suggested we can't make anymore trades which is absolutely ridiculous 😂
Who are they trading that gives them meaningful upgrades to their roster? I’ll wait
@@And.One.Hoops1
Too many to list. With over 40m+ worth of movable salary, they can make a bunch of moves. To suggest this is it because they traded ONE player out of their roster is truly ridiculous. Not sure how you managed to come up with that one.
Too many list huh? Give me one then. What player can they trade for that is an upgrade?
This trade won’t make a difference. It’s just rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. Every year or two we hear about this amazing trade for the Lakers yet their record never seems to change.
Exactly
The only trade I can think of that turned out to be treading water was the Schroder trade. And that was coming off of a championship four years ago.
The other three big trades either got the a championship (Davis), tanked them (Westbrook), or put them back on track (Russell and Vanderbilt plus the Rui deal). So your statement seems invalid.
Lakers fans are acting like they traded for Giannis or jokic🤣
I mean honestly who is the west is guaranteed to win? I don’t think it’s as loaded as you make it seem all the teams are pretty even with okc being a unproven standout
Yeah, but the Lakers aren’t one of those teams, let’s be real
@@And.One.Hoops1The lakers went to the WCF just two years ago and made it to the first round last year with Vando and Wood out the whole round. The lakers are a 5 seed rn even after that bad 10 game stretch recently. You make it seem like the lakers are the jazz or something 😂. We just traded for one of the best 3/D wing role players in the league and still can make other trades for a big.
@@bfns2353 Keep talking about the past like that has any impact in 2025...Typical Lakers fans lmao
Another angle to look at this (I know this isn't quite the subject of the video) is that are teams valuing 2nd round picks more in this CBA? I know the Grizzlies were offering a 1st with lottery protection that got rejected, but I don't know of any other reason why Brooklyn would rather have multiple 2nds over that.
The Nets didn't want to take a bad contract with future cap space. DLo is expiring this year.
Trading DLO doesn’t prevent the lakers from making other moves to upgrade the team…Walker Kessler is still there but the lakers have to be willing to lose a 1st rounder or both…and the Wizards are just begging teams to come get Brogdon and Jonas which would be a cheap move the lakers just have to move Gabe Vincent a throw in salary and potentially another 2nd rounder…there’s other moves to be made
you honestly think this is the only trade LA will make? They obviously are going to grab another pg and a big. IMO lakers will trade for Malcom Brogdon and Big Val next. Even though I’d rather they trade for Nick Richards from CHA for athleticism and defense
How are they going to do that? What contracts are they trading to make the money work?
@ I don’t have the trade finder in front of me so I can’t tell you the specifics now but ik that the lakers have Rui,Vando,Gabe,Hayes,Wood, JHS and first round picks that they can trade for those players I’ve named at least.
@ every smart lakers channel I watch and other smart b ball channels are saying the lakers can make another trade if they want. You’re the only channel I’ve seen say this is the only move the lakers can make. Now I’m not saying you’re lying but you might be misinformed
Again, they can trade for those guys, but who is willing to take on those contracts that can offer the Lakers meaningful upgrades to their roster. Keep in mind, they can’t take back more salary than they send out
@@And.One.Hoops1 if anything they can get Richards from charlotte cause he only makes 5 mill. We can throw in Hayes and jhs for Richards at least. Idk if charlotte would bite, lakers might have to throw another 2nd round pick in if they have any left
Didn’t you say they should trade for vuce which would of required d lo contract as well? You’re literally contradicting yourself by saying it’s a bad move to move off his contract for a better fitting role player 🤷🏽♂️ I guess when it benefits your team it’s not a bad move
Vooch isn’t a role player my guy. The Lakers need more than just a 3 and D role player
@@And.One.Hoops1vuce is definitely a role player that’s why no one has wanted his ass for over a year 😂 and he’s older than dodo and I never said that’s all they needed so idk why you brought that up 🤷🏽♂️ they are definitely better now than they were before and definitely better than trading for vuce who can’t guard shit in the paint which is what they don’t need and why ppl don’t want his old ass 😂
I agree with your take and I’m not even sure Dorian Finney Smith is an upgrade over D-Lo anyway
No one is saying thay DFS is not going to help, he will be indeed, a good piece. They are just not good enough even with this trade, that is what he is saying.
Exactly
Honestly you shouldn’t be talking Lakers in any of your channels. Your Laker hate bias is showing and it’s a joke. You’re only mad cuz the Lakers didn’t try to trade for a washed Vucevic and an Overrated, Overpaid Zach Lavine cuz you’re a Bulls fan.
Nah I’ll keep doing what I want, thanks
@@And.One.Hoops1 For sure then you’ll keep looking more and more like a joke lmao.
Yes, I’m very concerned looking like a joke to some weirdo in the comments. Go watch something else
That’s why I won’t watch. He’s admitting to being bias by his response.
Did you even see my prior video praising Lebron's career? I'm not admitting anything, I'm trolling this clown because he watched one video and suddenly thinks I'm biased
I don't think you know what your talking about. They have multiple contracts and multiple 1st rd picks to package for another trade.
Oh yeah, what kind of trade(s) then? I’m all ears
@And.One.Hoops1 it seems like all these role players are going for peanuts. Jonas and Richards are easily obtainable. Jonas making 10 mil and Richards 5 mil. We can also take a look at Lonzo to replace Dlo!
This is just one move that didn’t require any 1st rounds picks. It alone doesn’t make lakers contenders but it along side one or two more moves may
The only team the Lakers can't seem to beat in the West is Denver, and it's all mental at this point. Other than that team, I'll take LA over Dallas, Phoenix, OKC, Min, Memphis, Warriors.
Any other team makes this trade you woud be praising it...
Why?
Trash trade
I really don't think that all these teams in the West are that much better than the Lakers. Next thing your going to say is that their on the same tier of teams that the Pelicans and Kings are on. Lebron and AD in the playoffs you CAN'T count out!!!
DLo was the best player on the Lakers besides Davis and DFS is trash lol, keep dealing Paluka
they are done unless they can find a clear upgrade over rui, (I actually like rui) and filler using 1 first round pick. I dont have faith Rob can do this. Still a fan of this trade though.
Watch them get Nick Richards from the hornets he makes 5 mil and they didn’t trade JHS the lakers are most definitely are going to get a big on a small contract, I even wonder what would sharpe would have costed in the same deal.. more to come , Rui is not a negative contract everytime bron sits out he rises. They need another guard and a big. This absolutely can get done.
Play Prince Bronie more
Dont the Lakers have the G.O.A.T? Doesn't he make everyone on the team "better"?
Lakers are not going to win until LeDiddy retires.....he needs to leave b4 he trades everybody away like the first time .....he plays no defense and washed up
i mean the ball is ball, the player is player but FS is more atlethic that rui well see how far lakers will go.
Id trade Lebrons loud chinese business ass and Davis and build a real product
Never seen an employee dictate a company
Much less speaknon things other than basketball to seem profound
All of these takes have aged horribly lmao
Which takes?
They still have the flexibility to make more moves like vuc or Jonas with first round picks are decent tradeable pieces, not to get crazy star but to finish things around the edges and actually make great depth
Look I dunno where you get your info from but Dorian Finley Smith him and shake will be fine don't worry it will fit in eventually but the Lakers are not done making trades. The fact you just said that the Lakers can't make any more moves tell me you don't know the business part of basketball 🏀 Smith will help but bye the time it gets close to the playoffs you gotta remember they don't have all there players vando just came back him and Finley healthy with ad and Bron they will be ok but IT SAYS RIGHT NOW YHE LAKERS WILL MAKE ONE NORE TRADE AND IT SAYS IT WILL BE A BIG ONE SO IM A SIT BACK WAIT AND WE CAN REVISIT THIS DISCUSSION AFTER THE TRADE DEADLINE. Also Lakers freed up 6 million as well so we have to wait and see what happens and it's not like we can't go over the apron anyway so hey we will wait and see. Also if it isn't LeBron or ad they can be traded I don't know what you're talking about bro but everybody and the team can be traded if it ain't add or Lebron also who cares about second round draft picks the Lakers have never been a developing talent of young players ever also you should learn how to do math because all the players that we have on our team there are players with some stupid salaries that we can trade I don't know dude where you what you thinking but you got to just wait and see and this sounds more of your personal opinion than the actual facts of the roster because what we see and what you're talking about are two different things
Interesting
Lakers failed to address the elephant in the room. The problem is Lebron. He doesn't play any defense. Lakers are 4 on 5 when he's out there.
Second round picks are worth less than nothing. You can always sign better free agents on a minimum contract than you'll get from 99% of second round picks.
They're always just roster spot fillers, rarely anything more.
And no... Please don't start ranting about Bronny. This wasn't about him.
Huh
Huh?
Watching DFS this season, every game -- he's been terrible.
Really?!?! He's shooting over 43% on three's with over 5 attempts per game and can guard multiple positions! I think your dreaming, buddy!
@juliangutierrez4851 DFS continuing to be garbage, now with the Lakers. 😅
