    Decent tutorial here. If anyone’s concerned about electrics just spray some wd40 around any areas you’re concerned about before hitting with the water.

      The older ars with dizzys will need covering. But the modern cars are fine.

    Had a MK3 Escort that wouldn't start if it was a bit damp outside. Left the bonnet open on a Sierra in a short shower and it wouldn't start. But this is fine with modern cars, did the same cleaning on a MK1 Leon and it was fine.

    It doesn't matter if you hit the hot parts with cold water. I get snow and slush into my engine bay all the time in the winter or when i've washed it while running and have never had a problem with the engine since I purchased my mk5 Jetta 500,000 km ago. I could be lucky but every car i've had has been just fine doing the same thing to all of them.

    • @BMACCARMODS
      @BMACCARMODS  3 года назад

      I think its my habit of practice to avoid hot hitting cold of anything, but I totally get what you are saying.

    Great video!
    FYI, I have used oven cleaner and an Armor All equivalent to clean and shine the engine bay plus the wheels & tires of my cars since the early 90s with NO problems whatsoever. I jet spray the area like you did and then start the engine so that it can warm up while I apply the oven cleaner. Then I jet wash all of the mess away just before it all dries up. After that I turn off the engine and spray the AA equivalent liberally throughout the engine bay. Once that dries I spray everything again and I'm done.
    Will this give you show car results? Absolutely not! Will the result be WAY more than adequate for daily drivers? Absolutely!!!
    It's been the go to solution for my last 7 cars and I see no reason to stop now.
    YMMV!

    • @BMACCARMODS
      @BMACCARMODS  3 года назад +2

      I 100% agree. For 99% of the cars out there, this is more than an adequate method of cleaning

    Hey buddy , I see all these engine detailing videos and I'm just kind of laughing some guy put Vaseline around the electrical connector. Most modern day electrical connectors have a gasket inside. So unless you are quite literally putting hundreds of PSI of water directly at the connector you'll be completely fine
