I feel like you should never leave out “take productive breaks” from any of your writing tips videos. First heard that from you maybe a year ago now and it’s helped so much!
Sometimes getting started is the hardest part. My tip would be if you have a lot of resistance to just getting started step one put your phone down and any other electronic device that could distract you. And just sit there quietly thinking about What the feelings are that are keeping you from beginning. And then just think through the absolute smallest minute step I could take even if it's literally just opening the folder where a document is located.
I totally agree with the rewards! If I do a little treat for myself ever few milestones it helps keep my brain motivated to keep going with the same story
I love the rewards tip! Definitely need to implement that into my writing routine! I already do it for my uni assignments but I never thought of it as a motivational tool for writing as well.
Check out Ellen Brock's videos on the different types of writers. She helps you place yourself on 2 continuums; plotter-pantser and intuitive-methodological. And, her advice for these types are wildly different. If your stuck, it could be you're trying strategies that don't work for your writer type.
