    Wow! I was sold at the initial view of those gorgeous Crape Myrtles and that giant Acer. I love the use of rock in any landscape and it looks amazing in theirs's.

    Thank the homeowners from all of us for sharing. I love the meandering wall along the driveway. Lots of good ideas. I've never seen such a lush shade garden. It gives me hope for my yard and I learned some new plants to shop for.

    Perfect example of how texture can make a garden a show-stopper, without blooms. I'm really keen on the meandering stone retainer wall /pathways & that they didn't use more brick. Also love their brick house. Can't wait for part 2! **Question:** Did a designer/landscaper do this or is this the result of a VERY talented homeowner? 👍👍🧡🙂

    This is why evergreen shrubs & plants are so very important to give a large foundation life. These home homeowners did an amazing job incorporating that. Thank you Jim.

      We have Oaks throughout this a neighborhood that are that size. All went in the ground in late 1940s.

    Absolutely gorgeous,congratulations to the homeowners and thanks to Jim for sharing. My front yard shade garden up north I just beginning to wake up so it is so lovely to see such lush green landscape. I admire how natural and organic the landscape looks, testimony to truly talented gardeners.

    I can see why this yard caught your attention. Spectacular mature landscapes in the shade offer something a full sun spot lacks. I'm working around 2 big oaks in front of our front porch & can only dream of something this nice. Much less maintenance than most yards too!

You are genuine, and your videos are always very interesting, informative and inspiring! This one was amazing as the aesthetic is similar to ours- we love rocks, variety of plantings, creativity and playfulness while also being cohesive and rhythmic rather than a contrived, too polished, or an ultra formal/ predictable look.     Love all the textures! Due to large trees in my front yard I am using ground covers, shrubs& perennials & removing as much weedy grass as I can. This gave me so much inspiration!

    What a stunning garden! It reminds me of my former next door neighbor's growing up. She was an architectural landscape major, and she planted so many Japanese maples up and down our street. This garden reminds me so much of hers

    Beautiful landscaping!!! Love the stone wall! They do need to pressure wash the green mold off the house, but other than that, it’s perfect! 😍

    One of my fave garden tours I've ever seen. I can tell it is a labor of love and well cared for. I'm taking notes. I'd love to achieve something similar with plants more suitable to my area (northern Midwest).

    Spectacular. Thank you to the homeowners for allowing the tour. Jim you are a walking flora encyclopedia 🧐😄 I moved to my present location 8b GA 4 yrs ago. I have never had so much shade to work with. Honestly your channel inspires me. I bought some Yew, Hosta, Ilicium and some others, all experimental. We'll see. 🤞

    Shade gardens with the amazing variation of colors from deep greens, purples, to yellow greens and blue greens all packaged in varying sizes and shapes creates wonders for resting your eyes and calming the mind. Thank you Jim for the tour.

    Iam a big fan of the Japanese garden slash Northwest landscapes feel, pathways, pockets of seclusion and tranquil spaces, soften rocks and trees for height and shade. Beautiful this made my morning....South Carolina?

    I just love all of the little paths and use of stones and ground cover. It reminds me of how Jack Barnwell designs his spaces. It’s really beautiful and just proves how beautiful shady gardens can be.

    You should do a series intended for people who have just moved to the RTP area! There are so many transplants (myself included) and I figured out the zone differences through watching your channel! It would be such a hit if you made it a playlist!!!!
