I know many say they watch videos with their morning coffee. I watch them at lunch at school. My 4th graders come in and drop off their lunch bags. Hearing their comments and a “what’s she planting today?” makes me laugh. Yesterday someone asked how the sweet peas were doing. 🤣Today they enjoyed the lungwort blooms. A few of the boys told me their mother’s favorite flowers. ❤️❤️❤️

When we first bought our 'forever' home, we spent half on perennials and half on annuals each year. We love the annuals for quick color and spreading to fill 'blank' areas, and the perennials obviously for the longevity. So each year we had less and less area to fill. Now we share our best perennials with our neighbors - black eyed susans, siberian irises, gladiolas, geraniums, and lots of others. So much fun!

I have come to appreciate annuals, and many of them act somewhat like perennials in that they set seed, and if you are patient and don't mulch too soon in the spring, you may be delighted to find little annual baby seedlings that you can then thin. It is such a delight to discover them. (I check what to look for on Google images for any annuals I may be unfamiliar with.) I love perennials too, but I have certain spots that I reserve for annuals, and once they get blooming, they are gorgeous 'til the frost. Cleome is one annual that faithfully seeds itself, and I also have Gomphrena "Strawberry Fields," which is hard to find at nurseries.

My landscapers have destroyed about $2,000 of plants in the last couple years. So aggravating. My husband has talked with them several times…not sure if they are taking the plants or what. 2 years ago I planted 30 Hellabores…10 in the front side garden, 20 behind our tree house….only 5 left behind the tree house… and they used electric shears on my my hydrangeas which I have several varieties; so I had hardly any blooms last summer.
I’m just sick to my stomach as I have put so much time and money into developing my flowerbeds and landscape. My husband doesn’t want to fire them as we do have a high maintenance yard. I told him that they are landscapers they should know what they are doing. I’ve tried talking with them about not touching certain plants and they seem to forget what ever I tell them….am I the only one that struggling with the landscapers?

One thing about echinacea that I think is worth mentioning is that the regular purple coneflower variety is a lot tougher and more reliable than most of the hybrid varieties. The hybrid echinacea varieties look cool but they usually don't seem to perform as well as the original purple coneflower. The bees also don't like the hybrid varieties of echinacea as much because the non-native colored blooms throw them off.

My mom is a huge hosta lover. A lady in her neighborhood several years ago was cleaning out a bed of “Patriot” hostas and my mom took several home. They get huge in her garden! She doesn’t seem to do anything special but they just seem to love it. She also has some of the biggest and most beautiful “Colossal Blue” hostas I’ve ever seen! She bought them as bare roots at Costco years ago and they have thrived. Hostas don’t seem to mind the heat, oppressive humidity, and heavy clay soils of Alabama, in fact they seem to thrive in it. They do however seem to benefit from being mulched around to help hold the moisture in.

One year, I dug up a couple of hostas. There is a wooded area in my backyard...so, I just put them there...not planted, fully exposed roots and all. That year, we had a very cold and snowy winter. In the spring, I noticed that those hostas were starting to green out, getting new leaves! I couldn't believe it. I didn't think they would survive. I finally planted them. The problem for me is that there are a lot of deer. They love them and will eat the leaves down to the stem. It doesn't kill the plant, just is ugly for the season. Hostas are a very tough and easy plant. Very low maintenance...maybe water now and then.

I recommend hostas to anyone who wants a showy plant with little effort and maintenance. Mine grow like wild things. It took some work and prayer to get my ferns to take off, but they are lush and choke out weeds like champs now that they've decided to stay with me. I also have irises, peonies, and day lilies that return with no effort on my part. When we added a sun room on the back of the house, the first thing I did when the dust had settled was plant a row of hostas on each side. I add some hanging pots of geranium every summer for color, and just enjoy the show!

    • @AgendaInMind

It's happening just as I said it would...the healing phase of being "scared to death" is pneumonia, aka "flu". So as people are released from the solitary confinement of their homes (because of media and government lies based on the fraudulent Germ Theory), and people begin to get happy and feel less stressed, the result will be the healing phase....of pneumonia. The fear campaign has caused ALL the illnesses, not a Boogey Virus.
Every disease is based on the Germ Theory, which was the theory of ONE man over 100 years ago. It was never proven to be 100% valid, and has not even been QUESTIONED again. Why? In order for a theory to be valid, it must be reproduceable in each and every person 100% of the time. Every single person exposed to a "virus" MUST get sick from it 100% of the time, over and over again. It's how you PROVE a theory is valid. This was never done. Scientists used to think witches and witchcraft were valid!! Educated people?? hahaha!! If you cannot "catch" cancer, arthritis or diabetes from another person, then you cannot "catch" a cold or flu. There is no such thing that only SOME diseases are communicable, but not all. It's either all or none of them...they are all based on the same Germ Theory. If you can't "catch" someone's lung cancer, you can't "catch" their colds or flu. Upsetting and distressing events in a person's life is what cause ALL cancer and cancer-equivalent disease, cold, flu, pneumonia, bronchitis, etc. A massive fear campaign will CAUSE people to be "worried sick", but sickness doesn't happen until people resolve their fears. Why do you think kids get sick in October? Because their fear of going back to school and being upset about it finally dissolves, and they get back into their routines. What the media and government is doing to people is criminal. Western Medicine is pure fraud. I can't be the only person in this disgustingly brainwashed world who knows about German New Medicine.

Sorry but of course he disappeared. House cats have not evolved to spend time successfully and safely in the wild and I always feel sad when I see them wandering outside. I cringed when I saw the appearance of the cat outdoors in the video. Please keep cats indoors. Safer for them and the environment (birds have enough pressure from humans). They’re unnecessary predators in most suburban and rural environments. And for goodness sakes absolutely spay/neuter them - already thousands of unwanted pets killed in shelters due to irresponsible humans.

    • @gardenjoy5223
      @gardenjoy5223 4 месяца назад

@@Wee162 TOTALLY disagree with you. First: they are not house cats. They are cats. They can be domesticated, but they love, LOVE to be outside. It's only the last few generations of some people in some cultures, that keep them indoors.
You lock up animals, that belong outdoors, for life. I find that utterly mean!
If you live somewhere, and it can't be different, there is another choice: get a hamster instead!
But here in Europe on the land and in the suburbs almost all the cats are free range cats. Like we all were free range kids.
But nowadays, in countries like the USA, people lock up their kids too.
And there are so many evil people there, that you can't even let your child walk or bike to school. What a deranged culture! What has been taken away from those poor kids! I deeply cringe, each time I see that.
No beings are worse for the environment, than humans!!! That sick bird, that a cat occasionally catches, at least doesn't have to die a slow death.
So PLEASE, stop jailing cats for their entire lives! And if you live somewhere, where you have to keep them indoors, at least never let them go outdoors from birth. That said, that cat that went missing, was a male cat, always kept indoors. He HATED it indoors. HE desperately wanted to get outside, so the woman, to whom he belonged before, looked for a place, where he could roam free.
With her, in jail, this cat was utterly miserable. With me he had the best of times. If perhaps a car got him, he was dead right away. But that's far better, than a life time of incarceration! Male cats have a normal radius of 3 to 4 miles. You give him feet instead. CRUEL.
Plus we ALWAYS spay and neuter our cats. In many shelters you get a free voucher for that, to make sure even people with less money can have that done.
Only as&hole people neglect that, so kittens are born. But usually many cat lovers have several cats, so it does not get out of hand here. The cats in all of my neighborhoods, no matter where I lived, always had their own family, who took good care of them and loved them like a family member.
Cats also are very useful, for keeping the mice and rat population under control. In some countries these pest animals can eat up to 30% of the grain. When Australia got rid of its outdoor cat population, they got a major mouse pest. Many millions of mice took over their farms.
But also in our small town, my neighbor, who didn't have a cat, several times borrowed my cat for a few hours to get rid of the mice in her garage. Worked just fine.
      Otherwise they gnaw through everything.

I don't think I've seen a single plant or flower in your video show up in my local nurseries. 😂 I'm in Central Florida, in a very wooded area with lots of wildlife, and I battle 4 extremes: 95° heat (with a heat index of 120° 😬) in summer, drought in spring, then torrential rain in summer (hurricane season!) and extremely cold winters (last winter it got down to 19°!) I find myself planting the same 15 or 20 plants over and over, lol....So far, the African Iris has emerged as the triumphant winner. It can take anything you toss at it. My other winners are crape myrtle, thryallis, Blue Daze, gaura, lantana, boxwood, and ligustrum. I'm excited to make a list of your top winners and try them out! Obviously, I will have to shop online. 😂 Thanks for this wonderful list of potential alternatives. 🤗👍

Another funny note about hosta is that the deer won't eat the hostas on my street, they'll maybe nibble if they are desperate, but a friend in a neighborhood not even ten minutes away (but on the other side of a major road) told me that the deer love to eat allll the hostas over there! Same varieties, just different deer taste buds I guess.

Right now I have my first blooms, in full sun location...so special with very large coral blooms, sturdy, and another deep cherry magenta color with huge ruffles blooms. Love the old fashioned varieties too, but we are dying fir blooms in spring, early summer here, and this. Is. It!

Wow! There are some varieties I’ve not seen or heard of.
I tried Hostas 20 years ago they all died they were on the northside in shade did not do well but my neighbor grows them and hers look great!
I like succulents because were often drought ridden. Mine are not in full sun summer and heavily shaded to moderate shaded and some get six hours or more of sun but at the same time get six hours of shade
Got to share this with friends.
    Thank you!

The autumn joy sedum are great. I just wish it didn't look like huge bunches of broccoli before they turn red. Sedum is also cool because you can break a piece off, stick it in the ground and it grows. I'd love to get some Russian Sage and lavender. Heck, I want every flower on the planet. Wow! Love the plant with blue and pink blooms. I have wanted a helleboris for the last ten years.
