@@benceklock4831 we dont even know where that battle was? Theres plenty of coastal garrisions from the empire or humans on Lustria. Or wherever this where.

You know I've only just considered it, but it was actually really nice of Luthor to shoot that guard. I mean the dude was surrounded by a horde of zombie pirates and a mourngul, the only thing that was in his future was a very long, very screamy death. That boy was not going to go quietly into the night.
I strongly recommend it. As someone who has been playing Total War since Medieval 2, Warhammer 2 is a top contender for me (have not made up my mind). It may not be a historical setting (which is not a negative, but people have preferences nonetheless), but hot damn does it itch my desire for diverse army rosters. On a side note, if you get interested in Warhammer lore while you play this game, then be prepared to get lost in Warhammer wiki pages (or even 1d4chan).
My response is a little late, but my suggestion would be to start with the first unless you really want to play as any of the game 2 factions. The first will be cheaper and frequently goes on pretty good sales. Additionally, if you own the first game it unlocks the base factions (Empire, Vampire Counts, Dwarves, and Greenskins) for the second game and unlocks a larger map with all the factions in the second game (which has it's own pros and cons mind).
I showed this trailer to my dear old mother, who loves pirates of the carribean kinda stuff. When the vampire pirate cannon crews showed up and fired off their crescendo she exclaimed 'Oh my what terrible weapons!' bless her
i felt sad when i saw "vampire" and was like, oh please no more vampires!, but when i saw the trailer, i went nuts, this is just soooo good, ima play this faction a lot, and its going to be my first vampire faction to play!
We are not among the living - so we cannot die. But NEITHER are we DEAD!!! For too long we've been parched of thirst and unable to quench it! For too long we've been starvin to death - and haven't DIED!! We feel NOTHING... not the wind on our face - not the spray of the sea... nor the warmth of a woman's flesh... You'd best start believin in tales of heresy, noble born... You're IN one!
"Remember that tiny piece of GW lore that said there were Vampire Pirates? And remember how they never made more then 2 models for them? Well... we made an army."
Well... kinda. Dogs of war are mercenary companies that hire themselves out to all sorts of folks for gold. The Tilean city-states, much like the Italian ones IRL, have a habit of hiring them regularly because of how warlike the place is. However, I could see those city-states having their own armies too. So I could see some kind of Italian city-state/roman/greek fantasy thing with lots of regiments of renown available working for whichever factions end up being placed in Tilea. There'd probably also need to be more settlements there too, two on the Tilean mainland isn't really enough.
Can’t wait to play as zombie pirates and have sick naval battles.... wait... Edit: wanna clarify, hyped for this to all hell. Plus, apparently there are going to be island and black ark battles (rip to that mod) in place of naval battles
Sadly not gonna happen :/ "Does this mean you’re introducing naval battles? No, we don’t currently have any plans to build a system that adds full naval battles to the game. This would be a vast undertaking and certainly beyond the scope of a DLC pack." www.totalwar.com/blog/total-war-warhammer-ii-curse-of-the-vampire-coast-faq
I think so. When CA specifies "ingame engine trailer", that means It's in the game, or at least that the graphics shown are in. Otherwise, they label it as "cinematic trailer", like the Norsca one, or the main Intro trailers. EDIT: also, there are ingame screen caps on the Steam page that shows therse graphics.
Mathias you're right, ofc. My bad. Still, I think the song / music will be in the game. I think the previous faction trailer themes were partially used in the game. Maybe not the skaven one, but the tomb kings music was there.

After all these years I still think that this is the best DLC trailer CA has ever done, chaos dwarfs are also epic, but there's just something about this one that just hits all the right notes
"Gentleelves! You will always remember this as the day that you almost caught... Arch Grand Commodore Luthor Harkon!" -Luthor Harkon to Lokhir Fellheart and the Blessed Dread faction.
Man, Imagine the heads at GW watching this trailer, tearing their own hair out for not capatalizing on something so fun and campy like this! Shows what we can get when CA get's the reigns to go beyond any established rulebook and make something of their own.
GW decided to go for some abstract W40k-like stuff with Warhammer fantasy. They completely forgot the fun potential of the Warhammer universe. They did the same mistake they did with Blood Bowl. Would be great if TWW reminded them the meaning of "fun".
They just looked at the numbers and saw that Warhammer Fantasy Battles sales were pretty bad (having beeen in decline for quite some time) and that 40k worked very well financially. And so they "reinvented" fantasy to be more like 40k and offer an easy entry into the Hobby so they could broaden their customer base.
Actually Age of Sigmar can allow them to do such a thing, since Vampires are already there, in fact, it would be an excellent option for an Order vs Death oceanic oriented campaign involving the Idoneth, the Kharadron and Vampire Pirates. Except for Tomb Kings and Bretonnia everything you see in WFB can be done in AoS, and it may yet be that the former can just be some sort of Shysh civilization while the later could be part of the Free Guilds.
From what I understand as a tabletop 40k player is you can have literally anything as long as it fit within rules, the style and factions are whatever you want.

How did a crazy pirate like Harkon ever MAKE a huge wooden mecha like that?! Really, what's stopping any of the other Vampires from just incorporating a bunch of these units into their armies? I don't get how the Vampire Coast is suppose to be its own unique faction.
necrofex colossus -look it up. In answer to your question there is nothing lore wise to stop other vampires making them. Lore wise a couple have popped up all over the old world. They can be made out of nearly anything. In this case ship wrecks. The faction itself will be unique because it will designed to be unique.
Because pirates. Everything is cooler when it comes to pirates. I think it's also because not a lot of people know how to do pirate fantasy in a new and cool way. :P

HAHHAHAHA this is EPIC!!!! when they anounced more vampires i was like meh but now that i see these units its like a whole different faction, hell yeah!

Release the full song playing in this trailer! It sounds awsum!
If there is music from this trailer added to the game with this DLC it would be just perfect
I'd probably pay $10-15 alone for a pirate soundtrack added into the game.
On the steam page it mentions hunting down Shanty's from other captains... I would not be surprised if these were all ingame.
Th part where the gunfire and cannons are in sync is just... mwa!

*Doesn't play Total War Warhammer 2
*Still gets hyped
*That's pretty impressive*
You really should play. Personally, I'd mark it as my own game of the year. Such a great strategy game.
I bought most of it last night and playing my first game as dwarf's, Loving it so far!
And then you find out there's a warhammer 40K too and your mind just overloads with all the data you have to catch up on
My response is a little late, but my suggestion would be to start with the first unless you really want to play as any of the game 2 factions.
When the vampire pirate cannon crews showed up and fired off their crescendo she exclaimed 'Oh my what terrible weapons!'

Other minor factions like this may also get a chance to shine!
Tileans as fantasy Romans with giant heroic looking statues that walk around and hit stuff when?
Well...
We need Cathay yesterday.

This theme better be in the game. I'm tired of listening to awesome themes in trailers and not having them in-game.

@@JollyJoel How so? A battleforged army is definetly not whatever you want.
