This is what my garden wants to be when it grows up. Living in a forest myself, I know how difficult it is to garden with deer. My hat is off to this wonderful couple for what they have accomplished. I will be watching this video several times I'm sure. Thank you Jim , Jim, and Lynn.
Oh my goodness! This is such a beautiful garden that Lynn and Jim have created. It actually looks so natural and effortless but we all know it's been a labor of love. I love every aspect of this garden from peaceful walkways to the sentimental value of the swing and play house that he made for his daughters and now used in the garden. Thank you all for sharing this with us - it was such a treat.
Beautiful spot, it's taken a lot of work to create such a lovely garden, thanks Mr. P. For doing this video and thanks to Jim & Lynne for letting us visit.
I concur with all the previous comments...I can't come up with anything original so I'll just say thank you for sharing this amazing garden both jm and the owners. Bravo !
Oh do go back please! I could spend hours in their woodland garden. Love to hear more about leveling that slope. That in itself is an amazing challenge which they have clearly met! Thanks to you and hostess for sharing.
Thank you for putting the identification tags on the plants, so I can research them for my zone. This is my style, love to see they are using the leaves as in place compost or on their paths. Very inspiring mature garden, they should be very proud, I hope they have time to sit a spell in it.
I love a woodland garden more than anything. It takes love of nature to work with it rather than a fully manufactured & manicured garden. Love the use of natural logs, I saw how nature used fallen logs to create semi-terraces & how pockets for plants got created. Love this couples outlook on gardening! Thanks Lynn & both Jims! Edit: oh yes, much more to see. More tours & bloopers please!
Really enjoyed this garden tour! I kept stopping the video to take screen shots of plants I might want for my garden. So much inspiration here- thank you!
I've been -planning- freaking out over a half acre portion of my yard I'm turning into a garden. Everyday I get further -ahead- behind because I can't settle on anything! I see videos like this and it's so beautiful that I feel -inspired- like I'll never get it right. 😭😭😭😭 Seriously though, -nice- amazing garden!
Jim, this has got to be one of the most beautiful private gardens I've ever seen on a gardening video! I would love to have tagged along on this tour ...to experience this garden in person! Please thank Lynn and Jim for allowing you to video their gorgeous gardens for your RUclips channel. ~Margie🦋💚🌞
This was one awesome garden Jim. Agree with you this might be one of your best tours. This lady had such a great feel for creating contrast in the garden. Thanks for sharing this place
Awesome garden, please go back! I especially loved and totally appreciated that they did all this themselves! I go on so many garden tours of large lots, where money is no object. Unrealistic for many of us.
Jim and Lynn have a beautiful garden, thanks Jim P for sharing your tour with your viewers. Yes, once the garden bug bites it leaves a beautiful scar on your heart and soul.
WONDERFUL gardens & so nice to have the owner contribute information during this video. This is particularly inspiring to me, for my sloped, deep woodland gardens. Thank you for featuring many different styles of private gardens. And thank you to these homeowners for sharing this.
Spectacular garden, thanks so much for the tour! I so love how natural it looks with the use of stone and logs. Those kousa dogwoods at the entrance, the daphne, the variegated plants…swoon! Especially inspiring that they did most of that work themselves. I would love to see more from this garden. Thanks so much to all of you for sharing.
Jim, thanks to you and this couple for showing this amazing gardening landscape! It’s so refreshing to see how they have turned a ‘mature’ lot into something quite magical including the challenges of having slopes and also demonstrating sustainability. These shady garden ideas are just what I needed, including the tip on planting on slopes! I will be re-watching this video a few times and look forward to seeing more of their garden rooms! 🌳🌸🇨🇦
Gorgeous garden. A credit to the owners. The wonderful thing is that, as well as the enjoyment it will bring them, they will probably live longer, healthier lives. Gardening is the best obsession of all and according to the Biblical narrative, man's first job. Lynn & Jim, you should be very proud of what you've created there. Lovely.
I just came across this video. It's funny how as you start to gain more knowledge of the different plants and tree species you recognize them immediately in these random videos. I took my dogs for a nice walk in a pleasant part of town that has a forested country club vibe (not where I live), and saw a gorgeous version of this tree in the intro of the video, Wolf Eyes. I was going to take a picture of the tree it was spectacular in its full white leaved bloom. A very elegant looking tree. I'm adding it to my list of plants and trees I'd like to collect for my home some day. What a stand out tree.
Beautiful labor of love. Great conversation too. Having arrived from the Pacific Northwest a couple of years ago I saw many favorites that I grew there including her collection of abundant native ferns. Thank you for sharing this garden with us and thank you Jim for posting the plant names for us. Very very helpful.
This garden is exquisite, and the owner is so gracious and knowledgeable. I am inspired. I have a very shady back yard in Georgia, 8a, and I was jotting down the names of plants I hope to acquire. Thank you!!!
I keep watching this video over again. Those Wolf eyes are definitely my favorite. The deer fence is nice too. Hard work pays in many ways.. Thanks for the tour.
Jim, thank you! This garden is my jam! I’m so happy to hear you’ll revisit to do a more detailed focus on individual beds. I have a 7b suburban shade garden north of Atlanta. My major obstacles are slope/erosion, deer, and ground dwellers (chipmunks and voles). Thankfully, my husband loves me dearly😊 and has installed numerous rock walls, a pathway, and a bridge. Our HOA fencing guidelines are too restrictive to prevent deer intrusion, so I’ve learned much over the years about the diets of my fellow forest dwellers and the cost of liquid repellents. There’s a precious ecosystem of life all around me; accepting and being a grateful witness to this bigger picture helps to diminish the inevitable frustrations that arise…daily. 🫤Your comment about using gold/bright green in shade is spot-on; cascades of Carex Everillo provide year-round interest and I adore Sun King Aralia.
what a fabulous garden ... I think my favorite of all the gardens you've visited (so far!). I particularly fond of woodland gardens and this is one of the best. I would love to see it in the Fall when the Japanese Maples all come into their glory ... thanks for taking the time to visit and film, and thanks to the home owners / gardeners for sharing this beautiful work of "art" !!!
i can see why it's one of your fav's!! what a charming woodland garden, charming lady, i love listening to gardeners talk to each other. thanks for sharing!
Another awesome video and I especially appreciate the plant names and zones that was provided. This beats any public paid garden tours and jealous you are invited to so many personal gardens!
That was such a treat! Thank you so much Jim for the tour! Jim and Lynn have a beautiful garden! I could tell that Lynn really loved her garden! And that daphne looked amazing!
I love all kinds of gardening. It 's the nature in mankind. To watch seeds emerge into plants 🪴. Then become all tips of gardens. Thank you Lynn and Jim for sharing your passion with us. Fonderful Jim and Stephany for teaching us. I learn more to day. Thank you 💖
Have Jim and Lynn named their garden? If not they should call it Paradise because they’ve really created paradise there. Such an amazing space. It also reminds me of the Secret Garden. Just beautiful. As you know Jim my three year old loves Japanese Maples and he’s been screaming there’s one! There’s one! Again making my little guys day with your videos.
Greetings from northern Atlanta zone 7b. I just recently found your channel, our lot is similar to theirs and we are getting ready to clean it up, this couldn’t be more on point! Thank you both!
Amazing garden and an amazing couple! Such a beautiful setting with so many interesting plants. Lynn has helped me in my garden and inspired me to look beyond flowers to structure and ornamentals. I’ve learned to love my shade and am realizing all the wonderful plants that can thrive there. ( But yes,the deer are a pain!) Great video Jim. Thanks for sharing. 🌿
Thank you Jim, for making this video, and especially to Lynn for allowing us into your garden. This could be my favourite shade garden video. I love your garden. I'm in the Vancouver BC area Z8 and have 1/3 acre which has a small area of woodland surrounded by tall cedars and firs. We have a slope, leading to a cliff on the side of this area. I'm always on the lookout for shade plants and have been inspired by your garden style. We have some large branches from one of the firs, and I think I will put them on the side of the short path. I'm doing it pretty well single handed and fell into gardening when my husband retired and we moved to this property 10 years ago. I loved it instantly too. I need to paint my shed and somehow make the path loop around so it's not a dead end. The projects never end. But then, what else would I rather do? I just hope they get easier. Thanks again.
These tours are wonderful! I would love to hear more from Lynn about pruning the maples. It’s a skill I’d like to improve. Gardens like that don’t just happen, although it looks like it did.
Goodness, your garden is amazing. So interesting and peaceful. I could watch this video over and over. I have a shade garden that my hubs put paths in for me; he lined the paths with rocks we dug up from the ground. We live in PA, and we do have rocky soil. Huge rocks. So I know the work involved. Thank you for the tour. Stunning.
What a magnificent garden and collection of plants like the Japanese maples. We collect Japanese maples so I can totally understand that. Thanks Jim for the beautiful tour❤️❤️❤️
WOW! Where to start! This is my favorite! Thank you Jim & Lynn for allowing us in your beautiful garden! Jim, you asked really good questions and I was just in awe the whole tour! I love the design, the variety of plants, all of it. I do have a question. I'm always curious in gardens like this, how do they keep it watered? I would love to do something like this but wouldn't know how to water it. I wouldn't want it to be a chore. That would take all the fun out. Again, stunningly beautiful garden ❣️
I’m just amazed at this beautiful garden. Such a treat to go along with you exploring in this magical forest. Please go back when you can. BTW…love the out takes!
Absolutely stunning in every single way, so much love as gone into this garden 🥰 it’s simply WONDERFUL 🥰 Thank You Jim for bringing us a long and sharing this delightful tour 🥰
This is what my garden wants to be when it grows up. Living in a forest myself, I know how difficult it is to garden with deer. My hat is off to this wonderful couple for what they have accomplished. I will be watching this video several times I'm sure.
Thank you Jim , Jim, and Lynn.
Are you allowed to shoot the deer. They are an introduced species in New Zealand and eat the habitat of endangered birds
Oh my goodness! This is such a beautiful garden that Lynn and Jim have created. It actually looks so natural and effortless but we all know it's been a labor of love. What a lovely landscape this couple has created...so peaceful and a great retreat from our crazy world. Thank you for bringing us this garden🙂
Beautiful spot, it's taken a lot of work to create such a lovely garden, thanks Mr. P. For doing this video and thanks to Jim & Lynne for letting us visit.
WOW, my favorite of ALL your garden tours. It is spectacular, please thank this couple for letting us see their magnificent collection.
So peaceful and the owner was so nice to “visit”.
I concur with all the previous comments...I can't come up with anything original so I'll just say thank you for sharing this amazing garden both jm and the owners. Bravo !

Gorgeous!!! Love the woodsy log paths along with the beautiful water fountain. Love this tour ❤️
I like the logs lining paths as well. I am going to copy this!!
Thank you for putting the identification tags on the plants, so I can research them for my zone. This is my style, love to see they are using the leaves as in place compost or on their paths. Very inspiring mature garden, they should be very proud, I hope they have time to sit a spell in it.
This is magnificent. Really want to add some kousa dogwoods to my landscape💕

Lynn was so knowledgeable and humble. Loved her garden.
It would be nice to see this garden in the fall when all the maples are changing colors. I hope you revisit them and film again in the autumn.
I enjoyed this tour so much. Lynn's smile is as welcoming as her beautiful garden.
A treasure in this woodland setting - peaceful and beautiful
I've been -planning- freaking out over a half acre portion of my yard I'm turning into a garden.

Is awesome when you have money, good property and a spouse who have the same hobby. She is so blessed!!

Hello! Great video! Thank you for a wonderful tour! The garden looks great. I wish you a wonderful day💐🌻❤️👌🌿

Loving your garden tour series Jim! They have done magic on the slope ground. I love a great woodland garden!

My idea of Heaven. Shady woodland. I'd be in my element

Another awesome video and I especially appreciate the plant names and zones that was provided. This beats any public paid garden tours and jealous you are invited to so many personal gardens!
I am struggling with my steep woodland garden. I found this is such an inspiring garden. please make more videos!
GM! Yes, this looks to be a low-maintenance four-season garden. It seems to have ideal lighting and slope to accommodate most plants.
You are right: low maintenance! I’m inspired to look into my woodsy lot and start trying to plant stuff 😅😅
I love these tours. It’s been so inspiring.
Love your garden tour Jim. Lynn and Jim’s garden is peaceful and natural. It seems has been there forever.
That was such a treat! Thank you so much Jim for the tour! Jim and Lynn have a beautiful garden! I could tell that Lynn really loved her garden! And that daphne looked amazing!

Beautiful garden. I’m jealous. Jim do a garden where there’s sun all the time. No trees.
A breathtaking garden. I'm so happy to hear that you'll be showing it again. It would be so nice to see it in the fall.
What a beautiful garden. Woodland gardens are my favorite. Thanks to both you and your host for sharing!
