I love the use of pathways to create structure and flow. I love seeing how people create relaxing spaces in their landscape. The English Ivy battle is never ending...always climbing up my trees
So much Beauty! Can't wait for the front yard tour! This one is my favorite so far. Please let the homeowner know how much we the viewers appreciate them by allowing you to video their very gorgeous gardens.
I really appreciate these garden tours. It’s so helpful to learn about different plants and to see them in their sites rather than in a nursery can. Thank you so much!
Wow! What a gorgeous garden 🪴 You are doing a great job showing off these beautiful spaces. Thank you for putting the names of the plants on the screen- very helpful. Can’t wait to see the front.
Another beautiful garden! Thanks for sharing and doing these garden tours and thanks to your neighbors for allowing us into their gardens!! I always get ideas from these tours even though I garden in a very different climate, Seattle area Zone 8B. Thanks again.
Wow, the backyard gardens are so beautiful and tranquil! Before you mentioned it, I noticed the English Ivy, and I thought 'oh NO'! I've had to eradicate that in my own landscape, which was not an easy task Thanks Jim, for showing us this beautiful landscape! I'm looking forward to seeing their front yard! ~Margie
In the DFW north Texas area where so many evergreen shrubs died or had severe dieback the red tip photinias sparkled and were shinning. Makes me want to go get one.
Beautiful yard. My gosh. They done good Jim. I don't understand the use of Creeping Jenny in landscapes though. I live in central Illinois 5B and if one piece of that plant from a container combo planter touches the ground........it roots and goes all over. I would call it invasive. And yes, it does overwinter here and comes to life more robust than ever
Absolutely stunning garden Jim! Its so nice of these people to share their private garden with us. Please thank them and thank you for filming it! Absolutely wish that was my yard!🌺🙂💕🌹
Mr Jim- this garden is beautiful. If I was a squatter I would live there! I would drink coffee everyday on that back porch! Thanks for the tour-from SW Missouri!
Jim, I just love these tours so much! They are exciting for me to get to wander through extraordinarily landscaped yards. Thank you for providing this opportunity for me. Although I'm a FL zone 9B so the plants aren't that important (other than for their beauty), I see the repeated message of invasive plants, the importance of choosing plants that bloom during different times throughout the year, and other lessons constantly repeated throughout your videos. Your videos are not only beautiful, but also very educational. Your time, effort, and knowledge are very much appreciated. Thanks.
My neighbor's dead trees fall every time we have a storm (I say a prayer they fall into her yard instead of mine), but I'm having fun clearing out and designing each new section of garden! The briars and poison ivy aren't the best, but hey - I'm making space to plant more shrubs and flowers and it doesn't get better than that!
What a beautiful, amazing garden-perfect. At first I thought it might be Pamela Harper’s garden. Wish you could tour her garden also. This is my favorite garden tour so far. Thank you
Wonderful and detailed garden tour! I love how you point out specific tips on plants and shrubs, especially noting invasive species. I sat on my front porch with a cup of coffee and enjoyed before heading out into my garden. Thank you!
Great that you are local to me! Been subscribed for a pretty long time and your videos are some of the best on RUclips in my opinion. Thanks for doing them. I am sure it is a lot of work.
Jim thank you for sharing these wonderful mature gardens. I love watching you develop your new landscape and also seeing established gardens. Your channel always delights!
I'm really enjoying all of your great backyard videos. I'm working to get our yard as presentable as the ones you have shown. My only suggestion for you is to use a font that has a black outline or a shadow for some of the descriptive shots that are aimed at a light background or up at the sky. The white font tends to blend in with the light background making it hard to read until you point back at some green foliage. Sometimes this isn't enough time to read it all. Again, great work on the videos!
Thanks for the tour, beautiful garden! And now I know why my pink dogwood only has 2-3 blooms on it every year, too much shade even though it gets 4-6 hours of filtered to direct sun in the afternoon. It's 8-10 feet tall now so I don't want to try to transplant it. Rats!
Thanks so much for showing shade gardens! I have a fully shaded backyard due to two beautiful weeping Oaks and it’s tough finding a variety of plants and flowers that will thrive
White pine thing is spot on. I live in SE Virginia and it's all loblolly until you get north or west of Richmond. They seem to struggle here, the few I see generally turn yellow in late summer.
Wow, I very much enjoyed the tour. I sure hope my Lenton Rose will someday look like the ones you showed! I assume it will take time, since I planted mine last spring.
Ivy is very invasive. Just with a cotton or a small cloth wipe the leaves with a roundup - it will be absorbed and kill the roots that are in the part of your garden. They grow rhizomes horizontal under the soil. Control them. They will strangle the roots of your plants and weaken them very sadly. I am organic mi fed gardener. Ask another ivy control spray. Beautiful video and I have learnt a lot. Love you letting us know the names of your garden plants. Thank you. Well done 👍
Very good looking, healthy helleborus. I'm jealous! Aphids, slugs, snails, and disease got mine. I finally dug them all out and tossed them into the yard recycle bin. Hopefully, where they're going will heat up enough to kill whatever ailed them. I don't like ivy. Fortunately, neither do any of my neighbors. If it ever came into my yard, I'd be tempted to spray along the fence line at the first sign of any leaves poking through, and spray any starts popping up from seeds spread by birds. Blackberries are a problem. Birds spread the seeds from miles away. I'm constantly running across babies and pulling or digging them out. Those I don't spray because I'm not as mad at them as I am ivy. Hope the ivy problem in this showcase yard gets under control! I wouldn't mind at all if solomen's seal was invasive in my yard. I can't get it to grow no matter what and I've tried for at least ten years. I keep planting it and it dies out. Move it around someplace else and it dies out.
Wow Jim, so far this is my favorite tour. Thank you so much! That level brick path that meandered around was perfect, was not too brightly colored and did not take attention away from the beautiful plants. What was the dimension of the backyard ( I may want to copy their landscape- Austin style)?
Thank you for sharing this shade loving garden. How much maintenance do you think it takes to keep this garden up? We have a wooodscaped yard and want to do something like this with our property. Lots of trees and shade and no lawn to mow.
These lovely tours inspire... and frustrate. Can you find a garden oasis that doesn't have towering, ancient shade trees? Maybe one that is in full, hot sun? Thanks.
Beautiful garden, thanks for showing it. I have a similarly shaded yard just south of Charlotte with some nice big oaks. I would love to do a shaded garden but what do you do about leaves in the fall? I love my trees but leaf cleanup is the bane of my existence 😊 Do you just let the leaves collect and let them decompose under the plants or do you need to fish most of them out? Thanks
I shot this video a few weeks ago, but i was just able to edit it today. The front yard video will be up next week. Thanks for watching.
I LOVE this landscape. I have been looking forward to the front yard and haven't been able to find the link. Has it been posted?
I love the way the garden blends together naturally without being so formal.
I completely agree
I love the use of pathways to create structure and flow. I love seeing how people create relaxing spaces in their landscape. The English Ivy battle is never ending...always climbing up my trees
So tranquil. If I were a bird in the area I would live at that garden space. Very nice. Thanks Jim.
Meanwhile in dry El Paso, “Well take the invasive English ivy!” 😄
Love the garden tours!
So much Beauty! Can't wait for the front yard tour! This one is my favorite so far. Please let the homeowner know how much we the viewers appreciate them by allowing you to video their very gorgeous gardens.
You are knocking it out of the park with the garden tours. Thank you!!
It’s incredible how they have created their own private, lush world in such a small space. What a stunning garden!
I appreciate your format and information sharing (especially the plant genus and common names on the screen)! Thanks from Huntersville, NC.
Big fan of the tours, especially shade gardens. Thanks.
Wow, gorgeous yard. Thank you for the tour.
Really nice and peaceful garden
Nice garden, the pathways and elevated beds really add a lot to the experience and views!
They definitely do. Not really my type of pathway, but they are perfect for this space.
Jim, what is your type of preferred walkway?
Wow, I'm jealous. Great structure and looks so calm and peaceful
It really uses the space in the center of the backyard without having to maintain every square foot all the time.
I really appreciate these garden tours. It’s so helpful to learn about different plants and to see them in their sites rather than in a nursery can. Thank you so much!
Beautiful garden, always love hearing the birds in the background!!
When I first came across your video I didn't want to click on it, now I am a new subscriber and enjoy your knowledge and content.
Fantastic garden. Thank the owner for their devotion and willingness to share.
Wow! What a gorgeous garden 🪴 You are doing a great job showing off these beautiful spaces. Thank you for putting the names of the plants on the screen- very helpful. Can’t wait to see the front.
I love this lush layered look. It’s great to see what can be accomplished in a shady garden!
Another beautiful garden! Thanks for sharing and doing these garden tours and thanks to your neighbors for allowing us into their gardens!! I always get ideas from these tours even though I garden in a very different climate, Seattle area Zone 8B. Thanks again.
Thabks for watching them😊
Another great garden tour. You have some incredibly talented gardener-neighbors Jim.

Love this garden! I especially like how the azela were cut back to a low spreading type of plant, unique look.
Beautiful yard. My gosh. They done good Jim. I don't understand the use of Creeping Jenny in landscapes though. We would totally watch you walk around a beautiful garden for an hour, just FYI.

Thank you for the tour. We have many of the same shade plants here in the Seattle WA area.

I recently began watching your videos and am so enjoying them.
Great that you are local to me! Been subscribed for a pretty long time and your videos are some of the best on RUclips in my opinion. Thanks for doing them. I am sure it is a lot of work.
I love how the different variety of plants block out the yard in areas. You have to venture out and explore to see all of them. Can't wait for part2!
Loving the garden tours

Generally they grow right on the edge of the woods and ask for some direct sun. Thanks for watching.
Can I just snap my fingers this be my backyard 😍
Thanks so much for showing shade gardens! I have a fully shaded backyard due to two beautiful weeping Oaks and it’s tough finding a variety of plants and flowers that will thrive

Wow at 11:25 it’s like a sea of English ivy.
Beauty garden very nice

Great video! Which would you recommend for a screening plant that would get partial sun in zone 7a in OK, chindo viburnim or wax myrtle?
Wow Jim, so far this is my favorite tour. Thank you so much!
That level brick path that meandered around was perfect, was not too brightly colored and did not take attention away from the beautiful plants.
What was the dimension of the backyard ( I may want to copy their landscape- Austin style)?
Jim, Edgeworthia from the jump, giving me some serious envy as I look at my sad twig. Trying to troll me aren't you?
I have found some big ones this season for sure. Unusual specimens really
