I think to some extent, Jimmy has earned some superstar rights.
You're definitely right that Jimmy is no superstar, and he does play arrogantly at times, which is wrong on Jimmy side, but where I think Jimmy has the earned the right to make demands to an extent is that he's the best player on whatever team he is on, mainly after his Bulls time.
TimberWolves; Kat and Wiggins weren't winning anything when Jimmy was there, and while not Jimmy isn't as talented as those two, his drive made him better than those two.
76ers; probably the best situation because he was 2nd behind Embiid, but 76ers front office was too scared to "handle" Jimmy and chose a lesser talent in Tobias Harris.
Miami; Jimmy is arguably their best player, which he has carried them into the playoffs and finals.
Jimmy has admitted he isn't the most talented or gifted. So, being on teams where he's arguably the best player that can also significantly help in winning. In my opinion, he does deserve *SOME* rights to make demands.
Also, as an not rich person, I won't knock anyone wanting to get paid, especially those who have risen from the bottom 🤷‍♂️

They need to redo how much they get paid and if they miss games they lose money or get suspended, and the amount of 3s being jacked up is ridiculous there needs to be a ceiling of how many they shoot before they turn into 2s or something because right now it's a 3 point contest back and forth for most games and the plays are virtually the same on every team it's gotten pretty damn boring to watch most of them, I have league pass for free and I stopped watching and started mostly watching highlights so I can scrub through if it's a 3 point contest.

Always liked Jimmy. Dude is the type of player every fans loves. But I agree, he was never actually a #1. The Heat overachieved. They made it to the finals because the TEAM played above their heads. Jimmy is a high end number 2. Philly messed up by letting him go. Probably would’ve got it done with Embiid. But still, he would’ve been a number 2. I think the 2 teams that he’d elevate are the Pacers and the Hawks.

Reality is this: Butler dragged a sorry ass team to 2 finals 3 conference finals in 4 years. Nobody as a lonely number one option with no help has done that. The closer we got was 2019 Dame when he dragged the blazers to conference finals.
You all are just so used to mediocre "stars" like Embiid, PG, Ben Simmons, Zion that you think Butler belongs in the same category. Reality: he doesn't! Despite a sleepy old man in Pat Riley not giving him help, dude still took Miami to the highest of places. So give him the respect he deserves. EVERY FINALIST besides 2018 Lebron had a co-star or a very solid team to get there or win it all. Butler had...accending Bam, washed Lowry, washed Dragic, injured Terry Rozier, the remains of Kevin Love, inconsistent Tyler Herro and role players who are competent in the Heat system but suck in other teams like Caleb Martin, Strus and Gabe Vincent.

Jimmy was great for Sixers but Sixers front office was too stupid to sign him. Jimmy carried Miami to the finals twice and pushed the Lakers to game 6 while he was missing 2 of his starters. I think he has a right to be cocky. And the only one who loses if Miami doesn't trade him is Miami because he walks at the end of the seeason. Riley wasted Butler's prime by not getting him the help he needed to win a ring. Riley as a team president. Besides Butler, how many stars have they signed other than Jimmy?

@ well no, not by himself but who does. Some teams never get some players help. Just brought up to my nephew how Rose had who as his shooting guard all the years. Same with Jimmy in Miami, most teams got healthy during the bubble and he still dragged them to the finals. Iverson with the 76ers as well. Loyalty should go both ways and I guess that's why players act the way they do or become toxic to get paid before the final year hits. It's just wether he can find a team to pay him and he might find a team, there's always a team lol

Suns should just buy out Bradley Beals contract if they do not want him. Then they can get butler and he can get what he wants. It happened in Brooklyn with Joe Johnson, so why not try it and give it a swing.

    • @holymoly8581
      @holymoly8581 12 дней назад

I am 100% sure that a buyout option will not work because both the team and the player must agree to it in order to terminate the contract. Even if the Suns want to do it, do you think Beal would agree and give up his remaining money?
As for getting Jimmy, even if the Suns get rid of Beal, they still need to complete the trade with the Heat no matter what. The problem the Suns have is that they don't have a good trade package that Riley wants.

Most delusional take ever. Who was miami heat before jimmy arriving, wade retiring? Answer is dog shit team, organization. Jimmys arrival, presence alone changed franchise direction, also made everyone step up. He was the most important piece for miami to go far in playoffs. 2 finals apperances, going beast mode every playoffs even hurt. So many years have passed and Pat Riley never made moves to improve roster, help jimmy, heat, but somehow he is the problem😂😂😂 Same for minnesota, philly he called out every bs on team, organizational level as whole main reason he was not welcomed anywhere. it's ok when organization bashing players, trading them. It's busines right😂as soon players talk, he a problem, cancer😂. Like f out of here. He is still better then guys with 70-80 mil contracts even at 35

Let me tell y'all what the Heat is going to do: keep him. Send him home if necessary or buy him out. Riley has the advantage and non of the assets to make a trade, especially to the Suns for Beal because they know Beal is a grifter. Jimmy just feels like he's owed more, but Pat doesn't pay for past performances unless you're loyal to the franchise. Look at his track record. He's unrelenting. He's always been FOR player economic empowerment, if and only if it serves him. He's a former player himself and he sees how the money AFFECTS these players: the money, life changing money CHANGES them. No matter the sport. And we've seen countless examples of this. So Pat doesn't care. He'll wait him out and let him walk. Pick up your 50 mil and hit the door. Pat is like the old school Mafia Don Joe Profaci: absolute loyalty and NO money for his best guys. Would rather pay the loyal soldiers OK money and keep their EGOs in check.

But jimmy IS that guy. I understand he's very tough on everyone but he is one of the most hardworking players even at his age right now. He got the Miami heat a team that should've never even been a contender to the finals twice and to a ecf all in the span of 5 years in Miami(one of the seasons he was injured). Also you mention that he's not a superstar and although that is true for the reg season no one can deny what kind of a player he is in the playoffs. Stat wise, play wise, whatever you want when jimmy is playing in the playoffs he gets the team farther than they were without him. When jimmy claims that he's that guy and should be paid more how can you even deny it at this point. His only faults are that he's hard on teammates and coaches, which sure is not a good trait but he gets those wins
