Warriors gave Jimmy Butler a contract extension because that gave them options. If it works out with Jimmy on the Warriors this season. They'll have him back on the roster for the next two seasons till (2027). If the rest of this season is a disaster with Jimmy on the roster , they can always find a way to trade him this summer. If the Warriors did not give Jimmy an extension he was going to become a Free-Agent this summer. That happens and Jimmy walked in Free-Agency to another team, Warriors would've of traded Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson , Dennis Schröder , Lindy Watters III and a 1st Round draft pick for nothing. At least the Warriors can trade Jimmy for a player they can make an impact next season, if Jimmy doesn't work out in Golden State this season.

A bit unfortunate that these drama queens who whine and purposefully sabotage their teams still end up getting what they want. Not sure why the Warriors made the move. Seemed like Wiggins is more helpful, even if just because he's younger.

That’s a fact! I was interested in going to the Bulls Derrick Rose night a month ago, I think it was $150 a ticket for the worst seats in the house, and for that view I can watch from the couch. Inflation has been terrible across the board, but post Covid, the prices for concerts, games, shows etc has gone through the roof. I’d pay those prices to see a championship contender, but not for a shit product.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories either, but I can't see the Mavericks making this trade for any other reason than a conspiracy. Whether it's the new owners' attempt to tank the Mavs to move them to Vegas or Adam Silver's plan to salvage the ratings or give LeBron another shot at a title, who knows?

GSW should have acquired a starting center. Jimmy Buckets moves the needle 1 step 🚶‍♂️ up. But, that is all. The next big move is to fire Steve Kerr. He puts too many small lineups. This is a trade that has to be made. Steph needed a partner. The contract is only for 2 yrs. Jimmy carried the heat to the finals with Steph. This is the best team player Jimmy will play with. Wouldn’t be surprised if they make noise in the playoffs

Awful trade, made out of desperation. This is what happens when you put the needs an aging all-time great - Curry - ahead of the team. Curry will be 37 next month, and has been in decline for several years. $147M for Butler, Curry, and Green each of the next two seasons. Yikes! Worse, the deal doesn't really move the needle very much. They will definitely regret it.

With these HUGE contracts, and beyond the game aspects, all I see is people not being able to afford tickets, jerseys, viewing subscriptions, etc.

Even with a disgruntled diva Jimmy going out badly, if you told me we could flip Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, and Dennis Schroeder for Jimmy I would take it.
